English Translation

Vadhans Mahala - 1 ( Baba Aaya Hai Uth Chalna )

O, Brother! This world is a creation and drama of the Lord and is false and transient, as such whosoever is born here, faces death sooner or later (goes away for certain). Let us, therefore join the company of the holy saints in our effort to seek the True Abode (of the Lord) and serve the True Lord therein so that we could merge with the Lord and become one with Him (become an embodiment of the Lord, through self-realization). Whenever a self-willed (faithless) person does not join the company of holy saints in this life due to his love for greed and falsehood, he would not find peace and joy in the next world also.

Such a faithless person is not received with respect and honor anywhere, just as a crow comes back empty-handed from a deserted house (without getting anything to eat) after crowing there for long. In fact, the birth and death (of a person) entail a great separation, in which the whole world perishes (being engrossed in this cycle). The Lord has thus made this world lost in (engrossed in various worldly wrangles due to its love for worldly falsehood (Maya). Thus this human being is always wailing in the fear of death which could cut his life short anytime. (The god of death could catch him any moment as he is waiting for (on man's head) a chance to strike). (1)

O, Brother! Let us embrace each other and bless each other with the boon of uniting with the Lord-Spouse. Let us wish each other well so that the unison of the Lord is not a far cry, and we may unite with the True Lord soon. The persons, who are already united with the Lord, need no more of this blessing as they have already merged with the Lord. Let us, therefore, worship and serve the Lord after wishing well to each other through such blessings.

The self-willed (faithless) persons have totally forsaken the company of holy saints and the recitation of True Name whereas the Guru-minded persons enjoy the eternal bliss through the Guru's Word, by engaging themselves in Truth. Such Guru-minded persons are not taken through the path of Yama (of hell) as they have followed the Guru's teachings and practiced Truth throughout the ages. Let us, therefore, join the company of such holy saints, who have been freed from the bondage of worldly falsehood through the Guru's guidance, as they could help us also to meet and unite with the Lord. (2)

O, Brother! This human being was born naked in this world and then enjoys comforts or undergoes sufferings in life as predestined by the Lord's Will, based on his earlier actions, and dictated by the Lord (as a reward for his own actions). Depending on our earlier (past) actions, the time of our death is already fixed, which cannot be altered by us. We carry out those functions in life as are ordained by the Lord's Will and we have to undergo sufferings or enjoy comforts in life as dictated by the Lord (as per our fortune based on our own actions) and partake of the nectar (of True Name) or the poison (of vices and sinful actions).

The worldly falsehood (Maya) has enamored the whole world with its charm and (placed around our necks the necklace of many colors) engrossed us in various activities (due to our love of various vices). Due to his poor wisdom or intelligence, this man is engrossed in a life of vicious and sinful actions like the fly being caught in the sweet sugar due to its charm, finally causing its death. Similarly, this human being gets engrossed in a sinful life due to its charm, but finally faces death, being caught in worldly bondage (like the fly) as those very worldly pleasures then consume and destroy the individual instead of his enjoying those pleasures. Thus this man engrossed in such thoughts, comes is born) naked in this world and then proceeds naked (after death), caught in chains. (3)

O, Brother! Why do you cry and wail for the dead person (your beloved one) who has been caught in the chains of the Yama and taken to the next world)? (So you may continue crying and wailing but for whom ?) When the call of death comes (from the Lord) no one could alter or stop it as the Lord's dictates, as pre-destined by Lord's Will, cannot be altered. When the death befalls a person it is according to Lord's Will and as it pleases the Lord, then the people around him cry and wail (at his loss), including the son, brother, nephews, and other relatives or dear friends.

