Vadhans Mahala - 3 Chhant Ik onkar satgur prasad ( Aapne Pir Ke Rang Ratti Muiye Sobhavanti Naare )
"By the Grace of the Lord-Sublime, Truth personified & attainable through the Guru's guidance."

O, beloved friend! The person, who is imbued with the love of the Lord-Spouse ( Jo Jeevatma Aapne Pir de Rang vich Ratti hai ) is really beautiful and praise-worthy like the wedded wife engrossed in the love of her spouse. O, dear friend! The person, who is always absorbed in the Guru's message, enjoys the bliss of the love of the Lord-Spouse. The Lord has accepted and decorated the person who has developed love and devotion for the Lord, just as whenever a woman gives up her ego, she gains the love of her beloved spouse) and his mind is fully occupied with the Guru's guidance. Such a person receives the approbation of all, through the Guru's guidance and then developing an attraction (affection) for the Lord, he builds up true love for the Lord-Spouse.

O Nanak! Such a dutiful and virtuous (wedded-wife) person gets merged with the Lord-Spouse, while the True Guru has beautified and embellished such a person with His union, thus accepting him in His Presence. (1)

O, virtueless person! You should always perceive the Lord very close to you. O, Man! Whosoever has recited Lord's True Name, through the Guru's guidance, has seen the Lord pervading everywhere. The Lord, who pervades everywhere for ages should be perceived by you close by as He is the only one known in the whole world throughout the ages.

Just as a wedded woman who is humble and innocent, devoid of any falsehood, enjoys the bliss of the conjugal love of her spouse, who settles everyone else's disputes, such a (person) woman has tasted the True Name of the Lord, and always sings the praises of the Lord, thus becoming purified through the company of holy saints and amassing the wealth of virtues. O Nanak! The person, who perceives the LordSpouse through the Guru's guidance as close by, is accepted and loved by the True Lord. (Just as a wedded wife is accepted by her spouse if she joins him in all his activities) (2)

O, beloved friends! Let us go and ask the virtuous and knowledgeable persons who have got rid of their egoism, about the Lord-Spouse!
O, dear friend! The self-willed persons, who have not cast away their egoism, have not realized the True Lord as they have not carried out the dictates of the Lord; however, the persons who have gotten rid of egoism, have attained the True Lord and are enjoying the bliss of life in His company. In fact, such persons are imbued with the Lord's love and are reciting the Lord's True Name day and night, and are always engrossed in the remembrance of the Lord. The person, who has developed a love of the Lord-Spouse by getting immersed within his inner self, is really fortunate to have realized the true love of the Lord. ( just as a wedded woman enjoys her spouse's love and company within herself.) O Nanak! The person, who has embellished himself with the ornaments of True love of the Lord-Spouse, by reciting True Name, has really attained the True Lord. (3)

O, Man! Whenever you follow the Guru's ordains by dispelling your egoism, you will overcome the effects of worldly falsehood (Maya) and then enjoy eternal bliss through the love of the Lord Spouse. (like the beautiful wedded wife) By attaining self-realization, you will get into the Lord's presence. O, dear friend! Such a person remains faithful to his Lord-Spouse (like the beautiful wife) by reciting the True Name of the Lord, having realized his true self. The Lord also, who is ever so fresh, youthful, and charming, beautifies the person with His loving care and constant enjoyment (like the woman in her spouse's care) day and night. But it is only some fortunate persons, who receive the joy and bliss of the Lord's love, and through the Guru's message (guidance) become worthy of honor and recognition.

O Nanak ! The person, who follows the Will of the Lord remains imbued in the love of the True Guru, and immersed and engrossed in the eternal bliss of the Lord-Spouse! (4-1)

