ਰਾਗੁ ਗਉੜੀ ॥
ਪੰਥੁ ਨਿਹਾਰੈ ਕਾਮਨੀ ਲੋਚਨ ਭਰੀ ਲੇ ਉਸਾਸਾ ॥
ਉਰ ਨ ਭੀਜੈ ਪਗੁ ਨਾ ਖਿਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥੧॥
ਉਡਹੁ ਨ ਕਾਗਾ ਕਾਰੇ ॥
ਬੇਗਿ ਮਿਲੀਜੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਦ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤਰੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਤੱਕ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹਉਕੇ ਲੈ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੈਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਹੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਕਾਂ! ਉੱਡ ਜਾ (ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਗਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ)।
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਤੀ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਾਤਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਉਸੇ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

Raga Gauri
Wistfully she watches the path.
Her eyes reflecting her heavy heart.
Her breasts beat faster but her steps don't falter.
She passionately longs to meet her Lord.
Dear raven black, do please fly away.
So that I meet my Beau without delay. (1)
Says Kabir, to live a meaningful life,
One must meditate on the Lord.
The Creator's Name is the only support,

Raag Gour'i (Panth Niharai Kamni Lochan Bhari Le' ) Just as the woman heaves deep sighs in separation from her spouse with drenched eyes and goes up to watch his path (in his ) waiting for his home coming. Similarly man, in the fond hope Of meeing his Lord- Spouse is waiting for the Lord with love and devotion, but does not succeed in his anxiety. (1)
If we are really keen to meet our Lord-Spouse, we would try various ways and means to approach our Lord just as the woman waiting for her loving spouse, tries all means. (just as scaring away the crow-indicating some one's home coming) (Pause-I)
O Kabir! We should also worship and pray to the Lord for salvation. We could meet the Lord by reciting the Lord's True Name with our tongue in full concentration Of the mind and taking the support of True Name. (2-1-14-65)

प्रभु-मिलन की इच्छुक जीव-स्त्री राह ताक रही है, उसकी आँखें आंसुओं से भरी हैं और वह आहें भर रही है।
न उसका मन शांत होता है और न ही उसके पैर हिलते हैं, बस हरि के दर्शन की आस लगी है।
हे काले कौवे! उड़ जा (ताकि मुझे संकेत मिले कि मेरा प्रियतम आ रहा है)।
मैं अपने प्यारे राम से शीघ्र मिलना चाहती हूँ।
कबीर जी कहते हैं कि जीवन-मुक्ति के पद को पाने के लिए हरि की भक्ति करनी चाहिए।
केवल नारायण का नाम ही एकमात्र आधार है, इसलिए अपनी जिह्वा से राम नाम का जप करो।
