ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਕਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਈ ਕਿਵ ਛੂਟਹ ਹਮ ਛੁਟਕਾਕੀ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਬੇੜੀ ਹਰਿ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਤਰੈ ਤਰਾਕੀ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੁ ਜਪਾਵਹੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਹਮ ਮਾਗੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਇਕਾਕੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਬਚਨਾਕੀ ॥ ਲੇਖਾ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਪਤਿ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸਭ ਛੂਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਬਾਕੀ ॥੨॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਪਿਓ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ॥ ਦਿਨੀਅਰੁ ਸੂਰੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਨੀ ਸਿਵ ਚਰਿਓ ਚੰਦੁ ਚੰਦਾਕੀ ॥੩॥ ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਤੁਮ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਅਪਾਕੀ ॥ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਸਾਕੀ ॥੪॥੬॥

( Kaljug Ka Dharm Kahoh Tum Bhai )

Brother, pray do tell me the manner of Kaliyuga,
How we the seekers can find salvation?
Meditation on the Lord is the boat and boatman,
Meditation is the ultimate salvation. (l)

Lord! Save the honor of Your minion,
Let me meditate on You.
On You alone, I seek meditation. (Refrain)
Those who serve the Lord endear themselves to Him,
They meditate with the Word Holy recitation.
Their account as maintained by Chitragupta
Canceled in its reconciliation. (2)

The Lord's devotees meditate on the Lord,
Getting together in the holy congregation.
Their burning Sun of desires comes to set,
And rises the soothing Moon of contemplation. (3)

You are Supreme, the Inaccessible, Unknowable Lord,
The universe is Your manifestation.
Pray do be gracious to Nanak, the slave,
Let him serve the slaves of the slaves of Your Mansion. (4) 6

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਹੇ ਵੀਰ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਾਲੇ ਯੁਗ ਦਾ ਮੱਤ ਦਰਸਾ ॥ ਮੈਂ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਣ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਵਾਲਾ, ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਖਲਾਸ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ? ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਤਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਹੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਦੀ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਵਾ ॥ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੀ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥ ਠਹਿਰਾਓ ॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ, ਜੋ ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਲਾਡਲੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਲਿਖਤ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਫਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਿੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਦਾ ਬਕਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰਾ ਚੁਕਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਨੇਕ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਚੁਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਛੁਪ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਠੰਢ ਤੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਬਹੁਤ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਾਧ ਹੈਂ ॥ ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਤੋਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੈ ॥ ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੋਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ ॥

( Kaljug Ka Dharm Kahoh Tum Bhai )

O, Brother! Let us perform our duty of this age of Kalyuga of reciting the Lord's True Name, as without the True Name how else could we attain freedom from worldly bondage? The Lord's True Name is the only boat (of safety) and the stack of logs (tied together) or raft, which could enable us to cross this river of life successfully in the form of True Name. (1)

O, True Master! May You protect the honour and prestige of Your (slaves) devotees by blessing us with Your True Name, as we have sought Lord's (True Name) worship only in the waiting form of reciting True Name. (Pause)

The devotees of the Lord are the beloved ones of the True Master, who have recited the Lord's True Name by following the Guru's Word Thus they are relieved from the account maintained by Chitra-Gupta, the deputies of the god of justice (Dharam Raj) and the punishment of the Yama (the god of death). (2)

The devotees have recited the Lord's True Name in the company of the holy saints. The fire of the worldly desires, equivalent to the heat of twelve suns has now been extinguished by the moon of the Lord's True Name, which has bestowed perfect bliss and peace of mind on them. (3)

O, True Lord! You are the greatest (power) of the great powers and are beyond our reach and comprehension as no one could perceive You. You are present in the world in Your image which none could realize. O, Nanak! May the Lord bestow this favour on me through His Grace and accept me as the slave of His slaves! (4-6)

धनासरी महला ४ ॥ कलिजुग का धरम कहहु तुम भाई किव छूटह हम छुटकाकी ॥ हरि हरि जप बेड़ी हरि तुलहा हरि जपिओ तरै तराकी ॥१॥ हरि जी लाज रखहु हरि जन की ॥ हरि हरि जपन जपावहु अपना हम मागी भगत इकाकी ॥ रहाउ ॥ हरि के सेवक से हरि प्यारे जिन जपिओ हरि बचनाकी ॥ लेखा चित्रगुपत जो लिखिआ सभ छूटी जम की बाकी ॥२॥ हरि के संत जपिओ मन हरि हरि लग संगत साध जना की ॥ दिनीअर सूर त्रिसना अगन बुझानी सिव चरिओ चंद चंदाकी ॥३॥ तुम वड पुरख वड अगम अगोचर तुम आपे आप अपाकी ॥ जन नानक कौ प्रभ किरपा कीजै कर दासन दास दसाकी ॥४॥६॥

हिन्दी अनुवाद

हे भाई! ( Kaljug Ka Dharm Kahoh Tum Bhai ) तुम मुझे कलियुग का धर्म बताओ, मैं माया के बन्धनों से मुक्त होने का इच्छुक हूँ, फिर मैं कैसे छूट सकता हूँ? हरि का जाप नाव है और हरि-नाम ही बेड़ा है; जिसने भी हरि का जाप किया है, वह तैराक बनकर भवसागर में से पार हो गया है॥ १॥

हे परमेश्वर! अपने दास की लाज रखो; मुझ से अपने नाम का जाप करवाओ। मैं तो तुझसे एक तेरी भक्ति की कामना ही करता हूँ॥ रहाउ॥

जिन्होंने हरि की वाणी का जाप किया है, वही वास्तव में हरि के सेवक हैं और वे हरि के प्रिय हैं। चित्र-गुप्त ने उनके कर्मों का जो लेखा लिखा था, यमराज का वह शेष सारा लेखा ही मिट गया है॥ २॥

हरि के संतों ने साधुजनों की संगत में शामिल होकर अपने मन में हरि-नाम का ही जाप किया है। हरि-नाम ने उनके हृदय में स सूर्य रूपी तृष्णा की अग्नि बुझा दी है और उनके हृदय में शीतल रूप चांदनी वाला चांद उदय हो गया है॥३॥

हे प्रभु! तुम ही विश्व में बड़े महापुरुष एवं अगम्य-अगोचर सर्वव्यापी हो। हे प्रभु ! नानक पर कृपा करो और उसे अपने दासों का दास बना लो॥ ४ ॥ ६॥
