Mukhwak Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Pani Pakha Peesao Sant Aage Gunn Govind Jas Gayi;  documented on Ang 673 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji under Raag Dhansari.

English Translation:

Dhana'sari Mahala 5th .. Pani Pakha Peesao..

O, Lord! May I always serve Your holy saints by bringing water (as a water carrier) for them, fanning them (to undo the effect of heat). Or grinding flour (atta) for them and singing the praises of the Lord!

May I attain the ever-lasting (elixir) treasure of the True Name of the Lord so that I can recite Your True Name all the time (with each breath ) with love and devotion! (1)

Oh, my True Master! May You bestow on me Your Grace ( Tum Karo Daya Mere Sai ) and benevolence and favour me with wisdom (clear understanding) so that I am enabled to recite Your True Name all the time! (Pause)

O, Lord! We may cast away our greed, egoism, and worldly attachments through Your Grace alone. And rid ourselves of all whims and dual-mindedness. Then I would perceive the (same) Lord alone pervading everywhere in bliss and peace wherever I look around. (2)

You are our greatest benefactor, blessing us with all Your favours and benedictions through Your Grace, and the True Master of us all, who could purify us of all our sins and ills. I would enjoy the bliss of life, like enjoying the comforts of millions of Your favours by reciting the Lord's True Name even for the twinkling of an eye (for a short while). O, Lord! The worship, and meditation of True Name including any penance is worthwhile only if it pleases You and is approved by You.

O Nanak! We have been fully satiated, extinguishing the fire of our worldly desires, by reciting the Lord's True Name and have enjoyed the bliss of life with the True Name. (4-10)

ਅਰਥ: (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪਾਣੀ (ਢੋਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੱਖਾ (ਝੱਲਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆਟਾ) ਪੀਂਹਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤੇ, ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵਾਂ ਜੋ ਸੁਖ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ) ਦਇਆ ਕਰ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਮੇਰਾ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਏ। ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਮੇਰੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ। ਮੈਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਾਂ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਨੰਦ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸੇਂ ॥੨॥

ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ! ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ. ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ. ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਰਾਜ-ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ ਲਏ ਹਨ ॥੩॥

ਉਹੀ ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਉਹੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹੀ ਜਾਣੋ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੦॥

पानी पखा पीसउ संत आगै गुण गोविंद जस गाई ॥ सास सास मन नाम सम्हारै इहु बिस्राम निध पाई ॥१॥ तुम्ह करहु दया मेरे साई ॥ ऐसी मत दीजै मेरे ठाकुर सदा सदा तुध धिआई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ तुम्हरी क्रिपा ते मोह मान छूटै बिनस जाइ भरमाई ॥ अनद रूप रविओ सभ मधे जत कत पेखउ जाई ॥२॥ तुम्ह दयाल किरपाल क्रिपा निधि पतित पावन गोसाई ॥ कोट सूख आनंद राज पाए मुख ते निमख बुलाई ॥३॥ जाप ताप भगत सा पूरी जो प्रभ कै मन भाई ॥ नाम जपत त्रिसना सभ बुझी है नानक त्रिपत अघाई ॥४॥१०॥

Meaning in Hindi

धनासरी मः ५ ॥ मैं संतों की सेवा में पानी ढोता, पंखा करता और गेहूँ पीसता हूँ। गोविन्द का ही यशोगान करता हूँ।
मेरा मन श्वास-श्वास से नाम जपता रहता है। मैंने यह नाम रूपी सुखों की निधि प्राप्त कर ली है॥ १॥
हे मेरे मालिक ! मुझ पर दया करो। हे मेरे ठाकुर ! मुझे ऐसी सुमति दीजिए कि मैं सर्वदा ही तेरा ध्यान करता रहूँ।
तेरी कृपा से मेरा मोह एवं अभिमान छूट जाए. मेरा भ्रम भी मिट जाए। आनंद का स्वरूप वह प्रभु सबमें समाया हुआ है, मैं जिधर भी जाता हूँ, उसे ही देखता हूँ॥ २॥
हे पतितपावन सृष्टि के स्वामी ! तुम बड़े दयालु, कृपालु एवं कृपानिधि हो। मैंने अपने मुँह से एक क्षण भर तेरे नाम का उच्चारण करके राज-भाग के करोड़ों सुख एवं आनंद पा लिए हैं।॥३॥
केवल वही पूजा, तपस्या एवं भक्ति पूर्ण होती है, जो प्रभु के मन में भा गई है। हे नानक ! नाम का जाप करने से मेरी सारी तृष्णा बुझ गई है। अब मैं तृप्त एवं संतृष्ट हो गया हूँ॥ ४॥ १०॥
