Sorath Mahala Fourth ( Har Sio Preet Antar Man Bedhia... )

O, Lord! I cannot exist (live in peace) without Your presence within me (perceiving Your glimpse) as I am completely immersed in Your love and devotion. In fact, I would die ( a spiritual death) without reciting Your True Name, just as a fish faces death without the presence of water. (1)

O, True Master! May You bestow on me (bless me with) the boon of True Name through Your Grace! I am seeking Your True Name day and night so as to inculcate the love of True Name in my heart and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of mind. (Pause)

The Guru-minded person, who partakes of the nectar of True Name in a state of equipoise through the Guru's guidance, gets acclaimed and honoured (in the Lord's presence) with a . purified mind. Just as a toad (Chatrik) pines and craves for the raindrop and cannot satisfy his thirst without water. (from the raindrop). (2)

The faithless persons are wandering in all ten directions in the absence of a True Name (being hungry), and undergo all sorts of sufferings. Such persons undergo the torture of the cycle of births and deaths and get Punished in the Lord's court. (going through various forms of life). (3)

O, Nanak! The person, who is blessed with the Lord's Grace, sings the praises of the Lord by partaking in the nectar of True Name. The helpless person gets his fire of worldly desires extinguished through the Guru's Word when the Lord bestows His Grace on Him. ( 4-8)

सोरठ महला चौथा ॥ हर स्यों प्रीत अंतर मन बेधिआ हर बिन रहण न जाई ॥ ज्यों मछुली बिन नीरै बिनसै त्यों नामै बिन मर जाई ॥१॥ मेरे प्रभ किरपा जल देवहु हर नाई ॥ हौ अंतर नाम मंगा दिन राती नामे ही सांत पाई ॥ रहाउ ॥ ज्यों चात्रिक जल बिन बिललावै बिन जल प्यास न जाई ॥ गुरमुख जल पावै सुख सहजे हरिआ भाए सुभाई ॥२॥ मनमुख भूखे दह दिस डोलह बिन नावै दुख पाई ॥ जनम मरै फिर जोनी आवै दरगह मिलै सजाई ॥३॥ कृपा करह ता हर गुण गावह हर रस अंतर पाई ॥ नानक दीन दएआल भए है त्रिसना सबद बुझाई ॥४॥८॥

मेरे मन की आंतरिक गहराइयाँ प्रभु के प्रति प्रेम से छलनी हो गई हैं; मैं भगवान के बिना नहीं रह सकता. जैसे मछली पानी के बिना मर जाती है, वैसे ही मैं भगवान के नाम के बिना मर जाता हूँ। ||1|| हे मेरे भगवान, कृपया मुझे अपने नाम के जल से आशीर्वाद दें। मैं दिन-रात अपने भीतर गहराई से आपके नाम की याचना करता हूँ; नाम के माध्यम से, मुझे शांति मिलती है। ||विश्राम||

पपीहा पानी की कमी का रोना रोता है - पानी के बिना उसकी प्यास नहीं बुझ सकती। गुरुमुख को दिव्य आनंद का जल प्राप्त होता है, और वह पुनर्जीवित हो जाता है, प्रभु के धन्य प्रेम के माध्यम से खिल उठता है। ||2||

स्वेच्छाचारी मनमुख भूखे हैं, दसों दिशाओं में घूम रहे हैं; नाम के बिना, उन्हें पीड़ा होती है। वे केवल मरने के लिए पैदा होते हैं, और फिर से पुनर्जन्म में प्रवेश करते हैं; प्रभु के दरबार में, उन्हें दंडित किया जाता है। ||3||

परन्तु यदि प्रभु अपनी दया दिखाता है, तो कोई उसकी महिमामय स्तुति गाने लगता है; अपने स्वयं के केंद्र की गहराई में, वह भगवान के अमृत के उत्कृष्ट सार को पाता है। भगवान नानक पर दयालु हो गए हैं और शबद के माध्यम से उनकी इच्छाएं शांत हो गई हैं। ||4||8|

ਅਧਰਮੀ ਸਦਾ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਸਾਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਉਹ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਮਰਨ ਲਈ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਆਵਾਗਵਣ ਦੇ ਚੱਕਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਜੇਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਝਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
