Tilang Mahalaa 4th
Har Keeaa Kathhaa Kahaaneeaa Gur Meet Sunaaeeaa. Balehaaree Gur Aapne Gur Kau Bal Jaaeeaa (1)

I would offer myself as a sacrifice to the Guru with body and soul, having listened to the discourses and stories about the Grandeur and Greatness of the Lord. (1)

Aae Mil Gursikh Aae Mil Too Mere Guroo Ke Piaare( Rahaao(Har Ke Gun Har Bhaavde Se Guroo Te Paae. Jin Gur Kaa Bhaanaa Manneaa Tin Ghum Ghum Jaae (2)

O, beloved Gursikh! Pray, take me into your embrace, as you are a devoted Sikh of my beloved Guru! (Pause) O, my beloved saints of the Lord! You are loved by and devoted to the Lord, having imbibed all the virtues of the Lord in the company of the True Guru. I would offer my body and soul as a sacrifice to the Guru-minded person repeatedly, who has followed the Guru's Will and recited the Lord's True Name. (2)

Jin Satgur Piaaraa Dekheaa Tin Kau Hau Vaaree. Jin Gur Kee Keetee Chaakaree Tin Sad Balehaaree (3)

I am all praise for those Guru-minded persons, who have perceived a glimpse of the True Guru and served Him all the time, thus offering my sacrifice to them. (3)

Har Har Teraa Naam Hai Dukh Mettanhaaraa. Gur Sevaa Te Paaeeai Gurmukh Nistaaraa (4)

O, Lord! It is only Your True Name, that enables us to visualize the Lord's form and vision and then (does away with) removes all our sufferings. Such a dear and lovable Name is attained through the service of the Guru alone; and those persons, who have attained this True Name, attain salvation from this world. (4)

Jo Har Naam Dhhiaaede Te Jan Parvaanaa. Tin Vittahu Naanak Vaareaa Sadaa Sadaa Kurbaanaa (5)

The persons, who remember and repeat the Lord's True Name, are always accepted by the Lord in His Presence. O, Nanak! I am always offering myself as a sacrifice (surrender myself) to such Guru-minded persons, who have attained unity with the Lord. (5)

Saa Har Teree Oustat Hai Jo Har Prabh Bhaavai. Jo Gurmukh Piaaraa Sevade Tin Har Fal Paavai (6)

O, Brother! The praises of the Lord are worth singing, which are liked and approved by the Lord. The persons, who attain self-realization through developing a love for the Lord, are bestowed with all the fruits of their good actions by the Lord. (6)

Jinaa Har Setee Pirharree Tinaa Jeea Prabh Naale. Oe Jap Jap Piaaraa Jeevade Har Naam Samaale (7)

The persons, who are immersed in the love of the Lord, always inculcate the Lord's devotion in their hearts and they spend their lives in the meditation of the True Name by developing immense love for the True Name, leaving all attachment of Maya (worldly falsehood) (7)

Jin Gurmukh Piaaraa Seveaa Tin Kau Ghum Jaaeaa. Oe Aap Shhutte Parvaar Siu Sabh Jagat Shhaddaaeaa (8)

O, Brother! I offer myself as a sacrifice to the Guru-minded persons, who have served the Lord by developing a love for Him. They have escaped, along with their family members, the cycle of births and deaths and their sufferings, helping others as well, to attain salvation, who accompany them; thus they help the whole world along with them. (8)

Gur Piaarai Har Seveaa Gur Dhhann Gur Dhhanno. Gur Har Maarag Daseaa Gur Punn Vadd Punno (9)

Such a Guru is praiseworthy deserving our sacrifice, who has served the beloved Lord and recited His True Name. The True Guru, who has shown us the right path towards uniting with the Lord, has performed great deeds of virtuous types deserving our acclaim. (9).

Jo Gursikh Gur Sevde Se Punn Paraanee. Jan Naanak Tin Kau Vaareaa Sadaa Sadaa Kurbaanee (10)

The Gursikhs, who serve such a Guru, deserve all the praise and approbation for their service. O, Nanak! I am always ready to sacrifice myself to the Guru-minded persons serving the Guru. (10)

Gurmukh Sakhee Saheleeaa Se Aap Har Bhaaeeaa.Har Dargeh Painaaeeaa Har Aap Gal Laaeeaa (11)

The Lord loves and likes such Gur.1-minded persons, who are united with the Lord, thus finding favor and acceptance with the Lord in His presence,( court) as they have earned the clasp (embrace) of the Lord. ( 11)