No one accompanies the dead person and all become quiet and peaceful after their wailings (for some time). But if we were to sing the praises of the Lord with love and fear (wonder-awe) and cry at our separation from Him, then it would be worth something (as this would be for some useful purpose). O, Nanak! The persons, who care to seek and recite Lord's True Name, are considered wise and praiseworthy during the ages, and it would be worthwhile crying at their loss (our wailings for the dead have no value). वडहंसु महला १ ॥ ( Baba Aaya Hai Uth Chalna )

हे बाबा ! जो कोई भी इस दुनिया में जन्म लेकर आया है, उसने एक दिन अवश्य ही यहाँ से चले जाना है, चूंकि यह क्षणभंगुर दुनिया तो झूठ का प्रसार है। सच्चे परमेश्वर की भक्ति करने से ही सच्चा घर मिलता है और सत्यवादी होने से सत्य मिल जाता है। झुठ एवं लालच के द्वारा मनुष्य स्वीकृत नहीं होता और उसे परलोक में भी शरण नहीं मिलती।

उसे भीतर आने के लिए कोई नहीं कहता अर्थात् कोई भी उसका स्वागत नहीं करता: अपितु वह तो सूने घर में कौए की भाँति है। मनुष्य जन्म-मरण के चक्र में फँसकर प्रभु से लम्बे समय के लिए बिछुड़ जाता है। इसी तरह ही सारा संसार नष्ट हो रहा है। लालच में माया के प्रपंच ने जगत को भुलाया हुआ है और काल (मृत्यु) सिर-पर खड़ा होकर दुनिया को रुला रहा है॥ १॥

हे मेरे मित्र एवं भाईयो ! आओ, हम गले लगकर मिलें और मिल-मिलकर एक-दूसरे को आशीर्वाद दें। हे बाबा ! प्रभु का मिलाप सच्चा है, जो कभी नहीं टूटता। प्रियतम के मिलाप हेतु हम एक-दूसरे को आशीर्वाद दें। आशीर्वाद दो और भक्ति करो, जो आगे ही प्रभु से मिले हुए हैं, उन्हें क्या मिलाना है ?"

कुछ लोग परमात्मा के नाम एवं प्रभु-चरणों से भटके हुए हैं, उन्हें गुरु के शब्द द्वारा सच्ची खेल खेलते हुए कहो, अर्थात् सत्य का खेल सिखलाएं। उन्हें यह भी ज्ञान करवाओ कि मृत्यु के मार्ग नहीं जाना। वह परमात्मा में ही लीन रहें, क्योंकि युग-युगान्तरों में उसी का सच्चा स्वरूप है। संयोग से ही हमें ऐसे मित्र एवं संबंधी मिल जाते हैं, जिन्होंने गुरु से मिलकर मोह-माया के बन्धनों को खोल दिया है॥ २॥

हे बाबा ! इस जगत में दुःख-सुख की तकदीर लिखा कर मनुष्य नग्न ही आया है। पूर्व जन्म में किए कर्मों के अनुरूप परलोक जाने की जो तारीख लिखी गई है, वह बदली नहीं जा सकती। सच्चा परमेश्वर बैठकर अमृत एवं विष (सुख-दुख की तकदीर) लिखता है और जिससे वह लगाता है मनुष्य उसी के साथ लगता है।

जादूगरनी माया अपना जादू करती है और प्रत्येक जीव की गर्दन पर बहुरंगी धागा डाल देती है। भष्ट बुद्धि से मन भ्रष्ट हो जाता है और मनुष्य मीठे के लालच में मक्खी को भी निगल लेता है। मर्यादा के विपरीत नग्न ही मनुष्य दुनिया में जन्म लेकर आया था और नग्न ही वह बंधकर चला गया है।३॥

हे बाबा ! यदि किसी ने अवश्य ही विलाप करना है, तो विलाप कर लो क्योंकि जीवन-साथी आत्मा जकड़ी हुई परलोक में भेज दी गई है। लिखी हुई तकदीर को मिटाया नहीं जा सकता, प्रभु के दरबार से निमंत्रण आया है। जब प्रभु को अच्छा लगा है, संदेशक आ गया है और रोने वाले रोने लग गए हैं।

पुत्र, भाई, भतीजे एवं अत्यंत प्यारे प्रीतम विलाप करते हैं। मृतक के साथ कोई भी नहीं मरता, जो प्रभु के गुणों को स्मरण करके उसके भय में रोता है, वह भला है। हे नानक ! जो परमात्मा का नाम-स्मरण करते हुए रोते हैं, वे युग-युगान्तरों में बुद्धिमान समझे जाते हैं।॥ ४॥ ५॥

