Dhanasari Mahala 5th ( Jiska Tan Man Dhan Sabh Tis Ka ... )

The Lord, to whom all this mind, body, and wealth belongs, is the only wisest person (form) so we should surrender everything (body, mind, and soul) to Him. The Lord, having listened to my tale of joy and sorrow, has bestowed His favors and beautiful life on me. (1)

This man could only hope to offer his prayers to the Lord, who would love to listen to his supplications. This man has made all efforts except reciting True Name as such he has not been able to evaluate even slightly the Greatness of the Lord or to gauge His depth. (Pause).

Jewel of True Name

The Guru has bestowed the magical teaching of the jewel of True Name, the nectar and invaluable gem, which has enamored us completely. We have attained peace and tranquillity of mind through the Guru's guidance so that the mind does not falter anymore and the heart is fully satiated with this perfect gem of True Name. (2)

Now all the considerations of egoism and I-am-ness have been thrown aside (castaway) and vicious thoughts (of separation from the Lord) have been got rid of, with the filth of egoism removed, and everything else merged into the recitation of Lord's True Name, just as the (pure) gold bar is formed after removal of the dirt from the molten gold. (3)

With the enlightenment of the Lord's light and knowledge in the mind, we have attained bliss, equipoise, and honor (all around)· and the songs of the praises of the Lord were heard within the heart. (The all-pervasive music of Nature was heard through the Guru's Word). O, Nanak! The Guru has helped us to control (curb) the mind so that we have attained peace and bliss of life in the Lord's presence. (We have attained peace and tranquillity of mind through the Guru's guidance). (4-5)

धनासरी मः ५ ॥ जिस परमात्मा का मुझे तन, मन एवं धन दिया हुआ है, यह सबकुछ उसका ही पैदा किया हुआ है और वही चतुर एवं सर्वज्ञ है। जब उसने मेरा दुःख एवं सुख सुना तो मेरी दशा अच्छी बन गई॥१॥

मेरे मन की एक प्रार्थना ही परमात्मा के पास स्वीकार हुई है। मैं अन्य बहुत सारे यत्न करता रहा परन्तु मेरे मन ने एक तिल मात्र भी कीमत नहीं समझी॥ रहाउ॥

हरिनामामृत एक अनमोल हीरा है, गुरु ने मुझे यह नाम-मंत्र दिया है। अब मेरा मन विकारों के गड़े में नहीं गिरता और न ही इधर-उधर भटकता अपितु दृढ़ रहता है और इसके साथ मेरा मन पूर्णतया तृप्त हो गया है॥२॥

वह जो मेरे तेरे वाली भेदभावना थी, उनकी बात अब मिट गई हैं। जब स्वर्ण के आभूषण पिघल कर एक थैली बन जाते हैं तो उन आभूषणों को स्वर्ण ही कहा जाता है।॥३॥

मेरे मन में प्रभु की ज्योति प्रगट हो गई है और मन में सहज सुख उत्पन्न हो गया है।अब हर जगह मेरी शोभा हो रही है और मन में अनहद शब्द गूंज रहा है।

हे नानक ! मेरे मन ने दसम द्वार में अपना अटल घर बना लिया है परन्तु उसे बनाने का प्रबन्ध मेरे गुरु ने किया है॥४॥५॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਭੀ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ।

ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸੁਖ (ਸਦਾ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ-ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਦੋਂ (ਸਾਡੀ) ਹਾਲਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿੰਦ ਦੀ (ਅਰਦਾਸ) ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਲੋਕ) ਹੋਰ ਬਥੇਰੇ ਜਤਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜਤਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਇਕ ਤਿਲ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਹੀਰਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ।

ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਮੰਤਰ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੱਕੇ ਇਰਾਦੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੰਤੋਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨਾਮ-ਹੀਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਤਕਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਬੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਹਨ।

(ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਇਉਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗਹਣੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਗਾਲੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ) ਰੈਣੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਢੇਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਸੋਨਾ ਹੀ ਅਖਵਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸੋਭਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ - ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥
