May Sangrand: Sangrand of Month Jeth is on May 15th, 2023 Monday. Let’s take Hukamnama from Guru Granth Sahib – drowning your souls in the Bani of Guru Arjan Dev Ji – the Poem of 12 Months – Barah Maha Manjh.

English Translation

During the month of Jeth, we should try to imbibe the love of the Lord in our hearts, before whom the whole world bows. If we attach ourselves to the Lord’s lotus feet; the Lord will bestow everything on us, as He is known for His mercy and care for those who seek refuge at His (lotus feet) door and He does not force any of His benedictions on us. (who do not seek) The Lord’s True Name is an invaluable gem that cannot be stolen away even by a thief

Whatever pleasures and enjoyments, we seek in this world are available from the Lord, but whatever He wills He makes us do accordingly. The persons, whom the Lord makes as Hig followers and slaves, are really deserving of our approbation. If everything were within the grasp of Man and one could take anything one loved, then why should he feel sorry at losing some coveted thing? (as He could take it back again if He wanted)

O Nanak! The holy saints, who have been blessed with the company of the Guru, enjoy the bliss of life in the Lord’s embrace So this month of Jeth is really enjoyable for those persons, who are pre-destined with good fortune and the Lord bestows His Grace on chem. (4)

Hindi Translation

जिस प्रभु के समक्ष सभी जीव शीश निवाते हैं, ज्येष्ठ के महीने उनके चरणों में जुड़ने का समय है। यदि उनकी आज्ञा में रहें तो वह यम आदि किसी को भी आज्ञा नहीं देता जो तुम्हें बांध कर अपने साथ ले चले। प्रभु का नाम माणिक मोतियों के मोल से परे है जिसे कोई चुरा नहीं सकता।

परमात्मा के जितने भी चमत्कार हो रहे हैं, वह सारे मन को प्यारे लगते हैं। प्रभु स्वयं, और उसके पैदा किए जीव वही कुछ करते हैं जो उस प्रभु को ठीक लगता है।

जिस लोगों को प्रभु ने अपना बना लिया है, उनको ही वाह वाही मिलती है। अगर जीवों के अपने उद्यम से मिल सकता होता, तो जीव उससे बिछुड़ के दुखी क्यूँ होते? हे नानक! प्रभु मिलाप का आनंद वही लेते हैं, जिन्हें गुरु मिल जाए। जिस मनुष्य के माथे पर भाग्य जागें, उसे जेठ महीना सुहावना लगता है। उसी को प्रभु मालिक मिलता है।4।

Punjabi Translation

ਜਿਸ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੇਠ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਹਰੀ ਸੱਜਣ ਦੇ ਲੜ ਲੱਗੇ ਰਹੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਕਿ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਾ ਲਏ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀਰੇ ਮੋਤੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਐਸਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਧਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਚੁਰਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਕੌਤਕ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ੇ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੋਣ? ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਨੰਦ ਉਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੇਠ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਾਲਕ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।4।
