On 29th October 1922 AD, a train carriage filled with prisoner Singhs was sent from Amritsar to Attock Fort. The management committee of Gurdwara Panja Sahib and the Sikh Sangat decided to stop the Singh prisoners on the train going to Attock from Amritsar at the nearby station 'Hasan Abdal' (West Punjab) and offer Guru Ka Langar. This train was supposed to proceed without stopping at this station.
The station master informed the Sangat that the train carrying the prisoner Singhs could not be stopped as per the orders of the government. In a hurry to anchor, Sangat sat on the train tracks. Bhai Karam Singh and Bhai Pratap Singh fulfilled their prayer to stop the train by giving their lives but became successful to offer langar to the imprisoned Singhs.
