ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਐਸੇ ਕਾਹੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੇ ॥ ਕਰਹਿ ਕਰਾਵਹਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਪੇਖਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਕਾਚ ਬਿਹਾਝਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਛਾਡਨ ਬੈਰੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੇਤੁ ਸਾਜਨ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਖਰੇ ॥ ਹੋਵਨੁ ਕਉਰਾ ਅਨਹੋਵਨੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਲਪਟਾਇ ਜਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਪਰਾਨੀ ਭਰਮ ਗੁਬਾਰ ਮੋਹ ਬੰਧਿ ਪਰੇ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹੋਤ ਦਇਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਕਾਢੈ ਬਾਹ ਫਰੇ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੯੬॥
English Translation
Bilawal Mahala Panjva ( Aise Kahe Bhool Pare )
O human being! Why are you so engrossed in doubts or misgivings? How could you disown your faults when the Lord is perceiving Your actions, being within You (being by your side)? Firstly, you are performing vicious and sinful actions, then you disown them and tell lies by denying having committed these mistakes. However, the True Master is watching everything Himself. (Pause - 1)
O Brother! You are interested in buying the vicious and sinful (actions) like glass while discarding the gold like True Name. You have discarded the company of holy saints, who are helpful in your well-being and leading a virtuous life, while developing a love for relations like son and wife, who are your enemies, causing your downfall and hurdles (in leading a virtuous life). O Man! You are burning in the fire of worldly desires by inculcating vicious thoughts in your mind. The Death, which is certain and the only Truth, is not liked by you (and considered bitter) but the uncertain life is considered sweet. (1)
The fact remains that this man has fallen in the abyss of a blind well and is caught in the bondage of worldly attachments, whims and fancies. O Nanank! The Guru lends a helping hand to those, who are blessed by the Lord's Grace and saves them by taking them out of this blind well. (2-10-96)

बिलावल महला ५ ॥ अैसे काहे भूल परे ॥ करहि करावहि मूकर पावहि पेखत सुनत सदा संग हरे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ काच बिहाझन कंचन छाडन बैरी संग हेत साजन त्याग खरे ॥ होवन कौरा अनहोवन मीठा बिखिआ महि लपटाय जरे ॥१॥ अंध कूप महि परिओ परानी भरम गुबार मोह बंध परे ॥ कहु नानक प्रभ होत दइआरा गुरु भेटै काढै बाह फरे ॥२॥१०॥९६॥
बिलावलु महला ५ ॥ पता नहीं मनुष्य क्यों भूला हुआ है ? वह स्वयं पाप-कर्म करता एवं करवाता है, लेकिन इस बात से इन्कार करता है। लेकिन ईश्वर सदैव साथ रहता हुआ सबकुछ देखता-सुनता रहता है॥ १॥ रहाउ॥ वह नाम रूपी कचन को छोड़कर माया रूपी काँच का सौदा करता है और अपने शत्रुओं-काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह एवं अहंकार से प्रेम करता है और अपने सज्जनों-सत्य, संतोष, दया, धर्म, पुण्य को त्याग देता है। उसे अविनाशी प्रभु कड़वा लगता है और नाशवान् संसार मीठा लगता है। वह माया रूपी विष से लिपट कर जल जाता है॥ १ ॥ ऐसे प्राणी अन्धकूप में गिरे हुए हैं और भ्रम के अँधेरे एवं मोह के बन्धनों में फॅसे हुए हैं। हे नानक ! जब प्रभु दयालु हो जाता है तो वह मनुष्य को गुरु से मिलाकर बांह पकड़कर उसे अंधकूप में से बाहर निकाल देता है॥ २ ॥ १० ॥ ६६ ॥

ਬਿਲਾਵਲ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਤੇਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਕਿਛ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ ॥ ਤੂੰ ਬਿਲੌਰ ਖਰੀਦਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਦੁਸ਼ਨਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥
ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਜੋ ਹੈ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੋੜਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਬਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਰਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਸੜ ਮੱਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥ ਫਾਨੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਦੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦੇ ਜੂੜਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬੰਦਾ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਂਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਬਾਹਰ ਧੂ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
