ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਮਾਹਿ ਸੋਹੰਦੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਠੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਿਆ ਗਣੀ ਜਿ ਸਾਹਿਬਿ ਮੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਸੇ ਰਹਨਿ ਇਕੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਉਤਰੈ ਸੇ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇ ਦਿਸਨਿ ਨਿਤ ਖੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਰਤਨ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਲਾਲ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਤਿਨਾ ਜੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਧੂੜਿ ਤਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣੀ ਦਰਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥ ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜਨਮੜੀਆਹ ॥੧੦॥
1. Punjabi Translation by Prof. Sahib Singh Ji
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ: ਮੰਘਿਰਿ = ਮੰਘਰ ਵਿਚ। ਮਾਹਿ = ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ। ਪਿਰ ਸੰਗਿ = ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ। ਕਿਆ ਗਣੀ = ਮੈਂ ਕੀਹ ਦੱਸਾਂ? ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਜਿ = ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ। ਸਾਹਿਬਿ = ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ। ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ = ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ। ਸਾਧ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਆਹ ਸੰਗਿ = ਸਤ ਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ। ਬਾਹਰੀ = ਬਿਨਾ। ਤੇ = ਤੋਂ। ਦਿਸਹਿ = ਦਿੱਸਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਖੜੀਆਹ = ਸਾਵਧਾਨ, ਸੁਚੇਤ। ਕੰਠਿ = ਗਲ ਵਿਚ (ਭਾਵ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) । ਬਾਂਛੈ = ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦਰਿ = ਦਰ ਉਤੇ। ਬਹੁੜਿ = ਮੁੜ, ਫਿਰ।
ਅਰਥ: ਮੱਘਰ (ਦੇ ਠੰਢੇ-ਮਿੱਠੇ) ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਹਰੀ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ (ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ) ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇਕੱਲੀਆਂ (ਛੁੱਟੜ) ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੂਟਾ ਪੈਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਖਸਮਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਕੱਲੀ ਨਿਖਸਮੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਕਈ ਵੈਰੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਘੇਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਜਿਆ) ਦੁੱਖ ਕਦੇ ਲਹਿੰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਈਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲੇ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਦਿੱਸਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਚੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਨੁਵਾਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੀਰੇ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਤੇ ਲਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੱਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ।10।
2. English Translation
Manghir Maahi Sohndeea Har Pir Sang Baithrreeaah.
Tin Kee Sobhaa Kia Gani Ji Saahib Melrreeaah.
Tan Man Mauliaa Raam Siu Sang Saadh Sahelrreeaah.
Saadh Janaa Te Baahree Se Rahan Ikelrreeaah.
Tin Dukh Na Kabhoo Utrai Se Jam Kai Vas Parreeaah.
Jini Raaviaa Prabh Aapnaa Se Disan Nit Kharreeaah.
Ratan Javehar Laal Har Kanth Tinaa Jarrreeaah.
Nanak Baanchhai Dhoor Tin Prabh Sarnee Dar Parreeaah.
Manghir Prabh Aaraadhnaa Bahurh Na Janmarreeaah. ॥10॥
During the month of Maghar, persons who are enjoying the company and bliss of the Lord's embrace are really beautiful and praise-worthy. We cannot count the blessings of such persons, who are united with the Lord, as their greatness is really superb in the company of holy saints.
Their body and soul are fully united with the Lord and enjoy the bliss of True Name. But the self-willed persons, separated from the company of the Guru, suffer the pangs of separation from the Lord-spouse and undergo all sorts of privations being deserted.
Now, this misery has no end as they are in the clutches of Yama (god of death) while the Guru-minded persons, who have enjoyed the bliss of unity with the Lord, always appear active and sublime in their meditation. In fact, their heart is full of love and devotion (the gems of life) to their Master, with their soul completely immersed in their True Name, and they remember the True Lord all the time.
O Nanak! I would like to seek the dust of the lotus feet of such Guru-minded persons, who have surrendered themselves to the Lord completely. So during the month of Maghar, we should remember the Lord; as those persons, who have served the True Master, never suffer the pangs of transmigration. (1)
3. Hindi Translation of Maghar Sangrand Hukamnama
1️⃣ मंघिरि माहि सोहंदीया हरि पिर संग बैठड़ीयाह ॥
जो प्रभु के पास (अंतर में) बैठी रहती हैं, वे आत्माएँ सौन्दर्य और आनंद से भरी होती हैं।
2️⃣ तिन की सोभा किया गणी जि साहिब मेलड़ीयाह ॥
जिन्हें खुद मालिक मिला देता है, उनकी महिमा गिन कर नहीं बताई जा सकती।
3️⃣ तनु मन मउलिया राम सिउ संग साध सहेलड़ीयाह ॥
संतों की संगति में जिनका तन-मन राम में रंग गया है।
4️⃣ साध जना ते बाहरी से रहनि इकैलड़ीयाह ॥
जो संतों की संगति से दूर हैं, वे आध्यात्मिक रूप से अकेले रहते हैं।
5️⃣ तिन दुख न कबहू उतरै से जम कै वसि पड़ीयाह ॥
उनका दुख कभी समाप्त नहीं होता, वे जन्म–मरण के भय के अधीन रहते हैं।
6️⃣ जिनी राविया प्रभु आपणा से डिसन नित खड़ीयाह ॥
जिन्होंने प्रभु को हृदय में जाना है, वे हर समय प्रकाशमान और दिव्य दिखते हैं।
7️⃣ रतन जवेहर लाल हरि कंठि तिना जड़ीयाह ॥
वे इतने मूल्यवान हैं जैसे उनके गले में रत्न-जवाहर जड़े हों, क्योंकि हरि उनके हृदय में बसता है।
8️⃣ नानक बांछै धूड़ तिन प्रभ सरणी दरि पड़ीयाह ॥
नानक कहते हैं—मैं उन प्रभु-भक्तों की चरण-धूल की इच्छा करता हूँ जो प्रभु की शरण में डटे हैं।
9️⃣ मंघिरि प्रभु आराधणा बहुरि न जनमड़ीयाह ॥१०॥
जो भीतर ही प्रभु का ध्यान करते हैं वे फिर जन्म–मरण के चक्र में नहीं आते।
