Dhanasari Mahala - Pehla Ghar- Dooja Astpadian Ik Onkar Satgur Parasad ( Gur Sagar Ratni Bharpoore )

"By the Grace of the Lord-sublime, Truth personified & attainable through the Guru's guidance." The Guru is full of the jewels of virtues and good values like the ocean and the swans like holy saints are partaking of the nectar of True Name, by inculcating virtues and leaving aside vicious thoughts or sinful actions. They are never far removed from the Guru, the fountainhead of all virtues. They have won the love and acceptance of the Lord by partaking in the Lord's love and devotion (in the form of True Name). Thus the Sikhs (disciples) attain the Lord, the Master of our lives, by joining the company of holy saints like the swans. (1)

What could the poor self-minded (faithless) person do, engaged in worldly falsehood, like the crane, as he is bathing in the pond of bad company and gets stuck up in the mud of his vicious and sinful actions? His filth of egoism does not leave him, as he suffers, engrossed in the vices of sexual desires and anger. (Pause -1)

However, thoughtful persons protect themselves against the onslaughts of vices and sinful actions function accordingly, and keep themselves safe from treading on the smaller beings. Thus, Guru-minded persons have developed a love for the Lord-Sublime by getting rid of their dual-mindedness and immersed in His devotion. Such Guru-minded persons, attain the invaluable stage of salvation by imbibing the love of the Lord and partaking in the nectar of the Lord's True Name. Such persons have been saved by the True Guru and protected from going through the cycle of births and deaths. (2)

True Sikh to True Guru

The Sikhs, who behave like swans, never forsake the worship of the Lord by reciting their True Name in the company of the holy saints and attain union with the Lord, enjoying peace and tranquillity of mind in the state of equipoise. The swans (Guru's Sikhs) reside in the nectar tank of holy saints while in their hearts they have taught the love of the holy saints in the ocean of the Guru's Word. Such Guru's Sikhs always sing the praises of the limitless Lord through the Guru's Word and follow the Guru's teachings. (3)

Thus few fortunate Sikhs find solace in a secluded place like the Yogis, where they do not find any distinction between man and woman as all are perceived by them as the personification and image of the Lord-Sublime only, as such no one could ever attempt to describe their position or status. Such persons get merged with the transcendent light of the Lord, who is all-pervasive and pervading equally in all three worlds. All the gods, men, and great souls have taken refuge at the lotus feet of the Lord. (4)

The True Master is the support and mainstay of the whole universe and its bliss. It is the fountainhead of all joy and bliss in the world, from whom all the worldly pleasures and bliss springs and prevails all over the world, without any parallel or any other Master controlling Him. The Guru-minded persons become thoughtful meditating on Him through His worship and getting rid of all their fear-complex through the love of holy saints. They attain unison with the Lord by ridding themselves of their egoism through the company of holy saints, following their path. (5)

Self-willed vs Guru-minded

The self-willed persons, however, get pestered by the Yama (god of death) notwithstanding all their efforts, as all human beings are given a fixed date (and time) of their death, pre-destined for them. The faithless persons, however, waste this invaluable human life due to their dual-mindedness and wander through the cycle of births and deaths. Thus, they suffer from afflictions, as they have not gained self-realization through the Guru's guidance. (6)

The Guru-minded persons have realized the fact that it is the Lord alone who speaks, reads, or listens to anything as the Guru-minded persons have sought refuge at the lotus-feet of the Lord by entertaining patience and religious duty in their hearts. Moreover, they have grasped the virtues of celibacy, truthfulness, and discipline in their (mind) hearts and the mind believes in the Lord in the fourth state of equipoise. (7)

The persons, who have been purified by attaining the True Lord, are not affected by the filth of sins. They have cast away their whims, vicious actions, or fear complexes through the Guru's guidance. The Lord, who is so charming and beautiful, is the fountainhead of everything and spreads His charm all around. O, Nanak! I would seek the boon of True Name from the Lord- sublime so that I could merge with such a wonderful Lord, an embodiment of Truth. (8-1)

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀਆਂ ॥ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ ॥ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਸਦਕਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਮੋਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹਨ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਰੂਪੀ ਹੰਸ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ-ਮਈ ਮੌਤੀ ਚੁਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਓਥੋਂ ਦੁਰੇਡੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ॥ ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਰਿ ਦਾ ਚੋਗਾ ਚੁਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਾਜ-ਹੰਸ (ਹਰੀ-ਸੰਤ) ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਬਗਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਭੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਕੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਹਿੰਦਾ ॥ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ ॥

ਵਿਚਾਰਵਾਨ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਗੂੜ੍ਹੀ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਪੈਰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਕਾਰ ਰਹਿਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਹ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਉਣੇ ਤੇ ਜਾਣੇ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਹਰੀ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਰਾਜ ਹੰਸ (ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ) ਹੋਰ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਭਿੰਨੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਰਾਜ ਹੰਸ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਰਾਜ ਹੰਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ (ਦੋਵਨੂੰ ਓਤ ਪੋਤ ਹਨ) ॥ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਕਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ, ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਸ਼ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

