ਰਾਗ ਸੂਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ ॥ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਜਨਾਹਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਅੱਗ ਅਤੇ ਅਫਸੋਸਦਾਇਕ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ॥ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ ॥ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਸਕੀਨਾ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਹੈ ॥ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੂੰਹਦਾ ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ ॥ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ, ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਵਰਨਣ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੌਤ ਦਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਧਾਸਰੂਪ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਖ ਸਰੂਪ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਚਿਮੜਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ॥ ਸ਼੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਾਥੀ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਧਾੜਵੀ ਲਾਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦੇ ॥ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਿਆਲ, ਬਚਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਆਪਣੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿੱਜ ਦਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਧਾ ਅਨੁਰਾਗ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਆਰੰਭ, ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ॥
English Translation
Rag Suhi Mahala - 5th Ghar-3rd
Ik Onkar Satgur Prasad ( Mithan Moh Agan Sok Sagar )
"By the Grace of the Lord-Sublime, Truth personified & attainable through the Guru's guidance."
O Lord, the embodiment of wisdom! May You save me through Your Grace, from this worldly ocean of life, full of false attachments and sufferings, and burning in the fire of worldly desires. (1)
O Man! Let us take refuge at the lotus feet of the Lord, who is the support and mainstay of helpless people and the True Master of the holy saints! (Pause - 1)
The Lord is the Master of the helpless and poor people and casts away the fear (of death) of the holy saints. By joining the company of the Lord's holy saints of the Lord one does not get caught by the Yama (god of death) and is saved from the clutches and punishment of the Yama. (2)
The Lord is always our benefactor with a beautiful form, providing life and sustenance to us. By serving and singing the praises of such a True Master, we could emancipate ourselves from the snare and bondage of the Yama (god of death). (3)
The person, who recites the nectar of True Name with his tongue every day, does not get engulfed by the worldly falsehood (Maya) which is the source of all suffering. (4)
O Brother! The Guru-minded persons, who have recited the Lord's True Name, have also helped all their companions and relatives cross this ocean of life successfully. The five vices like sexual desires, which attack all of us, robbing forcibly, dare not even touch them. (5)
Whosoever remembers the Lord-sublime with body and soul (love and devotion), gets all the desires fulfilled along with the fruits of his efforts. (6)
Such Guru-minded persons are accepted by the True Master, through His Grace, as His slaves (disciples) and engage them in His service. They are also bestowed with the nectar of True Name, the real fruit of their worship by the Lord. (7)
O Nanak! The True Master is ever-existent in all three ages, (the present, past, and future times) and I have no other support except the True Lord (I always recite His True Name). (8 - 1-2)

चूंकिं संसार नाशवान पदार्थों का मोह तृष्णाग्नि एवं शोक का सागर है," हे श्री हरि ! कृपा करके मुझे बचा लो॥ १॥ हे नारायण ! मैं तेरे चरणों की शरण में हूँ। तू दीनानाथ एवं भक्तपरायण है॥ १॥ रहाउ॥
हे अनाथों के नाथ ! तू अपने भक्तों के हर प्रकार के भय मिटाने वाला है। तेरे साधुओं की संगति करने से यमदूत भी पास नहीं आते॥ २॥ हे दया के घर ! तू अनूप है और जीवन प्रदान करने वाला है। तेरे गुण याद करने से मृत्यु का जाल भी कट जाता है॥ ३॥ जो व्यक्ति अपनी जीभ से नित्य ही हरि के अमृत-नाम को जपता है, उसे रोग पैदा करने वाली माया कभी भी नहीं लगती ॥ ४॥
गोविंद का नाम जप कर अपने संगी भी भवसागर से तार दिए हैं। काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह एवं अहंकार-यह पाँचों लुटेरे अब दुखी नहीं करते॥ ५ ॥ जो व्यक्ति मन, वचन एवं कर्म से एक प्रभु का ही ध्यान करता है, उसे सर्व फल प्राप्त हो जाते हैं। ६॥ प्रभु ने अनुग्रह करके जिसे भी अपना बनाया है, उसे केवल नाम एवं भक्ति का ही रस दिया है॥ ७॥ सृष्टि के आदि, वर्तमान एवं अन्त में भी एक प्रभु ही है। हे नानक ! उसके बिना अन्य कोई नहीं है॥ ८ ॥ १॥ २ ॥
