Bhagat Khajana Bhagtan Ko Diya

1. English Translation

Sorath Mahala - 3 ( Bhagat Khajana Bhagtan Kou Dia )

The Lord has bestowed the treasure of reciting True Name, or the wealth of His worship, or the wealth of the True knowledge on His saints only. This treasure of True Name is limitless and never gets over-spent but human beings can never evaluate its true value or efficacy. In fact, the persons who have attained the wealth of True Name, proceed to the Lord's presence with flying colors, having purified themselves and getting enlightened with its splendor. (1)

Oh, my mind! We could attain union with the Lord through the Guru's guidance alone whereas the whole world is lost in doubts and misgivings or dual-mindedness without the Guru's support. Then they are punished in the Lord's court after death. (in the end). (Pause)

There are five thieves sexual desires, anger, greed, worldly attachments, and egoism residing within the human body, who are robbing the (wealth) nectar of good qualities and virtues from within the human soul) mind but the self-willed persons have no knowledge of this loss (theft). Even if someone were to make a noise about his loss (theft) no one listens to his wails or cries. The whole world is functioning in the darkness of ignorance like a blind man, as there is total darkness within the (soul) mind in the absence of the Guru's guidance. (2)

The egoistic persons waste their whole life in their egoism or "I-am-ness", and get disgusted, whereas nothing accompanies man after death as all these worldly possessions are left behind in the end, while proceeding to the next world. The Guru-minded persons, however, inculcate the love of the Lord's True Name in their hearts and amass the wealth of True Name in body and (mind) soul. The persons, who sing the praises of the Lord with love and devotion (with body and mind) through the Guru's Word, enjoy the bliss of life (get thrilled) through the Grace of the Lord. (3)

The (dictates) ordains of the persons, who are always enlightened with the knowledge of the True Guru, supersede the commands (orders) of the greatest kings even. They are always immersed in the worship of the Lord, during day and night and there is bright sunlight even during the night as the darkness of ignorance has been expelled (cast away) from within. They have gained the profit of the True Name of the Lord (in the business of life). O Nanak! The persons, who are imbued with the love of the Guru's teachings, have perceived the Lord close by (within themselves), and have crossed this ocean of life successfully by reciting the Lord's True Name. ( Bhagat Khajana Bhagtan Kau Diya )

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਗਤ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਅਗਾਂਹ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਦੰਡ ਸਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ) ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਐਸਾ ਧਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਹ ਧਨ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) । ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਪੰਜ ਚੋਰ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਲੁੱਟਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ। (ਜਦੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਲੁਟਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ) ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ (ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ) । ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਗਤ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

'ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਾਂ', 'ਇਹ ਧਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੈ'-ਇਹ ਆਖ ਆਖ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੁਰਦੀ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਭੀ) ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੨।

सोरठि महला ३ ॥ ( Bhagat Khajana Bhagtan Kau Diya ) परमात्मा ने अपनी भक्ति का खजाना भक्तों को दिया है और हरि का नाम ही उनका सच्चा धन है। यह अक्षय नाम-धन कदापि खत्म नहीं होता और न ही इसका मूल्यांकन किया जा सकता है। हरि के नाम-धन से भक्तजनों के मुख उज्ज्वल हो गए हैं और उन्हें सत्यस्वरूप हरि मिल गया है॥ १॥

हे मेरे मन ! गुरु के शब्द द्वारा ही श्रीहरि पाया जाता है। यह दुनिया शब्द के बिना दुविधा में पड़कर भटकती ही रहती है और हरि के दरबार में कठोर दण्ड प्राप्त करती है॥ रहाउ॥

इस शरीर के अन्दर पाँच चोर-कामवासना, क्रोध, लालच, मोह एवं अहंकार निवास करते हैं। वे नाम रूपी अमृत को लूटते रहते हैं, लेकिन मनमुख व्यक्ति इस तथ्य को नहीं समझते और कोई भी उनकी फरियाद नहीं सुनता। यह दुनिया अन्धी अर्थात् ज्ञानहीन है और इसके व्यवहार भी अन्धे हैं और गुरु के बिना घोर अन्धेरा है॥ २॥

अहंकार में मैं-मेरा करते हुए प्राणी पीड़ित होते रहते हैं किन्तु जब मृत्यु का समय आता है तो कुछ भी उनके साथ नहीं जाता। जो व्यक्ति गुरुमुख बन जाता है वह नाम का ही ध्यान करता है और सदैव हरि-नाम की ही आराधना करता रहता है। वह सच्ची वाणी के द्वारा हरि का गुणगान करता है और करुणा के घर परमात्मा की करुणा-दृष्टि से कृतार्थ हो जाता है॥ ३॥

सतगुरु का दिया हुआ ज्ञान हमेशा ही उसके हृदय को रोशन करता है और परमात्मा का हुक्म बादशाहों के सिर पर भी है। भक्त रात-दिन प्रभु की भक्ति करते रहते हैं और राम-नाम रूपी सच्चा लाभ प्राप्त करते हैं। हे नानक ! राम-नाम के फलस्वरूप ही मनुष्य की मुक्ति हो जाती है और शब्द में मग्न होने से हरि मिल जाता है।॥ ४॥ २॥
