Slok Mahalla 3rd ( Jagat Jalanda Rakh Le Apni Kirpa Dhar ... )

O Lord! May You save this world from the burning effects of vices life sexual desires and anger through Your Grace. ! May You protect this world by any means as it pleases You or is possible to save it! The True Guru has enabled the Guru-minded persons to enjoy the comforts and bliss of life by meditating on the Guru's Word. O Nanak! We do not find any other power on par with the Lord-benefactor who could save this world. (1)

Mahalla 3rd: This human being is engrossed in dual-mindedness due to his love of the (Maya) worldly falsehood, which has ensnared everyone. Neither this Maya could be destroyed (thrown out) by anyone nor it gets subdued by itself; moreover, it cannot be sold at any shop. (by any other means). But when it is burnt in the fire of the Guru's Word, then it could be destroyed and cast away. When one develops the love of True Name within oneself, the body and mind get purified. O Nanak! The only way to destroy this Maya is through the Guru's Word, which could be gained through the Guru's guidance. (2)

Pouri: The Greatness and praises of the Guru have been bestowed by the Lord's Grace as per the Lord's Will from the beginning. (Guru Angad Dev bestowed the Greatness of Guru Amar Das) All the relatives like sons, nephews, sons-in-law, or other relatives including the parents-in-law were examined (and only Guru Amar Das was found most deserving of Guruship) and with His service in view, He was bestowed with this honor and accepted by everyone as the Guru by casting away everyone's egoism. Now the True Guru is seen pervading everywhere we look around and the whole world obeys Him.

Whosoever follows the Guru's dictates, gets honored both here and hereafter. However, the person devoid of the Guru's faith is thrown into hell. O Nanak! When the Lord becomes our friend and supporter, then this slave becomes acclaimed by everyone. The whole world then paid respects to the Guru (Guru Amar Das) on seeing the Greatness and praise-worthiness of the Guru (the grandeur of the Guru's kitchen); the egoism of others was removed and the Guru got respected by the whole world. ਸਲੋਕ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸੜ ਬਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਬਚਾਅ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਬਚਾਅ ਕਰ ॥ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ, ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਅਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਵਿਖਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ, ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਮੁਆਫੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ॥

ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਹ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਤੇ ਵੇਚੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਜਦ ਬੰਦਾ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾੜ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਦਫਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦੇਹ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਆਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਤਾ, ਗੁਰੂ (ਅਮਰਦਾਸ) ਜੀ ਨੇ ਬਖਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰਾਂ, ਭਤੀਜਿਆਂ, ਜੁਆਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਕਾਂ-ਸਨਬੰਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦਾ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਾਤਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਸ਼ਭੋਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਪਿੱਠ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਲੀਤ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਪੱਖ ਤੇ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬੱਗ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਲੰਗਰ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਣੇਆਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਢਹਿ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥

श्लोक महला ३॥ ( Jagat Jalanda Rakh Le Apni Kirpa Dhar ... ) हे परमात्मा ! यह जगत् तृष्णाग्नि में जल रहा है, अपनी कृपा करके इसकी रक्षा करो। जिस किसी तरीके से भी यह बच सकता है, इसे बचा लो। सच्चे शब्द के चिंतन द्वारा सतगुरु ने मुझे सुख दिखा दिया है। हे नानक ! ईश्वर के अतिरिक्त मुझे अन्य कोई भी क्षमावान् नजर नहीं आता ॥ १॥

महला ३॥ अहंत्व रूपी माया दुनिया को मोह लेने वाली है, इसी कारण जीव द्वैतभाव में लगता है। यह न ही मारी जा सकती है और न ही इसे किसी दुकान पर बेचा जा सकता है। लेकिन गुरु के शब्द द्वारा भलीभांति जला दिया जाए तो ही यह मन में से दूर होती है। अहंत्व के दूर होने से तन-मन उज्ज्वल हो जाता है, जिससे मन में नाम का निवास हो जाता है। हे नानक ! शब्द ही माया को नाश करने वाला है, परन्तु यह गुरु द्वारा ही प्राप्त होता है॥ २ ॥

पउड़ी॥ परमात्मा से मिले हुक्म को समझ कर गुरु अंगद देव जी ने (गुरु) अमरदास जी को नाम रूपी परवाना देकर सतगुरु बनने की बड़ाई प्रदान की। गुरु अंगद देव जी ने अपने पुत्रों, भतीजों, दामादों एवं अन्य संबंधियों को भलीभांति परख कर देख लिया था और सभी का अभिमान उतार दिया था। जिधर भी कोई देखता था, वहाँ ही मेरा सतगुरु होता था, परमात्मा ने सारे जहान पर ही कृपा कर दी थी। जो भी निष्ठापूर्वक गुरु को मिलता है, उसका लोक-परलोक संवर जाता है, जो गुरु से विमुख हो जाता है, वह भ्रष्ट स्थान पर फिरता रहता है। हे नानक ! मेरा स्वामी हरि (गुरु अमरदास के) पक्ष में हो गया और वह चतुर प्रभु ही सज्जन है। गुरु के द्वार पर अटूट लंगर मिलता देखकर सारे सेवक गुरु (अमरदास) के चरणों में आ पड़े हैं और गुरु ने सबके मन का गुमान दूर कर दिया है॥ १०॥