ਅਫੁਰ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਯੋਗੀ, ਸਾਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਹ ਨਾਂ ਮਦੀਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਰ ॥ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਤਿੰਨੇ ਜਹਾਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਯੋਗੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ-ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਹੈ ॥ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ, ਬੰਦਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਕਦਮ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

ਆਦਮੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੌਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਮੌਤ ਨੀਅਤ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਉਹ ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਸਾਧੂ ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਆਖਦਾ, ਵਾਚਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਿਨਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ, ਸਚਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਪਨਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾ, ਸਚਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਜ਼ਬਤ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਚੌਥੀ ਅਵਸਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਥੀ ਜਾਵੇ ॥ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ॥ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਿਮੜਦੀ ॥ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਆਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਪਰਮ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਨ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

धनासरी महला १ घर २ असटपदीआ

ईश्वर एक है, जिसे सतगुरु की कृपा से पाया जा सकता है।
गुरु नाम रूपी रत्नों से भरा हुआ सागर है।
संत रूपी हंस इस में से अमृत रूपी रत्न चुगते हैं और वे गुरु रूपी सागर से दूर नहीं होते। संत रूपी हंस हरि रस रूपी चोगा चुगते हैं और वे प्रभु को अच्छे लगते हैं।
हंस रूपी संत, सागर रूपी गुरु में से अपने प्राणपति परमेश्वर को पा लेते हैं।॥१॥

बेचारा बगुला (पाखण्डी) छोटे तालाब में क्यों स्नान करता है ?
वह तो छोटे तालाब के कीचड़ में ही डूबता है परन्तु उसकी (विकारों की) मैल दूर नहीं होती॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

विचारवान पुरुष बड़े ध्यानपूर्वक अपने पैर धरती पर रखते हैं और वे दुविधा को छोड़कर निरंकार के उपासक बन जाते है।
वे मुक्ति पदार्थ को प्राप्त कर लेते हैं और हरि रस चखते रहते हैं। गुरु ने उन्हें भवसागर में डूबने से बचा लिया है और उनके जन्म-मरण के चक्र मिट गए हैं।॥२॥

हंस रूपी संत

हंस रूपी संत, सागर रूपी गुरु को छोड़कर कहीं नहीं जाता और वह प्रेम-भक्ति करके सहज अवस्था में ही लीन रहता है।
वह सागर रूपी गुरु में और सागर रूपी गुरु, हंस रूपी संत में मिलकर एक रूप हो जाते हैं।
यह एक अकथनीय कथा है कि संत गुरु की वाणी द्वारा प्रभु के दरबार में आदर-सत्कार प्राप्त करता है॥ ३॥

शून्य मण्डल में एक योगी अर्थात् प्रभु विराजमान है।
वह न तो स्त्री है और न ही वह पुरुष है।कोई कैसे कहे कि वह कैसा है ?
धरती, आकाश एवं पाताल-इन तीनों भवनों के जीव उस ज्योति में ध्यान लगाकर रखते हैं।
देवते, मनुष्य एवं नाथ परम-सत्य परमेश्वर की शरण में रहते हैं।॥ ४ ॥

परमेश्वर आनंद का स्रोत है, अनाथों का सहारा है और गुरुमुख जन सहज अवस्था में उसकी भक्ति एवं सिमरन करते रहते हैं।
हे भय का नाश करने वाले प्रभु ! तू भक्तवत्सल है, तेरे चरण को अपने ह्रदय में बसा कर एवं अपने अहंत्व को मारकर ही तेरे भक्तजन तुझे मिले हैं।॥ ५॥

एक परमेश्वर - आत्म स्वरूप

मनुष्य अनेक यत्न करता है परन्तु मृत्यु उसे बहुत दुःख देती है।
सभी जीव अपने माथे पर मृत्यु का लेख लिखवा कर पृथ्वी में आए हैं परन्तु वे दुविधा में फँस कर अपना दुर्लभ जन्म व्यर्थ ही गंवा देते हैं।
वे अपने आत्म स्वरूप को नहीं पहचानते और भ्रम में पड़कर रोते रहते हैं।॥ ६॥

जो मनुष्य एक परमेश्वर की गुणों वाली वाणी का बखान करता रहता है, वाणी को पढ़ता और सुनता रहता है.
पृथ्वी को धारण करने वाला परमेश्वर उसे धर्म, धैर्य एवं अपना सहारा देता है।
जब मनुष्य के हृदय में ब्रह्मचार्य, सत्य एवं संयम समा जाते है तब मनुष्य का मन तुरीयावस्था में प्रसन्न हो जाता है ॥ ७॥

सत्यवादी पुरुष के निर्मल मन को विकारों की मैल नहीं लगती और गुरु के शब्द द्वारा उसका भ्रम एवं मृत्यु का भय दूर हो जाता है।
आदिपुरुष की सूरत एवं मूर्त अत्यंत सुन्दर है।
नानक तो उस तत्यस्वरूप प्रभु के दर्शनों की ही कामना करता है ॥८॥१॥
