Bilawal Mahala - 5th ( Sadh Sangat Kai Basbai... )
O Brother! By joining the company of holy saints all our sins get destroyed through the fear of this company. The human being is not caught in the cycle of births and deaths by teaching the love of the True Master. (1)
O Brother! The tongue gets purified by repeating the True Name of the Lord and the body and mind also get purified by listening to the message of the Guru (Guru's Word), and the individual gets immersed in the recitation of Lord's True Name. (Pause-1)
O Brother! The saint gets thrilled and enjoys the attainment of the Lord's True Name and he gets satiated by partaking the True Name, as he gets enlightened with it. The heart, in the form of an upside-down tilted lotus flower, then gets straightened and a ray of hope dawns on the individual as he attains the right type of wisdom. (Right approach). (2)
Now the fire of worldly desires within (the heart) gets extinguished as we attain peace and tranquillity of mind by attaining the qualities of peace and contentment within. The mind gets stabilized when the love of the Lord gets taught in one's mind (heart) and stops running around (wandering) in all the ten directions, as it rests now within its true abode (as it attains self-realization). (3)
O Nanak! Now the Lord has saved the human being from the onslaughts of the worldly sufferings and all his doubts and misgivings have been (reduced to ashes) removed. We have enjoyed the state of bliss by perceiving a glimpse of the holy saints and attaining the treasure of True Name. (4-13-43)

बिलावलु महला ५ ॥ साधसंगति कै बासबै कलमल सभि नसना ॥ प्रभ सेती रंगि रातिआ ता ते गरभि न ग्रसना ॥१॥ नामु कहत गोविंद का सूची भई रसना ॥ मन तन निरमल होई है गुर का जपु जपना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ हरि रसु चाखत ध्रापिआ मनि रसु लै हसना ॥ बुधि प्रगास प्रगट भई उलटि कमलु बिगसना ॥२॥ सीतल सांति संतोखु होइ सभ बूझी त्रिसना ॥ दह दिस धावत मिटि गए निरमल थानि बसना ॥३॥ राखनहारै राखिआ भए भ्रम भसना ॥ नामु निधान नानक सुखी पेखि साध दरसना ॥४॥१३॥४३॥

बिलावलु महला ५ ॥ संतों की संगति में से सारे पाप नाश हो जाते हैं। प्रभु के रंग में रंगने से गर्भ में प्रवेश नहीं होता ॥ १॥ गोविंद का नाम जपने से जिह्वा शुद्ध हो गई है, गुरु का बताया जाप जपने से मन-तन निर्मल हो गया है। १॥ रहाउ ॥
हरि-रस चखकर मन बड़ा तृप्त हो गया है और इसका स्वाद लेकर मन बहुत खुश रहता है। उलटा पड़ा हृदय खिल गया है और बुद्धि में ज्ञान का प्रकाश हो गया है॥ २॥ मन में शीतल, शान्ति एवं सन्तोष उत्पन्न हो गया है, जिससे सारी तृष्णा बुझ गई है। मेरे मन की दसों दिशाओं वाली भटकन मिट गई है और अब यह निर्मल स्थान में बसने लग गया है॥ ३॥ सर्वरक्षक परमात्मा ने मुझे बचा लिया है और मेरे मन के भ्रम जलकर राख हो गए हैं। हे नानक ! नाम निधि को पाकर तथा साधुओं के दर्शन करके सुखी हो गया हूँ॥ ४॥ १३॥ ४३॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਜੀਭ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ (ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਜਾਪ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਰੀਰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ (ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਿਆਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਸੀਦਾ।੧।
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਚੱਖਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜੇ ਰਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬੁੱਧੀ ਵਿਚ (ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬੁੱਧੀ ਉੱਜਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕੌਲ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪਰਤ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ) ਠੰਢਾ-ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਤੇ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰਾਖੀ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਭਟਕਣਾਂ (ਸੜ ਕੇ) ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ (ਜੋ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ (ਹੈ) , (ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।੪।੧੩।੪੩।
