Mukhwak: Manas Bharia Aania Manas Bharia Aaye; from pious bani of Sahib Sri Guru Amardas Ji, documented on Ang 554 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji under Raga Bihagda.

English Translation

Slok Mahalla 3rd ( Manas Bharia Aania Manas Bharia Aaye ) One person has brought the vessel filled with wine, while another person takes a cup full of wine from this vessel. On taking this wine, one's intelligence gets impaired and one starts talking foul language due to its ill effects on one's mind. Then the individual cannot differentiate (appreciate) a known person from an unknown person, as a result of which the Lord is forgotten and one gets punished in the Lord's court as well, which should be avoided.

O, Brother! We should avoid normally such a wine which creates such false and unpleasant reactions. O Nanak! The Guru-minded persons, whom the Lord bestows His unison, finally attains the True Name in the form of a true wine, with the Guru's Grace. By partaking in the wine of True Name, such persons remain imbued with the love of the Lord, thus finding a place of honor in the Lord's presence. (1)

Mahalla 3rd When a man accepts death from the worldly (pleasure) angle, then he attains self-realization; so when the world also discards the worldly attractions, it gets the true realization. When the Lord makes (puts) man in the slumber of ignorance, he remains engrossed (asleep) in his lack of knowledge, but when the Lord awakens him through the Guru's guidance, then only he attains the true realization and becomes aware of Truth. O Nanak! It is only through the Grace of the Lord that one meets the True Guru. That is how a man could accept death (freedom) from worldly pleasures through the Guru's Grace, and he does not have to worry about (face) death again. (2)

Pouri: What could bother the Lord, whose Will prevails throughout the whole world, and everything happens according to His dictates? O, Lord! The whole world depends on You for its sustenance and the whole world is at Your mercy for its maintenance. The person, who sings Your praises, attains all the worldly comforts and pleasures but it is only through the Grace of the Lord that one enjoys all these comforts. The true and successful trader in this world is one who has amassed the wealth of Your True Name through Your Grace as his merchandise for doing business in the world and for Your attainment. O, friendly saints! Let us all sing the praises of the Lord, who has enabled us to cast away our dual-mindedness in the Lord's pursuit. (16)

श्लोक महला ३ ॥
एक मनुष्य मदिरा से भरपूर बर्तन लेकर आता है और दूसरा मनुष्य आकर उसमें से प्याला भर लेता है। जिसका पान करने से बुद्धि भ्रष्ट हो जाती है और उन्मादपन दिमाग में आ जाता है, जिससे मनुष्य अपने व पराए की पहचान नहीं कर पाता और अपने मालिक प्रभु की ओर से धक्के खाता है। जिस मदिरा को पीने से मालिक प्रभु विस्मृत हो जाता है और जीव को उसके दरबार में कठोर दण्ड मिलता है। जहाँ तक तेरा वश चलता है, तू झूठी मदिरा का बिल्कुल पान मत कर। हे नानक ! जिसे सतिगुरु मिल जाता है, वह प्रभु की दया से सच्ची नाम-मदिरा को प्राप्त कर लेता है | वह सदा परमेश्वर के प्रेम -रंग में लीन रहता है और उसके दरबार में स्थान प्राप्त कर लेता है। ॥१॥

महला ३॥
जब परमात्मा ज्ञान प्रदान करता है तो यह जगत जीवित ही मरा रहता है अर्थात मोह-माया से निर्लिप्त रहता है। जब परमात्मा इसे मोह-माया की नींद सुला देता है तो वह निद्रामग्न ही रहता है, परन्तु जब वह इसे ज्ञान से जगा देता है तो इसे अपने जीवन-उद्देश्य की होश आती है। हे नानक यदि परमात्मा अपनी कृपा द्रष्टि धारण करे तो वह मनुष्य की सतगुरु से भेंट करा देता है। गुरु की कृपा से यदि मनुष्य जीवित ही मरा रहे अर्थात् मोह-माया से निर्लिप्त रहे तो वह दोबारा नहीं मरता। २ ॥

पौड़ी।
जिस परमात्मा का किया सबकुछ होता है, उसे किसी की कोई परवाह नहीं। हे श्रीहरि ! जीव तेरा दिया हुआ ही सबकुछ खाते हैं और सभी तेरी ही अनुसेवा करते हैं। हे निरंजन परमेश्वर ! जो भी तेरी महिमा-स्तुति करता है एवं जिस पर तू कृपा के घर में आता है, वह सबकुछ प्राप्त कर लेता है। हे भगवान! वास्तव में वही साहूकार और सत्य का व्यापारी है, जो तेरे नाम-धन का सौदा लाद लेता है। हे संतजनो ! उस परमात्मा का स्तुतिगान करो, जिसने द्वैतभावना की ढ़ेरी को ध्वस्त कर दिया है | १६ ॥

ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਲਿਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਏਥੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ, ਉਹ ਏਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ (ਹੋਰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਲਿੱਬੜਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਆਦਿਕ ਕੁਕਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) , ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪੀਤਿਆਂ ਅਕਲ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਬਕਣ ਦਾ ਜੋਸ਼ ਆ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਾਏ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ, ਮਾਲਕ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਧੱਕੇ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪੀਤਿਆਂ ਖਸਮ ਵਿਸਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਐਸਾ ਚੰਦਰਾ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ, ਜਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਵੱਸ ਚੱਲੇ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੀਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ 'ਨਾਮ'-ਰੂਪ ਨਸ਼ਾ (ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ (ਨਾਮ ਦੇ) ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਥਾਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਇੱਜ਼ਤ) ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।
