English Translation

Vadhans Mahala - 3 Mahala - Teeja Ik Onkar Satgur Parsad (Prabh Sachra Har Salahiye)

"By the Grace of the Lord- sublime, Truth personified & attainable through the Guru's guidance;" O, Brother! Let us sing the praises of the True Master who is capable of (powerful enough) carrying out all the functions. Just as a woman, who always sings the praises of her spouse, never becomes a widow after his death, and never (feels sorrowful or) goes into mourning; in fact, such a woman remains in a trance in the abode of her spouse and enjoys the bliss of his memory day and night.

She enjoys the bliss of his unison again, without any sign of wailing or grief (over his death). Similarly, the Sikh (disciple) who has realized the Lord, (who decides the fruit of our actions), is always engaged in reciting the True Name of the Lord through the nectar-like sweet Guru's Word, just like the wedded woman, who always remembers her spouse, being virtuous and maintains her good qualities and never feels sorrowful at the separation of her spouse. So let us always continue singing the praises of the Lord, who is II always an embodiment of Truth and is capable of doing anything. (1)

The True Lord, whom we have attained and realized through the Guru's guidance, would always merge us with Himself. Such a person then, imbued with the love of the LordSpouse, gets rid of his egoism like the woman in love with her spouse. Thus such a Guru-minded person, who has realized the (one) Lord-Sublime, perceives the same Lord pervading in all the human beings, ridding himself of his egoistic tendencies, as such the god of death cannot destroy his existence (and he becomes immortal).

Such a person then unites with the LordSpouse (like the wedded woman meeting her spouse) who is the benefactor of our life, thus fulfilling all his inner desires, and remains enamored in the embrace of the Lord-Spouse. Once we have realized the True Master through the Guru's guidance, the Lord enables us to merge with Him. (2)

The Guru-minded persons have realized the True Master, would be approached by me to find out the Lord's secrets by ridding myself of my egoism and I would serve such holy saints, and get united with the Lord in the normal manner (effortlessly). Such a person then engages himself in truthful actions being imbued with the love of the Lord-Spouse (like the woman) and remains intoxicated with reciting the True Name; such a person like the wedded woman who never becomes a widow remains in a trance in the memory of the Lord-Spouse, as he is never devoid of His love.

Let us consider the Lord always within us, being omnipresent and pervading equally all the beings and all the places and perceive the Lord before our very eyes. Such a person would always enjoy the bliss of the Lord's unison by perceiving the Lord within effortlessly. I would try to find out (seek) the ways and means of meeting the True Lord from such holy saints, who have been united with the Lord. (3)

Even the self-willed persons, separated from the Lord- Spouse, who has joined the company of the True Guru, could unite with the Lord, as the True Lord is ever benevolent, being the Lord-benefactor and casts away (burns) all our vicious· thoughts or shortcomings through the Guru's guidance. Such a person, getting rid of his vices and dual-mindedness or bad qualities through the Guru's guidance, gets merged with the True Lord, being a follower of Truth, (by becoming an embodiment of Truth).

Such Guru-minded persons, being devoid of their egoism and wandering mind, through the Guru's (guidance) Word, enjoy eternal bliss. O, Nanak! The True Master is always the benefactor of bliss, being True and pure and unites the human being with Himself through the Guru's guidance. O, Brother! The separated person could be reunited with the Lord-Spouse by taking refuge at the lotus feet of True Guru (like the woman taking shelter at the lotus feet of her spouse) and enjoy the bliss of His conjugal love. वडहंसु महला ३ महला तीजा ईश्वर एक है, जिसे सतगुरु की कृपा से पाया जा सकता है। हे जीव ! सच्चे हरि-प्रभु की स्तुति करनी चाहिए, चूंकि वह सबकुछ करने में समर्थ है। जो स्त्री पति-प्रभु का यशगान करती है, वह कदापि विधवा नहीं होती और न ही कभी उसे संताप होता है।

वह अपने पति-प्रभु के चरणों में रहती है, उसे कदाचित शोक नहीं होता और वह रात-दिन आनंद का उपभोग करती है। जो जीव-स्त्री अपने प्रिय कर्मविधाता को जानती है, वह अमृत वाणी बोलती है। गुणवान जीव-स्त्रियाँ अपने पति-प्रभु के गुणों का चिन्तन करती रहती हैं एवं उसे याद करती रहती हैं और उनका अपने पति-परमेश्वर से कभी वियोग नहीं होता। इसलिए हमें सर्वदा सच्चे परमेश्वर की ही स्तुति करनी चाहिए, जो सब कुछ करने में समर्थ है॥ १॥

