ਦੂਧੁ ਤ ਬਛਰੈ ਥਨਹੁ ਬਿਟਾਰਿਓ

English Translation

Gujri Sri Ravidas Ji Ke Pade Ghar - 3rd lk Onkar Satgur Prasad

"By the Grace of the One Supreme Lord attainable through the Guru's guidance."

O, Brother! The milk has been spoiled and made impure by the calf sucking the cows' milk; the flower has been made impure by the black wasp taking the smell out of the flower, and the fish has also made the water dirty by moving around. (1)

So what could I present my Lord as my offering and worship Him? I cannot offer water, milk, or flower which are already made impure and worship the Lord with such offerings. There are no ·other flowers to be seen around, which I could offer the Lord as my present as nothing is worthy of presentation to the Lord being impure. (Pause-1)

Even the sandalwood tree is covered with snakes, which have been rendered impure, (by snakes). In fact, both the nectar and poison of life are found (in the ocean) together, (and it is difficult to separate them). (2)

The authentic way of worship

All the religious practices like burning incense, burning the candle, or worshipping the Lord, have become impure and improper, being spoiled by vicious thoughts. O, Lord! How could I, Your slave, serve You now? (With all these dirty things being around). (3)

O, Lord! I would offer my body and soul at Your altar having considered everything around as impure; and thus worship You with the hope of attaining the Lord, who is free from worldly falsehood through the Guru's Grace. (4)

O, Ravidas! Apart from this worship, I could not offer any better and purer service or offer to the Lord; which could be considered superior to this prayer. O, Lord! How could I serve You as I am unable to please You, through my worship? What would be my fate with this type of prayer and worship? (5-l)

ईश्वर एक है, जिसे सतगुरु की कृपा से पाया जा सकता है। दूध तो गाय के थनों में ही बछड़े ने जूठा कर दिया है, फूलों को भेंवरे ने सूंघा हुआ है तथा जल मछली ने अशुद्ध कर दिया है॥ १॥

हे मेरी माता! गोविन्द की पूजा-अर्चना करने के लिए मैं कौन-सी भेंट-सामग्री अर्पित करूँ ? मुझे कोई अन्य अनूप सुन्दर फूल नहीं मिल सकता, क्या इसके अभाव से प्रभु को प्राप्त नहीं कर सकूंगा ?॥ १॥ रहाउ॥

जहरीले साँपों ने चन्दन के पेड़ को लिपेटा हुआ है। विष एवं अमृत सागर में साथ-साथ ही बसते हैं।॥ २॥ हे प्रभु! धूप, दीप, नैवेद्य एवं सुगन्धियों से तेरा सेवक कैसे पूजा कर सकता है ? क्योंकि वे भी अशुद्ध ही हैं।॥ ३॥

अपना तन-मन भगवान को अर्पण करके पूजा की जाए तो गुरु की कृपा से निरंजन प्रभु को पाया जा सकता है॥ ४॥

रविदास का कथन है कि हे ईश्वर ! यदि मुझसे तेरी पूजा-अर्चना नहीं हो सकी तो फिर आगे मेरी क्या गति होगी॥ ५॥ १॥

ਦੁੱਧ ਤਾਂ ਥਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਵੱਛੇ ਨੇ ਜੂਠਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ; ਫੁੱਲ ਭੌਰੇ ਨੇ (ਸੁੰਘ ਕੇ) ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੇ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਸੋ, ਦੁੱਧ ਫੁੱਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨੇ ਹੀ ਜੂਠੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗੇ ਨਾਹ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ)।੧।

ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਾਂ? ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਸੁੱਚਾ) ਫੁੱਲ (ਆਦਿਕ ਮਿਲ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਸਕਦਾ)। ਕੀ ਮੈਂ (ਇਸ ਘਾਟ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂਗਾ?।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਚੰਦਨ ਦੇ ਬੂਟਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਪ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੰਦਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਠਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ) , ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ (ਭੀ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।

ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਆ ਜਾਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਤੇ ਨੈਵੇਦ ਭੀ (ਜੂਠੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) , (ਫਿਰ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਜੂਠੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ) ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ?।੩।

(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ; (ਇਸੇ ਭੇਟਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ-ਰਹਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੪।

ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੁੱਧ, ਫੁੱਲ, ਧੂਪ, ਚੰਦਨ ਤੇ ਨੈਵੇਦ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ ਭੇਟਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਸ਼ੈਆਂ ਸੁੱਚੀਆਂ ਨਾਹ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਮੈਥੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਹੋ ਹੀ ਨਾਹ ਸਕਦੀ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੇਰਾ ਕੀਹ ਹਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ?।੫।੧।

ਭਾਵ: ਲੋਕ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਜਲ, ਫੁੱਲ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਆਦਿਕ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਪਰ ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੂਠੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੇਟਾ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
