Punjabi Translation

ਸਲੋਕ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਘਣੇਰਿਆਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਲਾਜ਼ਤ ਇਸ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਲੁਕ ਵਰਗੀ ਕਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥ ਤੇਲੀ ਦੀ ਲੀਰ ਧੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਚਿੱਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੈਕੜੇ ਵਾਰੀ ਭੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾਂ ਧੋਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ, ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਜੀ ਮਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਿਮੜਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਗਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ ॥

ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਐਸੀ ਲਿਖਤਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ ਇਸ ਯੁਗ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਐਸੀ ਲਿਖਤਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ ਇਸ ਯੁੱਗ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੈਣ-ਦਿਹੁੰ, ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੋੜ ਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਾਂ ॥ ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਲੈਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਇਕਰਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਖਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੀਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਪੀੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਦਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥ ਜੋ ਸਾਹ ਲੈਦਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਸਮਝ ॥ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਦੂਤ ਤੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਦੀ ਮੁਛੰਦਗੀ ਮੁਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥

English Translation

Slok Mahalla - 3rd ( Janam Janam Ki Iss Man Kau Mal Lagi... )

This mind (of ours) has become filthy with the sins of various ages (various forms of life in the cycle of rebirths, it has become blackened). This mind cannot be purified even by washing it umpteen times like the oil extractors' rag which cannot be cleaned even after a hundred washes. But if the Guru blesses us with His Grace, so that we behave with extreme humility (like a dead person) by getting rid of our egoism, we could divert this mind towards God-wards from the present state of Maya-wards. O Nanak! Thus the mind cannot become impure with worldly falsehood (Maya) and the man escapes from going through the cycle of rebirths. (1)

Mahala 3rd: Out of the four ages (of Sat Yug, Kal Yug, Treta, and Doapar) Kal Yug is supposed to be full of the black deeds of our dual-mindedness, but even during this Yuga (age) we could attain the highest status of (Nirvana) Salvation. We could join the company of the Guru-minded persons, who are fortunate enough, to be pre-destined by the Lord's Will, and attain the benefit (boon) of unison with the Lord. O Nanak! Such holy saints (Guru-minded persons) recite the True Name day and night through the Guru's Grace and are always imbued with the love of the Lord's worship. (2)

Pouri: O Lord! May I be enabled to join the company of holy saints so that I can also sing the Lord's praises through the Guru's Word! May I be enabled to enjoy eternal bliss by singing the Lord's praises through the recitation of the True Name with the Guru's Grace! Then I could cast away all my sufferings and horrible afflictions with the panacea of all ills, the Lord's True Name. The persons, who never forsake the Lord's True Name even with each breath or each morsel of food, are considered perfect saints. Such Guru-minded persons, with the support of True Name, are not afraid of the Yama (god of death) and never bother to placate the Yama during this life. (22)

सलोक मः ३ ॥ जनम जनम की इस मन कौ मल लागी काला होआ सिआहु ॥ खंनली धोती उजली न होवई जे सौ धोवण पाहु ॥ गुर परसादी जीवत मरै उलटी होवै मति बदलाहु ॥ नानक मैल न लगई ना फिर जोनी पाहु ॥१॥
मः ३ ॥ चहु जुगी कलि काली कांढी इक उतम पदवी इस जुग माहि ॥ गुरमुख हरि कीरत फल पाईऐ जिन कौ हर लिख पाहि ॥ नानक गुर परसादी अनदिन भगत हर उचरहि हर भगती माहि समाहि ॥२॥
पउड़ी ॥ हर हर मेल साध जन संगत मुख बोली हर हर भली बाण ॥ हर गुण गावा हर नित चवा गुरमती हर रंगु सदा माण ॥ हर जप जप औखध खाधिआ सभ रोग गवाते दुखा घाण ॥ जिना सास गिरास न विसरै से हर जन पूरे सही जाण ॥ जो गुरमुख हर आराधदे तिन चूकी जम की जगत काण ॥२२॥

Hukamnama meaning in Hindi

श्लोक महला ३॥ इस मन को तो जन्म-जन्मांतरों की मैल लगी हुई है और यह तो बिल्कुल मैला हो गया है। किसी तेली की धोती धोने से वह उज्ज्वल नहीं होती चाहे उसे सौ बार ही क्यों न धोया जाए। गुरु की कृपा से मनुष्य जीवित ही मोह-माया से विरक्त रहता है, उसका स्वभाव बदल कर सांसारिक पदार्थों की ओर से विपरीत हो जाता है। हे नानक ! तब उसे किसी प्रकार की मैल नहीं लगती और वह फिर से योनियों के चक्र में नहीं पड़ता ॥ १॥

महला ३॥ चारों युगों-(सतियुग, त्रैता, द्वापर, कलियुग) में एक कलियुग ही सबसे काला युग कहा जाता है किन्तु इस युग में भी एक उत्तम पदवी प्राप्त हो सकती है। जिनकी विधाता ने ऐसी किस्मत लिख दी है, वे गुरु के सान्निध्य में रहकर इस युग में भगवान की कीर्ति का फल प्राप्त कर लेते है। हे नानक ! ऐसे भक्तजन गुरु की अपार कृपा से रात-दिन भगवान की भक्ति का उच्चारण करते हैं और भक्ति में ही विलीन रहते हैं।॥ २॥

पउड़ी॥ हे हरि ! मुझे साधुजनों की सभा में मिला दो, चूंकि उनकी सभा में सम्मिलित होकर मैं अपने मुखारविंद से तेरी हरि-नाम रूपी सुन्दर वाणी को बोलूं। मैं तो सदा भगवान का गुणगान करता हूँ और उसका ही भजन करता हूँ तथा गुरु-उपदेशानुसार सदैव भगवान के रंग का आनंद प्राप्त करता हूँ। ईश्वर का जाप करके और जप रूपी औषधि को खाने से मेरे समस्त रोग एवं दु:खों का नाश हो गया है। जो श्वास लेते एवं खाते वक्त भी ईश्वर को नहीं भुलाते, उन भक्तजनों को पूर्ण सच्चे पुरुष समझो। जो गुरुमुख बनकर भगवान की आराधना करते हैं, उनकी मृत्यु का भय एवं दुनिया की अधीनता मिट जाती है॥ २२॥