Punjabi Translation

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ( Baba Aaya Hai Uth Chalna ) ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਜਨਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ) ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਆਖ਼ਰ ਇਥੋਂ) ਕੂਚ ਕਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਇਥੇ ਸਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੈਠ ਰਹਿਣਾ) ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਖਿਲਾਰਾ। ਜੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਲਈ ਯੋਗ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਕਬੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੁੰਞੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਗਏ ਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੀ ਗਰਾਹੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਣੀ) (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਣਾ-ਆਓ ਜੀ, ਅੰਦਰ ਲੰਘ ਆਵੋ ਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਜਾਵੋ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਭੁਗਤਣਾ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਗੇੜ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਲੰਮਾ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ) ਜਗਤ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ) ਸਾਰੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ) । ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਆਹਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਗਤ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਖਲੋਤਾ ਕਾਲ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ! ਆਓ, ਅਸੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੀਏ, ਤੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ) ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਦੇਵੀਏ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸਾਂ ਕਰੀਏ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਦੇਈਏ (ਅਰਦਾਸਾਂ ਕਰੀਏ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਮੇਲ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।

(ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਭਰਾਵੋ! ਰਲ ਕੇ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਲਈ) ਅਰਦਾਸਾਂ ਕਰੋ (ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰੋ (ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜੇਹੜੇ ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਿਰ ਕਦੇ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।

ਪਰ ਕਈ ਐਸੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਉਖੜੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਖੇਡ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਖੇਡੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜਮ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ (ਵੇਸ) ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ।

ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਓ! ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰਲ ਬੈਠੋ। ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਫਾਹੇ ਵੱਢ ਲਏ ਹਨ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਨਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਭੋਗਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਦੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖ-ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ) ਲਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਨੰਗਾ ਹੀ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਸਮਾ ਭੀ ਨਿਯਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਮੁਕਰਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਮਾ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਪਿਛਾਂਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ, (ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਦੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਵਾਪਰਨੋਂ ਹਟ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜੋ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਕਮਾਈ ਵਜੋਂ) ਖੱਟਿਆ ਹੈ। (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸੋਚ-ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੀਵ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਿਹਾਝਣਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਇਆ-ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਖੱਟਣਾ ਹੈ।

(ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ) ਜਿਧਰ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਧਰ ਇਹ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਉਸੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ) ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਜਾਦੂ ਪਾ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਕਈ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਧਾਗਾ ਪਾ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ) । (ਇਸ ਮੋਹਣੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹੇਠ ਹੀ) ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਥੋੜ੍ਹ-ਵਿਤੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੀਵ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਥੋੜ੍ਹ-ਵਿਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਤਕਰਾ ਤੇ ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਕੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਸੁਅਰਥ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਵੇਖ ਸੋਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) , ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੱਖੀ ਗੁੜ ਖਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਗੁੜ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੜ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੜ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) । ਜੀਵ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਨੰਗਾ ਹੀ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨੰਗਾ ਹੀ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਚਲਾਣੇ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰੋ ਰੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਸੱਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਟਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੀਦਾ, ਇਹ ਅਟੱਲ ਨਿਯਮ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਸੱਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਟਾਲਣ ਲਈ) ਰੋਣਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਰੋ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੋ। ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਰ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਕੂਚ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਦਾ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁਕਮ ਮਿਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੀਦਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਦਾ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਸੱਦਾ ਅਮਿੱਟ ਹੈ) ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ) ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ (ਜੀਵ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕੂਚ ਦਾ) ਸੱਦਾ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਰੋਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਭਰਾ, ਭਤੀਜੇ, ਬੜੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ (ਸਭੇ ਹੀ) ਰੋਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਜੀਵ (ਕੂਚ ਕਰ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਹਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ (ਸੁਖਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਮੁਏ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ (ਜੀਊਣਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹ ਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਜੰਮਣ ਦਾ ਸਿਲਸਿਲਾ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮਹਾ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਪਰਾਮ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੪।੫।
