1. Punjabi Translation

ਗੂਜਰੀ ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਐਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਢਾਲ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਕਿ ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥ ਹਰੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਸੁਖ, ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੋਲਤ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਤੇ ਖੁਦਿਆ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੀਰ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਬੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਆਲਾਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥ ਅਖੀਰ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾ ਲਊਗਾ ॥ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ ॥

ਹੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਤੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੀਬਰ ਇੱਛਿਆ ਲਾਈ ਹੈ ॥ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹ ਦੀ ਦਿਲੀ-ਚਾਹਨਾ ਹਰੀ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੱਧਰ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥

ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜਨਮ ਨੇਕ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਇਹ ਧ੍ਰਿਕਾਰ ਯੋਗ, ਧ੍ਰਿਕਾਰ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਤੇ ਸਲੂਣੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫਿਕਲਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਤੇ ਰਾਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਥੁੱਕਾਂ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਸ਼ਟਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ, ਮੁਬਾਰਕ! ਅਤੇ ਆਫਰੀਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ ॥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੱਫੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਭੇਦ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਫਰ (ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ!

O True Master! May I be blessed with Your Grace so that imbued with the love of True Name, I may continue reciting Your True Name all the time. O Lord! Your True Name comprises all the comforts, virtues, and treasures of this world that satiate our desires and alleviate all our sufferings. (1)

O My Mind! Let me realize the Lord's True Name as my friend and brother. May I always sing the Lord's praises through the Guru's guidance and teachings, which will be of great help in ridding me of all sins and sufferings in the Lord's Court! (Pause-1)

O Omni-scient Lord! You are my greatest benefactor and have always imbibed my mind with the longing of True Name through Your Grace. O True Master! I have been pining to attain Your True Name in body and soul (with love and devotion) and have fulfilled my hopes and desires through the support of the True Guru. (2)

We have gained this human life as a boon (reward) from the Lord for our good actions, but without the support of True Name now, it is going to total waste (due to fruitless efforts). Without reciting the Lord's True Name, whatever delicious foods we eat lead to great suffering. Such vicious persons always speak a crude and bitter language and the whole world has discarded them (spit at them) as useless persons. (3)

The Guru-minded persons who have sought the support of the True Lord, are received with honor and acclaim in the Lord's presence. O Nanak! The Guru-minded persons are received with acclaim and greetings in the Lord's court and are united with the Lord with great affection and embrace. (4-4)

गूजरी महला ४ ॥ होहु दइआल मेरा मनु लावहु हउ अनदिनु राम नामु नित धिआई ॥ सभि सुख सभि गुण सभि निधान हरि जितु जपिऐ दुख भुख सभ लहि जाई ॥१॥ मन मेरे मेरा राम नामु सखा हरि भाई ॥ गुरमति राम नामु जसु गावा अंति बेली दरगह लए छडाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ तूं आपे दाता प्रभु अंतरजामी करि किरपा लोच मेरै मनि लाई ॥ मै मनि तनि लोच लगी हरि सेती प्रभि लोच पूरी सतिगुर सरणाई ॥२॥ माणस जनमु पुंनि करि पाइआ बिनु नावै ध्रिगु ध्रिगु बिरथा जाई ॥ नाम बिना रस कस दुखु खावै मुखु फीका थुक थूक मुखि पाई ॥३॥ जो जन हरि प्रभ हरि हरि सरणा तिन दरगह हरि हरि दे वडिआई ॥ धंनु धंनु साबासि कहै प्रभु जन कउ जन नानक मेलि लए गलि लाई ॥४॥४॥

5. Hukamnama Meaning in Hindi

गूजरी महला ४ ॥ हे मेरे राम ! मुझ पर दयालु हो जाओ और मेरा मन भक्ति में लगा दो चूंकि मैं सर्वदा ही तेरे नाम का ध्यान करता रहूँ। परमात्मा सभी सुखों, सभी गुणों एवं समस्त निधियों का भण्डार है, जिसका नाम जपने से ही सभी दुख एवं भूख मिट जाते हैं।॥ १॥

हे मेरे मन ! राम का नाम मेरा सखा एवं भाई है। गुरु की मति द्वारा मैं राम-नाम का यश गाता रहता हूँ। अन्तिम समय यह मेरा साथी होगा और प्रभु-दरगाह में मुझे छुड़ा लेगा ॥ १॥ रहाउ॥

हे प्रभु ! तू स्वयं ही दाता एवं अन्तर्यामी है, स्वयं ही कृपा करके मेरे मन में मिलन की तीव्र लालसा लगाई है। अब मेरे मन एवं तन में हरि के लिए तीव्र लालसा लगी है। प्रभु ने मुझे सतगुरु की शरण में डालकर मेरी लालसा पूरी कर दी है॥ २॥

अमूल्य मानव-जन्म पुण्य करने से ही प्राप्त होता है। प्रभु-नाम के बिना यह धिक्कार योग्य है तथा व्यर्थ ही जाता है। प्रभु-नाम के बिना विभिन्न प्रकार के स्वादिष्ट पदार्थ भी दु:ख रूप हैं। उसका मुँह फीका ही रहता है और उसके चेहरे पर थूक ही पड़ता है। ३॥

जो लोग हरि-प्रभु की शरण लेते हैं, उन्हें हरि अपनी दरगाह में मान-सम्मान प्रदान करता है। हे नानक ! अपने सेवक को प्रभु धन्य-धन्य एवं शाबाश कहता है। वह उसे गले लगा लेता है और अपने साथ मिला लेता है॥ ४॥ ४॥
