ਭਾਦੁਇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੀਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਗਾ ਹੇਤੁ ॥ ਲਖ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੇਤੁ ॥ ਜਿਤੁ ਦਿਨਿ ਦੇਹ ਬਿਨਸਸੀ ਤਿਤੁ ਵੇਲੈ ਕਹਸਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਤੁ ॥ ਪਕੜਿ ਚਲਾਇਨਿ ਦੂਤ ਜਮ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਦੇਨੀ ਭੇਤੁ ॥ ਛਡਿ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਖਿਨੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਲਗਾ ਹੇਤੁ ॥ ਹਥ ਮਰੋੜੈ ਤਨੁ ਕਪੇ ਸਿਆਹਹੁ ਹੋਆ ਸੇਤੁ ॥ ਜੇਹਾ ਬੀਜੈ ਸੋ ਲੁਣੈ ਕਰਮਾ ਸੰਦੜਾ ਖੇਤੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਚਰਣ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਤੁ ॥ ਸੇ ਭਾਦੁਇ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਰਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੇਤੁ ॥੭॥
English Translation
(Bhadon ) ( Bhadon Bharam Bhulania' Doojai Laga Hait )
During the month of Bhadon, man is engulfed in the worldly veil of falsehood (Maya) due to his dual-mindedness and is busy enjoying worldly pleasures, without achieving anything worthwhile despite their lavish beautification and embellishments, which are of no avail, and his actions will not be fruitful. Once life comes to an end, people will declare your body as that of a demon. All the near relations and family members, whom you loved, will feel alienated from you and desert you.
The god of death, Yama, will take possession of the body, and those responsible for evil actions in this world will be taken to hell, without giving any clue. The person concerned repents for his vicious deeds and trembles at the sight of Yama converting his body from black to white(pale) with fear. One should realize now that this body is like a field where whatever you sow, you shall reap similar (fruit) results accordingly, so whatever types of deeds man performs in this world, he begets identical reward.
O Nanak! The persons who have sought refuge at the Lord's feet will be saved by the Lord's ship of support to enable them to cross this ocean of life successfully. So during the month of Bhadon, the persons, who have the support of their loving Guru, will not be thrown at the gates of Hell. (7)