Jo Gurmukh Naam Dhhiaaede Tin Darsan Deejai. Ham Tin Ke Charan Pakhaalde Dhhoorr Ghol Ghol Peejai (12)

OLord!MaylhaveaglimpseofthoseGuru-minded persons, who recite Your True Name! I would love to drink the washing of His sweet lotus-feet with water including the dust of His lotu.~feet (to be prepared with water.) (12)

Paan Supaaree Khaateeaa Mukh Beerreeaa Laaeeaa. Har Har Kade N Cheteo Jam Pakarr Chalaaeeaa (13)

The persons, who are engrossed in vices like eating betel- nuts or supari and then smoking cigarettes without ever remembering the Lord's True Name, are thrown into hell by the Yama. (13)

Jin Har Naamaa Har Cheteaa Hirdai Our Dhhaare. Tin Jam Nerr N Aavaee Gursikh Gur Piaare (14)

The persons, who have remembered the Lord by inculcating His True Name within their hearts, are not visited by the Yama even, as they are the true servants and beloved Gursikhs of the Guru. (14)

Har Kaa Naam Nidhhaan Hai Koee Gurmukh Jaanai. Naanak Jin Satgur Bhetteaa Rang Raleeaa Maanai (15)

O, Nanak! The Lord's True Name is the fountainhead of all the joy and comforts in life, but this point is realized by few Guru-minded persons. The persons, who have been fortunate in having attained the Lord, always enjoy the bliss of life in union with the Lord. (15)

Satgur Daataa Aakheeai Tus Kare Pasaao. Hau Gur Vittahu Sad Vaareaa Jin Ditrraa Naao (16)

O, Brother! The True Guru, who bestows His True Name on us, is known as the benefactor (of True Name), when it pleases Him. We are a sacrifice to such a True Guru, who has bestowed on us the boon of True Name through His Grace. (16)

So Dhhann Guroo Saabaas Hai Har Dey Sanehaa. Hau Vekh Vekh Guroo Vigseaa Gur Satgur Dehaa (17)

The Guru deserves all the thanks and praises for conveying the purest and highest message of the Guru. I would offer myself as a sacrifice to such a Guru proclaiming automatically "O, wonderful Lord! You are truly wonderful!" O, Guru! My joy has known no bounds, on perceiving You in physical form. (17)

Gur Rasnaa Amrit Boldee Har Naam Suhaavee. Jin Sun Sikhaa Gur Manneaa Tinaa Bhukh Sabh Jaavee (18)

The Lord's tongue appears sweet and beautiful while reciting the nectar of the Lord's True Name. The persons, who have followed the Guru's message and instructions in practice, having listened to it, have satiated their hunger and got rid of their sufferings. ( 18)

Har Kaa Maarag Aakheeai Kahu Kit Bidhh Jaaeeai. Har Har Teraa Naam Hai Har Kharch Lai Jaaeeai (19)

O, holy saints! Pray to guide us on the true path of attaining the True Lord, by giving us the right lead along with all the formal practices. O, Brother! Only the Lord's True Name will give us the passage to the next world. We could thus approach the Lord's Presence by amassing the True Name as our (stock of) food for the passage, on the way to the next world, after death. (19)

Jin Gurmukh Har Aaraadhheaa Se Saah Vadd Daane. Hau Satgur Kau Sad Vaareaa Gur Bachan Samaane (20)

The Guru-minded persons, who have remembered the Lord, are considered to be the greatest land-lords and wealthiest men. I would offer myself as a sacrifice to such a Guru, whose message has been preserved within my heart. O, Lord! You are my True Master and the wealthiest person on earth. I would offer myself as a sacrifice to such a Guru, whose message has been inculcated within my heart. (20)

Too Thaakur Too Saahibo Toohai Meraa Meeraa. Tudhh Bhaavai Teree Bandgee Too Gunee Gaheeraa (21)

O, Lord! You are my True Master! King of Kings and Master of all Your Creation! You are the ocean of virtues, and (appreciate) love Your worship by Your devotees. (21)

Aape Har Ik Rang Hai Aape Bahu Rangee. Jo Tis Bhaavai Naankaa Saaee Gal Changee (22-2)

O, Nanak! The Lord possesses one form and one hue, being formless and then He appears in myriad shades and hues in His Physical form. We should accept whatever pleases the Lord and follow in practice whatever is ordained by the Lord. (22 - 2)

