Shaheedan-e-Wafa narrates the sacrifice of Baba Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh when Young princes were bricked alive in Sarhind, while Ganj-e-Shaheedan describes the battle of Chamkaur and the martyrdom of Sahibzada Ajit Singh and Fateh Singh.

Hakim Allah Yaar Khan Jogi was a Muslim poet who wrote the most emotional 'Marsiyas' on the supreme martyrdom of the Elder and Younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He was excommunicated from Islam for his creations yet is revered in Sikhism for the two poems as no other poetry is close in terms of the emotions of Sikhs.

The present book has been completely transliterated into Gurmukhi Script with the meaning of difficult Persian words at the bottom of each page.

ਹਾਥੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਹਾਥ ਡਾਲ ਕੇ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਵਹ ਨੌਨਿਹਾਲ ।
ਕਹਤੇ ਹੁਏ ਜ਼ਬਾਂ ਸੇ ਬੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ।
ਚਿਹਰੋਂ ਪਿ ਗ਼ਮ ਕਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਾ ਥਾ ਔਰ ਨਾ ਥਾ ਮਲਾਲ ।
ਜਾ ਠਹਰੇ ਸਰ ਪਿ ਮੌਤ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਨਾ ਥਾ ਖ਼ਯਾਲ ।
ਜਿਸ ਦਮ ਗਲੇ ਗਲੇ ਥੇ ਵੁਹ ਮਾਸੂਮ ਗੜ ਗਏ ।
ਦਿਨ ਛੁਪਨੇ ਭੀ ਨਾ ਪਾਯਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਤਿਲ ਉਜੜ ਗਏ ।
ਦੀਵਾਰ ਕੇ ਦਬਾਓ ਸੇ ਜਬ ਹਬਸ-ਏ-ਦਮ ਹੁਆ ।
ਦੌਰਾਨ-ਏ-ਖ਼ੂਨ ਰੁਕਨੇ ਲਗਾ, ਸਾਂਸ ਕਮ ਹੁਆ ।
ਫ਼ਰਮਾਏ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਹਮ ਪਿ ਬਜ਼ਾਹਿਰ ਸਿਤਮ ਹੁਆ ।
ਬਾਤਿਨ ਮੇਂ ਪੰਥ ਪਰ ਹੈ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਕਾ ਕਰਮ ਹੁਆ ।
ਸਦ ਸਾਲ ਔਰ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਮਰਨਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਥਾ ।
ਸਰ ਕੌਮ ਸੇ ਬਚਾਨਾ ਯਿਹ ਗ਼ੈਰਤ ਸੇ ਦੂਰ ਥਾ ।
ਹਮ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਔਰੌਂ ਕੀ ਜਾਨੇਂ ਬਚਾ ਚਲੇ ।
ਸਿੱਖੀ ਕੀ ਨੀਂਵ ਹਮ ਹੈਂ ਸਰੋਂ ਪਰ ਉਠਾ ਚਲੇ ।
ਗੁਰਿਆਈ ਕਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿੱਸਾ ਜਹਾਂ ਮੇਂ ਬਨਾ ਚਲੇ ।
ਸਿੰਘੋਂ ਕੀ ਸਲਤਨਤ ਕਾ ਹੈਂ ਪੌਦਾ ਲਗਾ ਚਲੇ ।
ਗੱਦੀ ਸੇ ਤਾਜ-ਓ-ਤਖ਼ਤ ਬਸ ਅਬ ਕੌਮ ਪਾਏਗੀ ।
ਦੁਨੀਯਾ ਸੇ ਜ਼ਾਲਿਮੋਂ ਕਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਕ ਮਿਟਾਏਗੀ ।
ਠੋਡੀ ਤਕ ਈਂਟੇਂ ਚੁਨ ਦੀ ਗਈਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਤਕ ਆ ਗਈਂ ।
ਬੀਨੀ ਕੋ ਢਾਂਪਤੇ ਹੀ ਵੁਹ ਆਂਖੋਂ ਪਿ ਛਾ ਗਈਂ ।
ਹਰ ਚਾਂਦ ਸੀ ਜਬੀਨ ਕੋ ਘਨ ਸਾ ਲਗਾ ਗਈਂ ।
ਲਖ਼ਤ-ਏ-ਜਿਗਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਵੁਹ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਛੁਪਾ ਗਈਂ ।
ਜੋਗੀ ਜੀ ਇਸ ਕੇ ਬਾਦ ਹੂਈ ਥੋੜੀ ਦੇਰ ਥੀ ।
ਬਸਤੀ ਸਰਹਿੰਦ ਸ਼ਹਰ ਕੀ ਈਂਟੋਂ ਕਾ ਢੇਰ ਥੀ ।
