Mukhwak Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib: Sadh Sang Har Amrit Peejai, Na Jio Marai Na Kabahu Chheejai; Raag Wadhans Mahalla 5th Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Ang 563.

English Translation

Vadhans Mahala 5 ( Sadh Sang Har Amrit Peejai ) O, Brother! Once we partake the nectar of True Name in the company of holy saints, neither we suffer a spiritual death nor do we waste this life in futile efforts. ( 1)

O, Brother! It is through great fortune alone that we are enabled to meet the perfect and True Guru. Then it is the Guru’s Grace alone that enables us to recite the Lord’s True Name. (Pause-1)

O, Brother, We are enjoying all the comforts of life by reciting the True Name of the Lord and are blessed with His Grace. Now we have attained all the treasures of the world like pearls, rubies, emeralds, and diamonds through unison with the Lord. (2)

Wherever I look around, I find the company of the holy saints as the only mainstay in life which could lend us support and refuge in this world. _Then we could purify our hearts by singing the praises of the Lord in the midst of holy congregations. (3)

O, Nanak! My True Master pervades equally in all human bodies but we could enjoy the bliss of life by attaining True Name only when it pleases the Lord. (4-6)

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਲ ਪੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਜਿੰਦ ਨਾਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਕਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਲਿੱਸੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਰਤਨ ਹਨ, ਜਵਾਹਰ ਹਨ, ਮੋਤੀ ਹਨ, ਲਾਲ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜੇ ਰਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਕਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਹੀ (ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ (-ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੬।

वडहंस महला ५ ॥ संतों की सभा में रहकर हरिनामामृत का पान करना चाहिए। इसके फलस्वरूप जीवात्मा न कभी मरती है और न ही इसका कभी नाश होता है॥ १॥

बड़े भाग्य से ही पूर्ण गुरु की प्राप्ति होती है और गुरु की कृपा से ही प्रभु का ध्यान किया जाता है॥ १॥ रहाउ॥ हरि का नाम ही रत्न, जवाहर, माणिक एवं मोती है। प्रभु का सिमरन करने से मैं कृतार्थ हो गया हूँ॥ २॥

जहाँ-कहीं भी मैं देखता हूँ साधु के अतिरिक्त कोई शरण-स्थल नजर नहीं आता। हरि का गुणगान करने से मन निर्मल हो जाता है॥ ३॥

सभी के हृदय में मेरा मालिक प्रभु ही निवास कर रहा है। हे नानक ! जब परमात्मा प्रसन्न होता है तो ही जीव को नाम की देन मिलती है।४॥ ६ ॥