हर कीआ कथा कहाणीआ गुर मीत सुणाईआ ॥ बलिहारी गुर आपणे गुर कओ बल जाईआ ॥१॥ आए मिल गुरसिख आए मिल तू मेरे गुरू के प्यारे ॥ रहाउ ॥ हर के गुण हर भावदे से गुरू ते पाए ॥ जिन गुर का भाणा मंनिआ तिन घुम घुम जाए ॥२॥ जिन सतगुर प्यारा देखया तिन कओ हओ वारी ॥ जिन गुर की कीती चाकरी तिन सद बलिहारी ॥३॥

हर हर तेरा नाम है दुख मेटणहारा ॥ गुर सेवा ते पाईऐ गुरमुख निसतारा ॥४॥ जो हर नाम धिआएदे ते जन परवाना ॥ तिन विटहु नानक वारेआ सदा सदा कुरबाना ॥५॥ सा हर तेरी उसतत है जो हर प्रभ भावै ॥ जो गुरमुख प्यारा सेवदे तिन हर फल पावै ॥६॥ जिना हर सेती पिरहड़ी तिना जीअ प्रभ नाले ॥ ओए जप जप प्यारा जीवदे हर नाम समाले ॥७॥

गुरमुख सखी सहेलीआ से आप हर भाईआ ॥ हर दरगह पैनाईआ हर आप गल लाईआ ॥११॥ जो गुरमुख नाम धिआएदे तिन दरसन दीजै ॥ हम तिन के चरण पखालदे धूड़ घोल घोल पीजै ॥१२॥ पान सुपारी खातीआ मुख बीड़ीआ लाईआ ॥ हर हर कदे न चेतेओ जम पकड़ चलाईआ ॥१३॥ जिन हर नामा हर चेतेआ हिरदै उर धारे ॥ तिन जम नेड़ न आवई गुरसिख गुर प्यारे ॥१४॥

हर का नाम निधान है कोई गुरमुख जाणै ॥ नानक जिन सतगुर भेटेया रंग रलीआ माणै ॥१५॥ सतगुर दाता आखीऐ तुस करे पसाओ ॥ हओ गुर विटहु सद वारेआ जिन दितड़ा नाओ ॥१६॥ सो धन गुरू साबास है हर देइ सनेहा ॥ हओ वेख वेख गुरू विगसेआ गुर सतिगुर देहा ॥१७॥ गुर रसना अमृत बोलदी हर नाम सुहावी ॥ जिन सुण सिखा गुरु मंनेआ तिना भुख सभ जावी ॥१८॥

हर का मारग आखीऐ कहु कित बिध जाईऐ ॥ हर हर तेरा नाम है हर खरच लै जाईऐ ॥१९॥ जिन गुरमुख हर आराधेआ से साह वड दाणे ॥ हओ सतिगुर कओ सद वारेआ गुर बचन समाणे ॥२०॥ तू ठाकुर तू साहिबो तूहै मेरा मीरा ॥ तुधु भावै तेरी बंदगी तू गुणी गहीरा ॥२१॥ आपे हर इक रंग है आपे बहु रंगी ॥ जो तिस भावै नानका साई गल चंगी ॥२२॥२॥

तिलंग महला ४ ॥

हरि की कथा-कहानियाँ मुझे मित्र गुरु ने सुनाई हैं। मैं अपने गुरु पर बलिहारी हूँ और उस पर ही कुर्बान जाता हूँ॥ १॥

हे गुरु के शिष्य ! मुझे आकर मिल। हे मेरे गुरु के प्यारे ! तू मुझे आकर मिल॥ रहाउ॥

हरि के गुण हरि को बहुत अच्छे लगते हैं और वे गुण मैंने गुरु से पाए हैं। जिन्होंने गुरु की रज़ा को खुशी-खुशी माना है, मैं उन पर हमेशा कुर्बान जाता हूँ॥ २॥

जिन्होंने प्यारे सतिगुरु के दर्शन किए हैं, मैं उन पर बार-बार कुर्बान जाता हूँ।

जिन्होंने गुरु की चाकरी की है, उन पर मैं सदैव बलिहारी हूँ॥ ३॥

हर हर तेरा नाम है...