सच्चा मालिक शब्द द्वारा ही पहचाना जाता है और वह स्वयं ही जीव को अपने साथ मिला लेता है। प्रिय-प्रभु के प्रेम रंग में लीन हुई जीव-स्त्री अपने हृदय से अपना अहंकार दूर कर देती है। अपने हृदय से अहंकार निवृत्त करने के कारण मृत्यु उसे दुबारा नहीं निगलती और गुरु के माध्यम से वह एक ईश्वर को ही जानती है।

जीव-स्त्री की इच्छा पूरी हो जाती है, उसका हृदय प्रेम से भर जाता है और उसे संसार को जीवन देने वाला दाता प्रभु मिल जाता है। वह शब्द के रंग से रंगी हुई है, यौवन से मतवाली हैं और अपने पति-परमेश्वर की गोद में विलीन हो जाती है। सच्चा मालिक शब्द द्वारा ही पहचाना जाता है और वह स्वयं ही जीव को अपने साथ मिला लेता है॥ २ ॥

जिन्होंने अपने पति-परमेश्वर को पहचान लिया है, मैं उन संतजनों के पास जाकर अपने स्वामी के बारे में पूछती हूँ। अपना अहंत्व मिटाकर मैं उनकी श्रद्धापूर्वक सेवा करती हूँ, इस तरह सहज स्वभाव ही सच्चा पति-प्रभु मुझे मिल जाएगा। जीव-स्त्री सत्य की साधना करती है एवं सच्चे शब्द में अनुरक्त हुई है।

इस तरह सच्चा पति-परमेश्वर आकर उसे मिल जाता है। वह कभी विधवा नहीं होती और सदा सुहागिन बनी रहती है। पति-परमेश्वर सर्वव्यापक है, उसे प्रत्यक्ष देख कर वह सहज-स्वभाव ही उसके प्रेम का आनंद प्राप्त करती है। जिन्होंने अपने पति-परमेश्वर को पहचान लिया है, मैं उन संतजनों के पास जाकर अपने स्वामी के बारे में पूछती हूँ॥ ३॥

पति-परमेश्वर से जुदा हुई जीव-स्त्रियों का अपने स्वामी से मिलन हो जाता है; यदि वे सतगुरु के चरणों में लंग जाएँ। सतगुरु हमेशा दया का घर है, उसके शब्द द्वारा मनुष्य के अवगुण मिट जाते हैं। अपने अवगुणों को गुरु के शब्द द्वारा जला कर जीव मोह-माया को त्याग देता है और केवल सत्य में ही समाया रहता है।

सच्चे शब्द द्वारा हमेशा सुख प्राप्त होता है और अहंकार एवं भ्रांतियाँ दूर हो जाती हैं। हे नानक ! पवित्र-पावन पति-परमेश्वर हमेशा ही सुख देने वाला है और वह शब्द द्वारा ही मिलता है। पति-परमेश्वर से जुदा हुई जीव-स्त्रियों का भी अपने सच्चे स्वामी से मिलन हो जाता है, यदि वे सतगुरु के चरणों में लग जाएँ॥ ४॥ १॥

(Prabh Sachra Har Salahiye) ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਹਰੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਦੇ ਨਿ-ਖਸਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਕਦੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਿਆਪਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਗ਼ਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਖਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪੈ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਗਵਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਦੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੀ (ਚਿਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ) ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ (ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨਾਲ) ਭਿੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਗੋਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹਾਗ-ਵਾਲੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਨਿ-ਖਸਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ।

ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਦੀ ਹਾਂ (ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੩।

ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ ਜੇ ਅਸੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗੀਏ। ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਗੁਰੂ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਦੇ) ਅਵਗਣ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ (ਜੋੜ ਕੇ) ਸਾੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਗੁਰੂ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰੱਤੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ, ਜੇ ਅਸੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗੀਏ।੪।੧।
