English Translation

( Siv Sakat Aap Upai Kai Karta... )

The Lord, who creates this world through the union of Siva and Shakti (Essence & Change) then directs them to follow His Will after creating the human beings. First, the Lord issues His dictates on human beings and then supervises all their actions as to how much they obey His dictates. But all this realization is gained by a few Guru-minded persons through the Grace of the Lord. Some Guru-minded persons are enabled by the Lord to develop a love for Him. O Nanak! The Lord Himself is the Creator and then enables man to follow the dictates of the Lord and makes him realize the value of His Will. (26)

All the twenty-seven Smritis and six Shastras discuss and talk about performing good and bad deeds or sins and virtuous actions in this life but they never mention anything about the real fact (True Name), that is the existence of the Lord and His realization or what is the perfect Truth?
We cannot appreciate or realize the real truth of life without the Guru's guidance, as with the study of Shastras or similar books we cannot get the information about how to attain the Lord. The whole world is engrossed in the three-pronged worldly falsehood consisting of lust for power, greed, and peace, with the result that the whole life is spent in wasteful efforts without realizing the Truth. But the persons, who have inculcated the Lord in their hearts, have been awakened from the slumber of ignorance with the Guru's Grace and they sing the Lord's praises with the help of the Guru's Word. (Gurbani).
O Nanak! The person who is engaged in reciting the Lord's True Name day and night, attains the Lord finally and such a person spends his life with the acquisition of true knowledge, in the attainment of the Lord. (27)

O Friend! How could we forget the Lord, who bestows us with protective care and sustenance in the mother's womb? The person, who is bestowed with the Lord's love and devotion cannot undergo any other sufferings or privations. The Lord Himself blesses such a person, whom He is pleased with, with His love and remembrance. Then such Guru-minded persons, always remember the Master and the Lord sustains such persons through His care.
O Nanak! We should never forget the Lord-benefactor, who is the greatest power on Earth, bestowing on us all His favors and benedictions, during this lifetime. (28)

The human being has to face the fire of worldly falsehood after being born, just as the fire in the mother's womb, as both are having the same effect of heat inside and outside. The Lord- Creator has created this world as a wonderful drama from the beginning. This man was born in the world when it pleased the Lord and the whole family felt happy on his birth. When this man got detached from the Lord's love, the worldly falsehood (Maya) took charge of the man, who got interested in worldly possessions and desires for worldly pleasures. This is all due to the wordy falsehood which forces man to forget the Lord and get involved in the love of worldly things due to dual-mindedness.
O Nanak! The Guru-minded persons, who are engaged in the love of the Lord through the Guru's Grace, have attained the Lord while living a householder's life amid worldly falsehood even. (29)

We cannot evaluate and gauge the greatness or vastness of the Lord, who is an invaluable gem; and no other person can even know the extent of the Lord's Greatness. Many people have tried and craved for gaining access to the Lord's vastness. We should offer ourselves as a sacrifice to the Guru, who helps us in getting rid of ego from the mind. The soul, which had been separated from the Lord, gets united with the Prime-soul and finally, the individual inculcates the Lord's love in his heart.
O Nanak! The Lord is really invaluable and the persons who are fortunate enough, get (absorbed) imbued with the Lord's Love. (30)

ਵਿਆਖਿਆ:

ਖ਼ੁਦ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਮਾਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਕੇ ਰਚਣਹਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਸਾਈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਮਰ ਚਾਲੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੇੜੀਆਂ ਕਟੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖੁਦ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

ਸਿਮ੍ਰਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਚੰਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਯਥਾਰਥ ਵਸਤੂ ਦੇ ਜੌਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਉਹ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਜੌਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ, ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਜੌਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ॥ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸੁਤੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਤਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰਾ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ, ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਜੌ ਅਮਿਉ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਗੂਰੁ ਜੀ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਸਾਰ, ਤੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਜਾਗ ਕੇ ਬਿਤਾਉੇਦਾਂ ਹੈ ॥

ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਆਪਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਈਏ ਜੋ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੱਚੇਦਾਨੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਡੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਪੋਸਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਐਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭਲਾਈਏ ਜੋ ਅੱਗ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਪੁਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁਚਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰ, ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਐਸੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਅਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਐਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਈਏ?

ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਗਰਭ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰਵਾਰਾਂ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਅੱਗ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੁਨਿਆਂਦਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਭ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਗਾਂ, ਸਮੂਹ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਨ ॥ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਖੇਡ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ ॥ ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਬਾਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਕਬੀਲਾ ਬੁਹਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਲੋਭ ਬਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੰਮੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਭਾਗ ਚਾਲੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਐਸੀ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਮੋਹਨੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਹੋਰਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥

ਖ਼ੁਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਮੁੱਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਪਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ॥ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਪਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਰੋਂਦੇ ਖੱਪਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਣ ਜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ॥ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੀਸ ਸਮਰਪਨ ਕਰ ਦੇ ॥ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ॥ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਹੈ, ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥

शिव शक्ति (चेतन एवं माया) को उत्पन्न करके ईश्वर स्वयं ही अपना हुक्म चला रहा है। वह हुक्म चलाकर स्वयं ही अपनी लीला को देखता रहता है, परन्तु किसी गुरुमुख को ही इस रहस्य की सूझ देता है जिसके मन में शब्द का निवास हो जाता है, वह सब बन्धनों को तोड़कर मुक्त हो जाता है। परमात्मा जिसे स्वयं बनाता है, वही गुरुमुख बनता है और वह एक परमेश्वर में ध्यान लगा लेता है। नानक कहते हैं कि स्रष्टा स्वयं ही अपने हुक्म की सूझ प्रदान करता है॥ २६॥

स्मृतियों एवं शास्त्र पाप-पुण्य का विचार करते हैं परन्तु वे भी सार तत्व को नहीं जानते। गुरु के बिना सार तत्व को नहीं जाना जाता, तत्व ज्ञान नहीं मिलता। त्रिगुणात्मक संसार अज्ञान की निद्रा में सोया हुआ है और अज्ञान की निद्रा में ही जीवन रूपी रात्रि व्यतीत हो जाती है। गुरु की कृपा से वही जीव अज्ञान की निद्रा से जागे हैं, जिनके मन में परमात्मा आ बसा है और वे अमृत-वाणी जपते रहते हैं। नानक कहते हैं कि उसे ही तत्व ज्ञान प्राप्त होता है, जिसकी दिन रात परमात्मा में लगन लगी रहती है और उसकी जीवन-रात्रि जाग्रत रहते ही बीत जाती है। २७ ॥

जो माता के उदर में भी पालन-पोषण करता है, उसे मन से क्यों भुलाएँ ? वह इतना बड़ा दाता है, उसे मन से कैसे भुलाया जा सकता है, जो गर्भाग्नि में हमें भोजन पहुँचाता है। वह जिसे अपनी लगन में लगा लेता है, उसे कोई दुख-दर्द स्पर्श नहीं कर सकता। सच तो यह है कि वह स्वयं ही अपनी लगन में लगाता है और गुरुमुख बनकर सदा ही उसे स्मरण करना चाहिए। नानक कहते हैं जो इतना बड़ा दाता है, उसे मन से क्यों भुलाएँ ? ॥ २८ ॥

जैसी अग्नि माता के गर्भ में है, वैसी ही वाहर माया है। माया एवं गर्भ की अग्नि दोनों एक समान ही (दुखदायक) हैं, ईश्वर ने यह एक लीला रची हुई है। जब ईश्वरेच्छा हुई तो ही शिशु का जन्म हुआ, जिससे पूरे परिवार में खुशी का वातावरण बन गया। जब शिशु का जन्म हुआ तो उसकी परमेश्वर से लगन छूट गई, तृष्णा लग गई और माया ने अपना हुक्म लागू कर दिया। यह माया ऐसी है, जिससे जीव परमात्मा को भूल जाता है, फिर उसके मन में मोह उत्पन्न हो जाता है और द्वैतभाव लग जाता है। नानक कहते हैं कि गुरु की कृपा से जिनकी ईश्वर में लगन लग गई है, उन्होंने माया में भी उसे प्राप्त कर लिया है॥ २६ ॥

ईश्वर स्वयं अमूल्य है और उसका मूल्यांकन नहीं किया जा सकता। किसी से भी उसका सही मूल्य ऑका नहीं जा सकता, कितने ही लोग उसके लिए रोते तरसते हार गए हैं। यदि सतगुरु मिल जाए, तो उसे अपना सिर अर्पण कर देना चाहिए, इससे मन का अहम् दूर हो जाता है। जिसके यह दिए हुए प्राण हैं, यदि जीव उससे मिला रहे तो परमात्मा मन में स्थित हो जाता है। हे नानक ! परमात्मा स्वयं अमूल्य है और वही भाग्यवान् है, जो उसे प्राप्त करता है॥ ३० ॥
