ਮੂਲ ਪਾਠ

ਮਃ ੪ ॥
ਸਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਭਈ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੀ ਜਿਥੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬੈਠਾ ਆਇ ॥
ਸੇ ਜੰਤ ਭਏ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਕੁਲੁ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੁ ਜਨਨੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਣਿਆ ਮਾਇ ॥
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਤਰਿਆ ਜਿਨੀ ਡਿਠਾ ਤਿਨਾ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥

ਉਹ ਜ਼ਿਮੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੀ ਭਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤੂ ਜੋ ਜਾਂ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਸਰਸਬਜ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਹੇ ਅੰਮੜੀਏ, ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼, ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ ਹੈ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ, ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ ਹੈ ਖਾਨਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼, ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ, ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਤਾਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਨਫਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰੇ ॥

Translation in English

The place, visited by my True Guru, has also become fertile and beautiful where my Guru had set His lotus feet once, and the holy saints, who have seen my Guru personally, have also become prosperous with joy. O, my friend! The father is praiseworthy the whole family (clan) is blessed, and the mother in fact, who gave birth to such a Guru, deserves all our praise and approbation.

Then blessed is the Guru, who has recited the Lord's True Name, and crossed this ocean of life Himself along with all those persons who attained salvation by having a glimpse of the Guru. O Nanak! May I seek the union with such a Guru through the Lord's Grace so that I may wash the lotus feet of the Guru myself. (2)

सा धरती भई हरियावली, जिथै मेरा सतगुर बैठा आए
से जंत भए हरियावले, जिनी मेरा सतगुर देखिया जाए
धन धँन पिता धन धँन कुल, धन सु जननी जिन गुरु जणिया माए
धन धँन गुरु जिन नाम आराधिया, आप तरिया जिनी डिठ्ठा तिना लए छडाए
हर सतगुर मेलहु दया कर, जन नानक धोवै पाए ॥

Hindi Translation

जिस धरती पर मेरा सतिगुरु आकर बैठा है, वह धरती समृद्ध हो गई है। वे लोग भी कृतार्थ हो चुके हैं, जिन्होंने मेरे सतिगुरु के जाकर दर्शन प्राप्त किए हैं। हे माँ! वह पिता बड़ा भाग्यशाली है, वह कुल भी भाग्यवान है, वह माँ बड़ी भाग्यवान है, जिसने गुरु को जन्म दिया है। वह गुरु धन्य-धन्य है, जिसने भगवान के नाम की आराधना की है। यह स्वयं भी भवसागर से पार हुए हैं और जिन्होंने गुरु के दर्शन किए हैं, उन्हें भी गुरु ने भवसागर से मुक्त करवा दिया है। हे हरि ! दया करके मुझे (ऐसे) गुरु से मिला दे, चूंकि नानक उनके चरण जल से घोए॥ २॥
