My Lord is the greatest power, unfathomable and beyond our comprehension, beyond our perception, and is free from worldly attachments. He is formless and the creator of all, ever existent from the beginning of ages and this universe; the Lord is such a True Master whose secrets of Nature are not known and whose greatness is beyond description and none has been able to perceive His vastness or greatness. The Lord knows Himself in His vast expanse of the universe and is totally beyond our reach. O Lord! This Man is too insignificant and small compared to You, so how could he sing Your praises or describe Your Greatness? The Guru-minded person, who is blessed with your Grace, through the Guru's guidance, could only attempt to consider your Greatness or Praises. So my Lord is the Almighty Lord, without any form or symbols and beyond my comprehension or perception. (1)

O Lord! You are the creator of this Universe and no one could describe Your Greatness or its vastness, as it is beyond our reach. O Lord! You are pervading everywhere and in all beings equally but no one has been able to gauge your depth or greatness. Such a Lord, devoid of any form, sign or symbol, is not perceivable by anyone and is beyond our comprehension. Only the Guru-minded persons have perceived His glimpse and helped others also to perceive Him, thus trying to describe His Greatness. Such Guru-minded persons enjoy the bliss of the Lord's glimpse day and night and merge with Him in the state of Equipoise.

O Lord! I have always considered You as the creator of this universe from the beginning, but no one has been able to limit Your greatness so far, as Your vastness is beyond our imagination. (2)

O Lord! You are True (unaffected by destruction) imperishable, and a treasure of all virtues; You are the Greatest and permanent power on Earth, the sole Master of this universe. There is none else equal in stature to You, as Your Greatness and might is known to You alone, neither there is another one as wise and intelligent as Yourself. Your might and cleverness is unparalleled. This Universe has been created by one Dictate of Yours and You pervade everywhere in equal measure. Whatever happens in the world is as ordained by Your Will, as it pleases you. The Lord pervades all human beings equally but the Guru-minded persons only perceive Your glimpse through meditation of True Name and then describe their experiences of True Name, O Lord! You are ever-existent and a True Master and you are the fountain-head of all virtues. (3)

O Lord! O True Master! You are the creator of all, almighty, greatest and praiseworthy Lord and you are managing this universe as it pleases You. The whole world follows Your dictates and accepts Your Will through the Guru's Word. The whole world accepts Your Will as per the Guru's guidance and feels honoured in following Your dictates. Once people realize this, through the Guru's guidance, they remain immersed in True Name by getting rid of their egoism.

O Nanak! Your form and will are beyond our comprehension, it is only the Guru-minded persons, who have realized the Lord who is beyond our senses, through the Guru's Word and are finally merged with Him.

O Lord! You are the greatest and purest Lord Almighty whose praises are being sung all over the Universe. The whole world moves as ordained by Your Will, and you control the world as it pleases You. (4-7-14).

आसा चतुर्थ गुरु.

मेरे महान भगवान अप्राप्य, अबोधगम्य, आदि निर्मल और निराकार हैं। उनकी स्थिति का वर्णन नहीं किया जा सकता, उनकी महिमा अपरिमेय है, मेरा संसार - भगवान अदृश्य और अनंत हैं। ब्रह्माण्ड का पालनकर्ता अनिर्वचनीय अनंत और असीम है वह स्वयं अपने आप को जानता है। इन बेचारे प्राणियों को क्या बोलना चाहिए जो हे भगवान, आपको वर्णन करने और वर्णन करने के समान होगा।वह जिस पर तू ने डाली है। गुरु निर्देश के तहत आपकी कृपा दृष्टि आप पर प्रतिबिंबित होती है। मेरे महान प्रभु अगम्य, अप्राप्य, शाश्वत, शुद्ध और निराकार हैं

हे आदि भगवान, आप सबसे दूरस्थ निर्माता हैं। आपकी सीमा सुनिश्चित नहीं की जा सकती. आप सभी हृदयों में अविच्छिन्न रूप से विद्यमान हैं और सभी वस्तुओं में आप समाहित हैं। मन के भीतर सर्वोत्कृष्ट भगवान सर्वोच्च गुरु हैं जिनका अंत नहीं पाया जा सकता। उसका कोई रूप या रूपरेखा नहीं है वह अदृश्य और अज्ञात है अदृश्य भगवान को गुरु के निर्देश से देखा जा सकता है जो भगवान को जानता है वह दिन-रात प्रसन्न रहता है और आसानी से उसके नाम में लीन हो जाता है। हे आदि भगवान, आप असीमित रचनाकार हैं, आपकी सीमा नहीं पाई जा सकती।

आप सच्चे परम स्वामी हैं, सदैव अविनाशी हैं, भगवान भगवान उत्कृष्टताओं (गुणों) का खजाना हैं। भगवान भगवान ही स्वामी हैं, लेकिन कोई दूसरा नहीं है, आप स्वयं सर्वज्ञ भगवान हैं। आप सर्वज्ञ और परम श्रेष्ठ भगवान हैं, आपके समान कोई भी महान नहीं है। आपकी ही आज्ञा है कि आप सभी चीज़ों में व्याप्त हैं। आप जो करते हैं वही होता है। वह एक ही भगवान सभी में समाहित है और गुरु के माध्यम से भगवान का नाम समझा जाता है। आप सच्चे सर्वोच्च गुरु हैं और सदैव अविनाशी हैं। प्रभु भगवान् उत्कृष्टताओं का भण्डार हैं

आप सृष्टिकर्ता हैं, सभी महानताएं पतली हैं और जैसा आप चाहते हैं, वैसे ही आप नश्वर को प्रेरित करते हैं। जैसा तू स्वयं चाहता है, वैसे ही तू प्राणियों को चलाता है। आपकी आज्ञा में सभी समाहित हैं (आपके आदेश के अधीन) सभी आपके आदेश के अधीन हैं और जब आप ऐसा चाहते हैं तो मनुष्य नाम के माध्यम से महानता प्राप्त करता है। गुरु के माध्यम से व्यक्ति ज्ञान प्राप्त करता है, अहंकार मिटाता है और भगवान में लीन रहता है। नानक, गुरु के माध्यम से आपका अतुलनीय नाम प्राप्त होता है और मनुष्य हे भगवान में लीन रहता है। आप सभी के निर्माता हैं. सारी महानता आपकी है. जो तुम्हें अच्छा लगे उसी प्रकार तुम मनुष्यों को चलाओ।

ਮੇਰਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਹਾਨ, ਅਪਹੁੰਚ, ਅਥਾਹ, ਆਦਿ, ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਾਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ; ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਦਿੱਖ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ। ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਪੇ ॥ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਰੀਬ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ? ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ? ਉਹ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਹਾਨ, ਅਪਹੁੰਚ, ਅਥਾਹ, ਆਦਿ, ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਾਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ||1||

ਤੂੰ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਹੇ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ; ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਸੀਮਾਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ। ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ। ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੀਮਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਰੂਪ ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਅਣਜਾਣ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਅਨੰਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਹੇ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ; ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਸੀਮਾਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ। ||2||

ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈਂ। ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਕੇਵਲ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ; ਇੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈਂ। ਤੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈਂ, ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੈ; ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ; ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪੂਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈਂ। ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ। ||3||

ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਸਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਕਥ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਨਾਨਕ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ||4||7||14||
