His childhood was spent at Kiratpur Sahib. When he was about 8 years old, his father, Baba Gurditta, left his physical body. He spent the next 10 years of his life under the care of his grandfather, Guru Hargobind.
Guru Har Rai received his primary education from Bhai Dargah Mall and received his weaponry from Bhai Bidhi Chand Chhina. Due to his special dedication, hard work, and the seriousness of the teachers, he attained equal expertise in arms and science education till the age of 13-14 years.
The name of Purohit Jati Mall is also worth mentioning among your teachers. While he was a man of knowledge and a sweet disposition, his heart was also very tender.
