English Translation

Ramkali Mahala 5th ( Kot Jaap Taap Bisram )

The Guru-minded person, who is imbued with the love of the Lord’s True Name even for a moment, attains the meditation of the Lord and various penance measures (millions of them) including all the occult powers (ridhis and siddhis) and wisdom along with knowledge. Thus he enjoys all the bliss and joy of life along with beautiful experiences. (1)

The grandeur of True Name and its greatness is beyond description and its value cannot be ascertained. (Pause -1)

The person, who has inculcated the love of True Name in his heart, is the greatest warrior with perfect peace and contentment and enjoys equipoise, serenity with a sweet (tongue) language. Such a person has attained salvation with all the functions completed successfully. (2)

The person, who is immersed in the love of the True Name, enjoys eternal bliss and freedom from all the maladies, with a perception of equality everywhere and the all-pervasive True Master. Such a person is neither born nor faces death or falters anywhere. (does not go through the cycle of births and deaths). (3).

O, Lord-benefactor blessing the helpless people and sustaining the whole world! Let us recite the True Name of such a Lord through the Gum’s guidance thus ridding us of all worries. O, Nanak! The Gum has bestowed the boon of True Name on us along with the service of the holy saints and working at the behest of the saints. (4 – 15 – 26)

रामकली महला ५ ॥ उसे करोड़ों ही जप-तप का फल मिल जाता है, ऋद्धियाँ-सिद्धियों, बुद्धि एवं दैवीय ज्ञान की उसे प्राप्ति हो जाती है और वह अनेक प्रकार के रूप-रंग एवं रसों को भोगता रहता है, जिस गुरुमुख के हृदय में पल भर के लिए नाम स्थित हो जाता है ॥ १॥

हरि के नाम की ऐसी कीर्ति है, जिसकी कीमत को आंका नहीं जा सकता ॥ १॥ रहाउ ॥

वही व्यक्ति शूरवीर, धैर्यवान एवं बुद्धिमान है, वह सहज समाधि में अनहद ध्वनि को सुनता है और गहनगंभीर होता है। वह सदा बंधनों से मुक्त रहता है और उसके सभी कार्य पूर्ण हो जाते हैं, जिसके हृदय में हरि नाम बस जाता है। ॥ २॥

वह सर्व सुख-आनंद प्राप्त करता और आरोग्य रहता है, वह निर्लिप्त एवं समदर्शीं होता है। उसका जन्म-मरण समाप्त हो जाता है और कभी पथभ्रष्ट नहीं होता जिसके मन में नाम स्थित हो जाता है।॥ ३॥

दीनदयाल गोविन्द गोपाल गुरुमुख बनकर यह जाप करने से सब चिन्ताएँ समाप्त हो जाती हैं। नानक को गुरु ने हरि-नाम ही दिया है, अब वह संतों की सेवा एवं उनके कार्य में ही लगा रहता है॥ ४॥ १५ ॥ २६ ॥

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਦੱਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਫੋਰ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੂਝ-ਬੂਝ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ (ਉੱਚੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਰਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ (ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ; ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਪਾਂ ਤਪਾਂ (ਦਾ ਫਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹੈ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰੀ ਅਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਧੀਰਜ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਲਗਨ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਿਤੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਤੇ ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ) ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਮਾਨਸਕ) ਰੋਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ (ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ (ਦੱਸਿਆ) ਕੰਮ ਹੈ।੪।੧੫।੨੬।
