(Aape Aap Vartada Pyara...)
Sorath Mahala - Chautha Ghar - Pehla Ik Oankar Satgur Prasad
"By the Grace of the Lord- sublime, Truth personified & attainable through the Guru's guidance."
The Lord is pervading in (within) all the beings Himself and then stays aloof and distinct from all the beings, as well. The Lord Himself is the trader in the worldly business and He is the True capitalist (financier) in the worldly drama. He is the merchandise and the (trader) dealer in this business and He is the buyer (purchaser) of the True merchandise (Truth) from the Guru. (1)
O, my mind! Let us recite the True Name of the Lord and sing His praises. The beloved Lord is attained through the Guru's Grace and is an embodiment of the nectar of True Name. The Lord Himself listens to the talk and perceives everything happening around and He speaks the language being a personification of everything. The Lord Himself leads us astray and the beloved Lord Himself guides us on to the right path. The Lord Himself represents everything pervading within all the beings and remains aloof and carefree. (2)
Lord Himself
The beloved Lord is the creator of all beings and then maintains and sustains them in various functions and chores as per His Will Then He alone punishes the human beings through the god of justice, Dharam Raj, with the help of Yama, and then Himself faces death in the form of the human being. The Lord Himself is (The river bank) an embodiment of detachment and the boat including the oarsman in the form of the Guru, would enable us to cross the ocean of life successfully. (3)
The beloved Lord Himself is the unfathomable ocean, and the Guru is the helmsman to ferry us across safely by the ship of safety. The Lord Himself crosses the ocean of life safely (in the form of the human being) and then Himself watches the worldly drama (along with all its activities) as the king emperor. O, Nanak! The Lord Himself is so benevolent and merciful enabling us to unite with Him through His Grace and munificence. (4-1)

ਰਾਗ ਸੋਰਠਿ, ਘਰ ੧ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ (ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ (ਭੀ) ਹੈ ॥ ਜਗਤ-ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ (ਜਗਤ-ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਸਿ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਣਜ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ ॥ (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ (ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ (ਭੀ) ਹ ੈ। ਜਗਤ-ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ (ਜਗਤ-ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਸਿ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਣਜ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਰਦਾਸਾਂ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਰਸ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ) ਮਿੱਠਾ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ) ਰਸਤਾ ਵਿਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ, (ਇਤਨੇ ਖਲਜਗਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬੇ-ਪਰਵਾਹ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਆਹਰ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਬਣਤਰ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੀਵ) ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਨਦੀ ਉਤੇ) ਪੱਤਣ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਲਾਹ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-) ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ-ਮਲਾਹ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਵਿਚ) ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੌਤਕ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਤਨਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧।

सोरठ महला ४ घरु १ ईश्वर एक है, जिसे सतगुरु की कृपा से पाया जा सकता है।
प्यारा प्रभु स्वयं ही सब जीवों में व्याप्त है और स्वयं ही निर्लिप्त रहता है। वह स्वयं ही जगत रूपी वणजारा है और स्वयं ही सच्चा साहूकार है। वह प्यारा प्रभु स्वयं ही वाणिज्य एवं व्यापारी है और स्वयं ही सच्ची रास-पूंजी है॥ १॥
हे मेरे मन ! हरि का जाप करो, उसकी ही स्तुति करो। गुरु की अपार कृपा से ही वह अमृत रूप अगम्य एवं अथाह प्यारा परमेश्वर पाया जा सकता है॥ रहाउ ॥
वह प्यारा प्रभु स्वयं ही सबको सुनता एवं देखता है और स्वयं ही सभी प्राणियों के मुख द्वारा अपने मुखारबिंद से बोलता है। वह प्यारा प्रभु स्वयं ही कुमार्ग लगाता है और स्वयं ही सन्मार्ग प्रदान करता है। वह प्रियतम आप ही सबकुछ है और आप ही बेपरवाह है॥ २॥
प्रभु स्वयं ही सृष्टि-रचना करता है और स्वयं ही प्रत्येक प्राणी को सांसारिक कार्यों में लगाता है। वह प्यारा प्रभु स्वयं ही जीवों को पैदा करता है और स्वयं ही जब जीवों का नाश करता है तो वह नाश हो जाते हैं। वह स्वयं ही घाट और मल्लाह है और स्वयं ही पार करवाता है॥ ३॥
वह स्वयं ही सागर है और स्वयं ही जहाज है। वह स्वयं ही गुरु-खेवट बनकर जहाज चलाता है।
प्यारा प्रभु स्वयं जहाज पर सवार होकर पार होता है।
सृष्टि का बादशाह वह परमेश्वर अपनी आश्चर्यजनक लीलाएँ रच-रचकर देखता रहता है। वह स्वयं ही दयावान है, हे नानक ! वह स्वयं ही जीवों को क्षमा करके अपने साथ मिला लेता है॥ ४॥ १॥
