Sangrand March 2026
On March 14th, 2026, we'll welcome a special commemorative occasion at the beginning of the new Nanakshahi year 558. The Nanakshahi Samvat 558 will begin with Chetra Month Date 1, Saturday. May this New Nanakshahi Year bring peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth to all. May we strive to live in harmony with the Divine Will and cherish the gift of life by remembering Waheguru in every moment.
ਚੇਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਪਾਇ ਲਗਾ ॥
"May we meet the Divine Lord in this month of Chet and surrender ourselves at His feet."

March Sangrand (Chetra Sankranti)
The Sangrand of Chetra month is an auspicious event celebrated with huge fancy and melody in many places of India. In Sikhism, Sankranti or Sangrand does not have any religious significance, but it does have spiritual and cultural meaning in the lives of Sikhs. Sangrand or Sankranti is believed to be a positive time, and many Sikhs commemorate this day by offering prayers and performing kirtan.
Chetra Sangrand reminds us about the necessity of fresh starts as well as about the opportunities they create. It is the time to let the past be in the past, the present retain the present, and the future stay ahead.

Chaitra (Chetar, Chet) is 1st Month in Barah Maha Manjh [March-April]
With the dawn of Chaitra, let us call on Govind, the Harbinger of joy.
We are Ushered into His Realms by men of piety.
Call on Him, my tongue,
For, they who Realise Him, their Lord, make purposeful their earthly sojourn,
And denied His Grace, life wastes itself away in void. ‘
For all is He-on lands, in waters, in spaces and stars, and woods and dales.
How painful it is, therefore, to lose His grip?
Fortunate are they who Realise Him in themselves.
Oh, how my soul craves and yearns for His Vision,
In the month of Chaitra!
I take to the Feet of him who Unites me with my Lord.
Punjabi Translation
ਚੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਭਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਗਮਨ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੇਖੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥ ਬੇ-ਅਰਥ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਗੇਰ, ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ, ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਣੀ, ਸੁੱਕੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਜਮੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੀ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ॥ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਕੁ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਮੈਂ ਗਿਣਾਂ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਪਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਲਈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤਰਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਤਿਹਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਵੇ ॥
Hindi Translation
चेत्त (चैत्र) मास में गोविंद का स्मरण करने से अत्यधिक आनंद प्राप्त होता है। संतजनों की संगति में प्रभु को पाया जा सकता है, और जीभ से उसका नाम जपना चाहिए। जिसने अपने परमात्मा को प्राप्त कर लिया, उसका जीवन धन्य हो जाता है। एक क्षण भी प्रभु के बिना जीना व्यर्थ है, ऐसा जीवन निरर्थक माना जाता है।
जल, थल और आकाश में वही प्रभु व्यापक रूप से व्याप्त है और वनस्पतियों में भी समाया हुआ है। यदि ऐसा प्रभु मन में ना आए, तो सोचो, कितना दुख सहना पड़ेगा! जिन्होंने उस प्रभु को सच्चे प्रेम से स्मरण किया, वे बड़े भाग्यशाली हैं। हे नानक! मन प्रभु के दर्शन के लिए तरसता है, उसे पाने की प्यास लगी रहती है। जो व्यक्ति इस चैत्र मास में प्रभु से मिलाता है, मैं उसके चरणों में नतमस्तक होता हूँ। (२)

1. Devotion to the Divine
The shabad introduces the sacred practice of Divine worship which should be followed during Chet month. Through meditation on the Divine essence people can attain great joy together with deep fulfillment.
(ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਜਾ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਚੇਤ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤੱਤ 'ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲੋਕ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
2. The Power of Sangat
A saintly assembly (sangat) gives unmatched value. Chanting the Lord's Name becomes our inspiration because of the association with this spiritual group.
(ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ) ਇੱਕ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ (ਸੰਗਤ) ਬੇਮਿਸਾਲ ਮੁੱਲ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਸਮੂਹ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਸਾਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
3. The Futility of Life Without the Divine
A life without remembering the Creator becomes pointless according to this description. A shabad demonstrates that the only true purpose exists in our connection to the Divine.
(ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਅਰਥਤਾ) ਇਸ ਵਰਣਨ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕੋ ਇੱਕ ਸੱਚਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
4. The Omnipresence of God
God exists in total omnipresence since He fills all parts of water and land and skies. Through His everywhere presence God becomes visible to mankind yet people miss His presence thus causing themselves additional pain.
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਵਵਿਆਪੀਤਾ) ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਰਵਵਿਆਪੀਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ, ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸਦੀ ਹਰ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਮਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਲੋਕ ਉਸਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਧੂ ਦਰਦ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
5. The Blessings of Divine Grace
Those who can remember along with worship the Lord receive incredible good fortune in their lives. Life with divine grace leads them toward meaningful existence.
(ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਆਸ਼ੀਰਵਾਦ) ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ਼ਯੋਗ ਚੰਗੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਥਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਂਦ ਵੱਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
6. The Longing for Divine Vision
The shabad ends by expressing deep desire for seeing the Lord in spiritual vision called darshan. Guru Nanak Dev Ji delivers a message about the spiritual yearning of the human soul to meet God.
(ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਖਤਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਤਾਂਘ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
