ਦੇਵ ਗੰਧਾਰੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ( Ulti Re Man Ulti Re... ) ਮੁੜ ਪਉ ਹੇ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਮੁੜ ਪਉ ॥ ਓ, ਅਧਰਮੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਪਉ ॥ ਹੇ, ਕੂੜਾ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੂੜੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਦਾ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇ ॥ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਲਵਨੂੰਗੀ ॥ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਕ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ ॥ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ ॥

ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੋ ਕਾਲਖ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਘਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਜੋ ਅਧਰਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੈਦ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਉਹ ਮਾੜੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਹੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਮਾਲਕ! ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਕ ਤੇ ਆਮ੍ਹੋ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਨਾਂ ਕਰੀ ॥ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਾ ਦੇ, ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਰੱਬ ਕਰੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਰੁਲੇ ॥

Translation in English

Devgandhari Mahala 5th ( Ulti Re Man Ulti Re... )

Oh, my mind! Try to break away from other directions and divert your love towards the Lord alone; moreover, you should take your love off from the faithless persons and concentrate your love and devotion towards the Lord.

Oh, my mind! The love of false possessions is also untrue and this would give way (vanish) sooner or later, and if you continued your company of faithless persons, then you will not get relieved from your sufferings. So you should develop a love of the Lord, leaving the company of the faithless persons. (Pause-1)

What type of company does the faithless person offer? Just as a house is filled with coal dust so anyone going near it will also get blackened; similarly anyone in the company of faithless persons will get the blame for various ills or shortcomings. However, the Guru-minded persons, in the company of the Guru, get the three-pronged activity of the creator, created ones, and karma loosened and run away from such faithless persons, who are not to be befriended anymore. (1)

O Nanak! I pray to the Lord benefactor, fountain-head of all virtues, that my face may not be(facing) directed towards the faithless persons and would not be dealing with them at all. O Lord! Pray make me the slave of Your slaves and my head may be kept at the lotus feet of Your holy saints, so that I may finally get salvation by getting the support of the saints through the support and blessings of the Lord. देवगंधारी महला ५ ॥ ( Ulti Re Man Ulti Re... ) हे मेरे मन ! अपनी आदत को शीघ्र ही बदल दे तथा शाक्त इन्सान का साथ छोड़ दे। हे मन ! परमात्मा से विमुख झूठे लोगों की प्रीति झूठी ही समझ और इन्हें त्याग दे, क्योंकि उनकी संगति में रहने से तुझे मोक्ष की प्राप्ति नहीं हो सकती ॥ १॥ रहाउ॥

जैसे कोई व्यक्ति कालिख से भरे हुए घर में प्रविष्ट होता है तो काला ही हो जाता है। जो सच्चे गुरु से मिल जाता है उसके माथे की त्रिकुटी मिट जाती है और वह दुर्जन लोगों की संगति से दूर से ही भाग जाता है॥ १॥ हे कृपा के भण्डार ! हे कृपालु परमात्मा ! मैं तुझ से एक यही दान माँगता हूँ कि मेरा चेहरा शाक्त मनुष्य के सामने मत करना अर्थात् उससे मुझे दूर ही रखना। नानक को दासानुदास बना दो, चूंकि उसका सिर साधुओं के चरणों में विद्यमान रहे॥ २॥ ४॥ ३७ ॥
