English Translation

Ramkali Mahala 5th ( Kahu Bihave Rang Ras Roop... )

Some people spend this life enjoying the worldly pleasures, beauty and other charming things of life; whereas some others spend this life in the service of the mother, father and son. Some people spend this life amassing wealth and enjoying riches through business dealings, whereas the saints spend their life in reciting True Name. (1)

The worldly creation on this Earth is all the True Lord's creation only, as the Lord is the True Master of the whole world. (Pause - 1)
Some people spend this life in wrangles or fruitless discussions of the Vedas, while some others, spend this life enjoying dainty foods to placate the tongue. There are some others, who waste this life engrossed in the love of the women, whereas the saints are always immersed in reciting the True Name of the Lord (Murari) thus leading a fruitful life. (2)

Some people spend their life in gambling while others are busy in drug addiction during this life. Some persons are wasting this life in stealing other's wealth (or possessions) whereas the holy saints spend this life (fruitfully) in reciting the Lord's True Name. (3)

Some persons spend this life in performing Yoga, penance and the Lord's worship, while some others waste this life in suffering, afflictions, sorrows or whims and doubts (dual-mindedness). Some persons spend this life in Yogic exercises like stopping breathing or other rituals. The holy saints, however, utilize their life to sing the praises of the Lord (through the Guru's Word). (4)

Some people spend their lives wandering and roaming around by day and night, while others are engaged in occupying positions for waging war (on the battlefields). Some persons are busy in life in teaching the children whereas the holy saints use this life fruitfully by singing the praises of the Lord. (5)

Some persons waste this life in performing magical tricks or in dancing around, engrossed in vicious actions. Some persons are engrossed in murders and killings and some others are busy in life in protecting their rule (kingdom) (with fear of losing it) whereas the holy saints are fruitfully engaged in singing the praises of the Lord. (6)

Some persons spend their lives giving advice or consultations whereas others are busy with essential services. Some persons engage themselves in maintaining this body (by eating and wrestling) whereas the holy saints are busy in partaking in the nectar of the Lord's True Name. (7)

The whole world is engaged in various avocations and functions as directed by the Lord as per His Will (as it pleases Him); while by himself (his efforts) no one could become wiser or function as a fool. O Nanak! I would offer myself as a sacrifice to such persons, who are blessed with the (treasure of) True Name through the Lord's Grace. (83)

कुछ लोग अपना जीवन रंगों, स्वादों और सुंदरता का आनंद लेते हुए बिताते हैं। कुछ लोगों का जीवन माँ, बाप और बेटों के प्यार में ही बीत जाता है। कुछ लोगों का जीवन राजशाही, जागीर और वाणिज्य में फँसकर व्यतीत हो जाता है। साधु का जीवन साईं के नाम की छत्रछाया में व्यतीत होता है.

सृष्टि सच्चे प्रभु की रचना है। सबका मालिक एक है. ठहराव।

बहुत से लोग अपना जीवन संघर्ष करने और धार्मिक पुस्तकें पढ़ने में बिताते हैं। बहुत से लोग जीभ का स्वाद चखने में ही अपना जीवन व्यतीत कर देते हैं। कई लोग महिलाओं के साथ रहकर अपना जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं। साधु केवल भगवान के नाम में ही लीन रहते हैं।

बहुत से लोग अपना जीवन जुए में बिता देते हैं। कई लोग नशे की लत में अपना जीवन बिता देते हैं। कई लोग अपना जीवन दूसरे लोगों का पैसा चुराने में बिता देते हैं। जीवन भगवान के नाम का ध्यान करते हुए व्यतीत होता है।

कुछ लोगों का जीवन योगिक तपस्या और पूजा-पाठ करने में व्यतीत होता है। अनेक रोग, दुःख, शंकाएँ अन्दर फँसी हुई हैं। कई लोगों का जीवन प्राणायाम करते हुए बीतता है। साधु अपना जीवन साईं का जस जपते हुए बिताता है।

कई लोग अपना जीवन रात में बिताते हैं। कई लोग युद्ध के मैदान पर अपना जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं। कई लोग अपना जीवन बच्चों को पढ़ाने में बिता देते हैं। साधु का जीवन भगवान की स्तुति गाते हुए व्यतीत होता है।

कुछ लोगों का जीवन कलाकारों के रूपकों या रूपकों में नृत्य करते हुए व्यतीत होता है। कुछ का जीवन जीव हत्या में ही व्यतीत हो जाता है। कई लोग राज्य में रहकर अपना जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं। साधु अपना जीवन हरि की महिमा का जाप करते हुए बिताते हैं।

कई लोग अपना जीवन दूसरों को सलाह देने या मन बनाने में बिता देते हैं। नौकरी की चाहत में कई लोगों की जिंदगी गुजर जाती है. कई लोग अपना जीवन दूसरों के जीवन को बेहतर बनाने में बिता देते हैं। एक साधु अपना जीवन भगवान का अमृत पीकर व्यतीत करता है।

आप किससे जुड़ते हैं? वह उससे जुड़ जाता है. न तो कोई मूर्ख है और न ही कोई बुद्धिमान। आपकी कृपा से, जो काम आप अपने नाम से धन्य करते हैं, नानक एक सदका और एक बलिदान है।

ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਸੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਲਝ ਕੇ ਬਿਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਦੌਲਤ ਅਤੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਸੰਤ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (1)

ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। (ਵਿਰਾਮ - 1)

ਕੁਝ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਬਹਿਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਭੋਜਨ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਸਮ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸੰਤ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (2)

ਕੁਝ ਜੂਆ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ, ਸੰਤ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (3)

ਕੁਝ ਯੋਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੰਤ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (4)

ਕੁਝ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਰਹਿਤ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (5)

ਕੁਝ ਜਾਦੂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੰਤ, ਪਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਨ 'ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। (6)

ਕੁਝ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛਕਦੇ ਹਨ। (7)

ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। (83)