हे प्रभु! तेरा नाभ सबदुःख मिटाने वाला है। यह (नाम) गुरु की सेवा करने से पाया जाता है तथा गुरुमुख बनने से आदमी का भवसागर से उद्धार हो जाता है॥ ४॥

जो व्यक्ति हरि-नाम का ध्यान करते हैं वे प्रभु को परवान हो जाते हैं। नानक उन पर न्योछावर है और हमेशा ही कुर्बान जाता है। ५॥

हे हरि ! वही तेरी उस्तति है, जो तुझे अच्छी लगती है। जो गुरुमुख प्यारे प्रभु की सेवा करते हैं, वे फल पा लेते हैं।॥ ६॥

जिन लोगों का हरि से प्रेम हो जाता है उनके दिल प्रभु से ही मिले रहते हैं। वे अपने प्यारे प्रभु को जप-जप कर ही जिंदा रहते हैं और हरि का नाम ही याद करते रहते हैं ॥ ७॥

जिन गुरुमुखों ने प्यारे प्रभु का सिमरन किया है, मैं उन पर बार-बार कुर्बान जाता हूँ। वे अपने परिवार सहित स्वयं छूट गए हैं और उन्होंने सारे जगत् को भी छुड़ा लिया है॥ ८ ॥

मेरे प्यारे गुरु ने हरि का सिमरन किया है, इसलिए मेरा गुरु धन्य-धन्य है। गुरु ने मुझे हरि का मार्ग बताया है, गुरु ने मुझ पर बड़ा उपकार किया है॥९॥

जो गुरु के शिष्य अपने गुरु की सेवा करते हैं, वे उत्तम प्राणी हैं। नानक उन पर ही न्योछावर है और सदा उन पर कुर्बान जाता है॥ १०॥

गुरमुख सखी सहेलीआ...

गुरुमुख सखी-सहेलियाँ आप हरि को अच्छी लगी हैं। हरि के दरबार में उन्हें शोभा का वस्त्र पहनाया है और हरि ने स्वयं ही उन्हें अपने गले से लगाया है॥ ११॥

हे प्रभु ! जो गुरुमुख तेरे नाम का ध्यान करते हैं, मुझे उनके दर्शन दीजिए। मैं उनके चरण धोता हूँ और उनकी चरण-धूलि घोल-घोलकर पीता हूँ॥ १२॥

जो जीव-स्त्रियाँ पान-सुपारी खाती हैं और मुँह पर लिपस्टिक लगाती हैं, और हरि को कभी याद नहीं करती तो यम उन्हें पकड़कर आगे लगा लेता है॥ १३ ॥

जिन्होंने हरि को याद किया है और हरि-नाम को अपने हृदय में बसाया है, यम उनके निकट नहीं आता वे गुरु के शिष्य गुरु के प्यारे होते हैं।॥ १४॥

हरि का नाम सुखों का भण्डार है लेकिन कोई गुरुमुख ही इस भेद को जानता है। हे नानक ! जिन्हें सतिगुरु मिल गया है, वे खुशियाँ मनाते हैं॥ १५॥

सतिगुरु को दाता कहा जाता है, जो खुश होकर नाम-देन की कृपा करता है। मैं गुरु परं सदा ही कुर्बान जाता हूँ, जिसने मुझे परमात्मा का नाम दिया है ॥१६॥

सो धन गुरू साबास है...

वह गुरु धन्य है, मेरी उसे शाबाश है, जो मुझे हरि का संदेश देता है। मैं गुरु को देख-देखकर खुश हो गया हूँ और उस गुरु का रूप बहुत सुन्दर है॥ १७॥

गुरु की रसना अमृत रूपी नाम बोलती है और वह हरि नाम बोलती हुई बड़ी सुन्दर लगती है। जिन्होंने गुरु की शिक्षा को सुनकर उस पर भरोसा किया है, उनकी सारी भूख दूर हो गई है॥ १८ ॥

मुझे बताओ, उस मार्ग पर किंस विधि द्वारा जाया जाता है, जिसे हरि का मार्ग कहा जाता है।

हे हरि ! जो तेरा हरि-नाम है, उस नाम को यात्रा खर्च के तौर पर अपने साथ ले जाना चाहिए॥ १६॥

जिन गुरुमुखों ने हरि की आराधना की है, वे बड़े शाह एवं चतुर हैं। मैं सतिगुरु पर सदा ही कुर्बान जाता हूँ और गुरु के वचनों में लीन रहता हूँ॥ २०॥

हे हरि ! तू ही मेरा स्वामी है, तू ही मेरा मालिक है, तू ही मेरा बादशाह है। यदि तुझे अच्छा लगे तो ही तेरी बंदगी कर सकता हूँ, तू गुणों का गहरा सागर है॥ २१॥

हरि स्वयं ही एक रंग वाला है और स्वयं ही बहुरंगी है। हे नानक ! जो उस प्रभु को अच्छा लगता है, मेरे लिए वही बात अच्छी है॥ २२॥ २॥