वडहंस महला ३ छंत ईश्वर एक है, जिसे सतगुरु की कृपा से पाया जा सकता है।

हे नाशवान् सुन्दर नारी ! तू अपने प्रिय-प्रभु के प्रेम-रंग में मग्न हो चुकी है। तू सच्चे शब्द द्वारा अपने पति-प्रभु से मिल गई है और वह प्रेम-प्यार से तेरे साथ रमण करता है। तू अपने प्रेम द्वारा सच्चे प्रभु की प्रियतमा बन गई है, तेरे स्वामी ने तुझे नाम द्वारा सुन्दर बना दिया है। तूने भगवान के साथ प्रेम बना लिया है। जब तूने अपने अभिमान को दूर किया तो ही तूने अपने पति-प्रभु को पाया है और तेरा मन गुरु के शब्द द्वारा प्रभु में समाया रहता है। ऐसी जीव-स्त्री जिसे उसके स्वामी के प्रेम ने आकर्षित किया हुआ है और जिसके अन्तर्मन को उसकी प्रीति प्यारी लगती है, वह उसके नाम से सुहावनी हो जाती है। हे नानक ! प्रिय-पति ने उस जीव-स्त्री को अपने साथ मिला लिया है तथा सच्चे बादशाह ने उसे अपने नाम से श्रृंगार दिया है॥ १॥

हे गुणहीन जीवात्मा ! अपने पति-परमेश्वर को सदैव प्रत्यक्ष दृष्टिमान कर। हे नाशवान् नववधू! जो गुरु के माध्यम से अपने प्रभु को स्मरण करती है, वह उसे परिपूर्ण व्यापक देखती है। पति-परमेश्वर प्रत्येक हृदय में विद्यमान है; तू उसे प्रत्यक्ष देख और युग-युगान्तरों में उसे एक समान ही अनुभव कर। मासूम जीव-स्त्री भोलेपन में सहज ही अपने पति-प्रभु के साथ रमण करती है एवं अपने कर्मविधाता प्रभु को मिल जाती है। जो जीव-स्त्री हरि-रस को चखती है, वह प्रेमपूर्वक नाम का उच्चारण करती है और वह परमेश्वर के अमृत सरोवर में लीन रहती है। हे नानक ! प्रिय-प्रभु को वही जीव-स्त्री लुभाती है, जो गुरु के शब्द द्वारा प्रत्यक्ष रहती है॥ २॥

हे जीवात्मा ! उन सुहागिनों से भी जाकर पूछ लो, जिन्होंने अपना अहंत्व मिटा दिया है। जिन्होंने अपना अहंत्व नहीं मिटाया, उन्होंने अपने पति-प्रभु के हुक्म को अनुभव नहीं किया। लेकिन जिन्होंने अपना अहंत्व मिटा दिया है, उन्हें अपना पति-प्रभु मिल गया है और प्रेम-रंग में लीन होकर रमण करती हैं। अपने प्रभु के प्रेम में सदैव रंगी और सहज ही मतवाली हुई वह रात-दिन उसका नाम जपती रहती है। वह जीव-स्त्री बड़ी भाग्यशाली है, जिसके हृदय में पति-प्रभु की ही सुरति लगी हुई है और परमेश्वर का प्रेम मीठा लगता है। हे नानक ! जिस जीव-स्त्री ने सत्य के साथ श्रृंगार किया है, वह सहज ही अपने पति-प्रभु के प्रेम में लीन रहती है॥ ३॥

हे नाशवान् जीवात्मा ! तू अपना अहंकार नष्ट कर दे और गुरु की रज़ा पर अनुसरण कर। इस तरह तू परमेश्वर के साथ हमेशा आनंद उपभोग करेगी और अपने मूल घर आत्मस्वरूप में निवास प्राप्त कर लेगी। अपने मूल निवास प्रभु के पास रहकर वह नाम का उच्चारण करती है और सदा सुहागिन नारी हो जाती है। प्रिय-प्रभु बड़ा रंगीला एवं यौवन सम्पन्न है; वह रात-दिन अपनी पत्नी को संवारता है। अपने सुहाग हरि-परमेश्वर द्वारा उसके माथे के भाग्य उदय हो जाते हैं और वह सच्चे शब्द से शोभावान हो जाती है। हे नानक ! जब जीव-स्त्री सतिगुरु की शिक्षा पर अनुसरण करती है तो वह परमेश्वर के प्रेम-रंग में लीन हो जाती है॥ ४॥ १॥

( Aapne Pir Ke Rang Ratti Muiye Sobhavanti Naare ) ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਅਛੋਹ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ, ਨੇਹੁ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ) ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।੧।
