ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਜਪਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ

English Translation

Ramkali Mahala - 5 ( Rain Dinas Japo Har Naam )
(O Brother!) Let us recite the Lord's True Name alone (by day and night) all the time so that we could find an honorable place in the Lord's presence. This is how we could enjoy eternal bliss without suffering any afflictions and never get engrossed in egoism and haughtiness. (1)

O, saints! Let us seek the all-pervasive Lord, who is omniscient and omnipotent. O, Man! Let us recite the True Name of the Lord so as to attain the highest state of equipoise and bliss, resulting in attaining the joy and eternal bliss of the blissful Lord with a stabilized mind. (Pause - 1)

By all considerations and deliberations like evaluating and measuring various means of enjoying spiritual bliss, it would be seen that except the support of the Lord's True Name, nothing else could enable us to cross this ocean of life successfully. It is only the love of the Lord that would help us to swim across this arduous ocean as none of the other efforts would be of any avail. (nothing else accompanies us to the next world.) (2)

Dehi Dhoye Na Utre Mael

By (bathing) washing the body alone we cannot get purified, as we are always engrossed in egoism and dual-mindedness. However, the person, who partakes in the panacea of all ills, the True Name of the Lord, gets cured (freed from) all his ills and afflictions. (3)

O Lord-benefactor ! May You bless us with Your Grace, so that we may not forsake the Lord's love and worship even for a moment from our heart. O, Lord! Pray to make me the dust of the lotus-feet of Your holy saints (Your devotees) make us humble) O Nanak! May the Lord fulfill my desires and hopes of uniting with the Lord. (4 - 22 - 33)

रामकली महला ५ ॥ ( Rain Dinas Japo Har Naam ) रात-दिन हरि-नाम का जाप करो, इस तरह आगे प्रभु-दरबार में स्थान प्राप्त हो जाएगा। फिर सदैव आनंद बना रहेगा और कभी कोई शोक-चिंता नहीं लगेगी। अहंकार का रोग भी कभी प्रभावित नहीं करेगा ॥ १॥

हे भक्तजनो, किसी ब्रह्मज्ञानी की खोज करो। हरि की महिमा को देखकर बड़ी हैरानी होती है। हे प्राणी ! हरि का स्मरण करने से परमगति प्राप्त हो जाती है॥ १॥ रहाउ ॥

चाहे इस संदर्भ में सोच-समझ कर विचार करके देख लो, नाम के बिना कोई भी संसार-सागर से पार नहीं हो सकता । अनेक प्रकार के सब उपाय भी साथ नहीं देने वाले, अपितु प्रभु के रंग में लीन होने से ही भवसागर से पार हुआ जा सकता है॥ २॥

शरीर को धोने से मन की मैल साफ नहीं होती, अपितु अहंकार में और वृद्धि हो जाती है और दुविधा भी फैल जाती है। जो व्यक्ति हरि-नाम रूपी औषधि को सेवन करता है, उसका सब प्रकार का रोग मिट जाता है॥ ३॥

हे दयालु परब्रह्म! ऐसी कृपा करो कि मन में कभी भी तुम विस्मृत न हो पाओ। हे प्रभु ! तेरे दास की चरण-धूलि बन जाऊँ, नानक की यह श्रद्धा पूरी करो ॥ ४॥ २२ ॥ ३३ ॥
