English Translation

Slok Mahalla 3rd:
( Apna Aap Na Pachhanaee... )
The person, who has not attained self-realization, has considered the Lord a distant entity. How could his (mind) heart be close to the Guru, when he has forgotten the service of the Guru? The self-willed (faithless) person has wasted his life, having developed a love for the greed of worldly possessions. O Nanak! The Lord has united such persons with Himself by pardoning their sinful actions, as they have followed the Guru's Word, being accepted as His devotees. (1)

Mahalla 3rd:
The persons, who have sung the praises of the True Lord and recited the True Name in the company of the Guru-minded persons, have enjoyed eternal bliss by repeating the True Name day and night. They have attained the Lord being fortunate and enjoyed the bliss of life. O-Nanak! By singing the praises of the Lord, the devotee has cast away the worries of the body and mind.

Pouri:
If some vilifier of the Guru seeks the Guru's pardon by taking refuge at his lotus feet, and he is united with the company of the holy saints by the Guru pardoning his earlier sins. Just as the water of the (nullahs) drains mingles with the river Ganga and gets purified by mixing with it. Similarly, this is the greatness and grandeur of the Guru, who has no enmity (for anyone), that in His company, one loses all the hunger and the fire of worldly possessions, resulting in the peace of his mind due to the love of the Lord. O Nanak! See the incredible drama of the True Master, my beloved Lord, that the person following the Guru's Word is always loved by everyone else! (13 - 1 - checked)

( Apna Aap Na Pachhanaee... ) श्लोक महला ३॥ जो व्यक्ति अपने आपको नहीं पहचानता, वह प्रभु को भी दूर ही समझता है। जब उसे गुरु की सेवा ही भूल गई है तो उसका मन परमात्मा में कैसे टिक सकता है? झूठे लालच में फँस कर मनमुख ने अपना जन्म व्यर्थ ही गंवा दिया है। हे नानक ! जो शब्द के चिन्तन में लीन रहते हैं, परमात्मा ने उन्हें क्षमा करके स्वयं ही साथ मिला लिया है॥ १ ॥

महला ३॥ सच्चे प्रभु का यशगान करो, गुरुमुख बनकर उसका ही नाम स्मरण करो। नित्य नाम की स्तुति करनी चाहिए, हरि का नाम जपने से मन में आनंद पैदा हो जाता है। किसी भाग्यशाली ने ही पूर्ण परमानंद परमात्मा को प्राप्त किया है। हे नानक ! जिन्होंने नाम की स्तुति की है, उनके मन-तन में पुनः कभी कोई रुकावट नहीं आई॥ २॥

पौड़ी ॥ यदि कोई सतगुरु का निंदक हो, परन्तु वह फिर से गुरु की शरण में आ जाए तो सतगुरु उसके पिछले गुनाह क्षमा करके उसे सत्संगति से मिला देता है। जैसे बारिश होने पर गलियों, नालियों एवं तालाबों का जल जाकर गंगा में मिल जाता है तो वह गंगा में मिलने से पवित्र-पावन हो जाता है। यही बड़ाई निर्वेर सतगुरु में है कि उसे मिलने से इन्सान की तृष्णा एवं भूख दूर हो जाती है और मन में हरेि के मिलाप से तुरंत शान्ति पैदा हो जाती है। हे नानक ! मेरे सच्चे बादशाह हरि का अद्भुत कौतुक देखो कि जो व्यक्ति सतगुरु को श्रद्धा से मानता है, वह सबको प्यारा लगता है॥ १३॥ १॥ शुद्ध ॥

( Apna Aap Na Pachhanaee... ) ਸਲੋਕ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਰੇਡੇ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨੂਆ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰਾ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਸੱਤਿ ਲੋਭ ਅਤੇ ਕੂੜ ਕੁਸੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਆਫ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ॥ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਸਦਕਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਜੱਗ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਚਿੱਤ, ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਭਾਰੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਲਭਧ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਫਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਗੇ ॥

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਦਖੋਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਪਾਪ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮੁਆਫ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰਸ਼ ਪੈਣ ਨਾਲ ਕੂਚਿਆਂ, ਨਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਛੱਪੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਗੰਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਗੰਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਣ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਪਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੈ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤਰੇਹ ਤੇ ਭੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦਾ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ, ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
