Guru Granth Sahib Ji - Living Embodiment of Sikh Gurus, Bhagats
Guru Granth Sahib is a religious scripture different from other religious scriptures. It is unique in many ways - It is not delivered, spoken, or written by one spiritual leader. It includes the compositions of thirty-six elders, yet it maintains the homogeneity of thought and practice.
The religious, linguistic, geographical, national, and cultural diversity of the Indian people has, in Guru Granth Sahib, found a platform to present a single unified religious poetics. The credit for this goes to Guru Nanak Sahib, the founder of the Sikh religion, and the first poet of Guru Granth Sahib.
It is in this context that the God of Guru Nanak is Formless, thus related to everyone, yet detached. The problem is that if God has a form, like that of the god of the idol-worshippers, that occupies a place it has to be placed in time. But Formless one is free from both time and place and, therefore, transcends all bonds and contexts, though He vibrates in every being. At this point, Formless is manifesting through all forms. He is One for all, irrespective of one's affiliations, and absolutely formless in all contexts.
