Raakh Liye Apne Jan Aap; is from the sacred baani of Guru Arjan Dev Ji in raag Bilaaval - Ang 821 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

English Translation

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਅਪਨੇ ਜਨ ਆਪ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਨੋ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਗਏ ਸਭ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Raakh Liye Apne Jan Aap, Kar Kirpa Har Har Naam Deeno, Binas Gaye Sabh Sog Santaap

O, Brother! The True Master has protected the honor of His (devotees) slaves Himself. The persons, who have been blessed with the boon of True Name through His Grace and benevolence, cast away all their sufferings or afflictions, hurdles, and sorrows. (Pause- 1)

ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸਭਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਰਾਗ ਰਤਨ ਰਸਨਾ ਆਲਾਪ ॥ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਨਿਵਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣਿ ਆਤਮ ਧ੍ਰਾਪ ॥੧॥
O, Brother! Let us all join hands in singing the praises of the Lord and sing all the jewel-like Ragas with our tongue in the praise of the Lord Thus we could satisfy all our worldly desires of millions of ages (births) and fulfill our hopes, as the nectar of Lord's True Name is the fountain-head of all bliss, which satiates our mind by partaking this nectar of True Name. (1)

ਚਰਣ ਗਹੇ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪ ॥ ਸਾਗਰ ਤਰੇ ਭਰਮ ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥੨॥੫॥੮੫॥
O Nanak! We have been able to cross this ocean of worldly sufferings through the Grace and might of the Lord, which has cast away all our misgivings and fear (of death) as we have recited the True Name by listening to the Guru's Word. Thus we have sought the support of the Lord-benefactor, bestower of all joy and comforts, by seeking refuge at the lotus-feet of the True Master.

English Transliteration

The Lord has saved me, His Devotee,
In His grace the Name Divine has He conferred;
Thereby are shattered suffering and torment. (1-Pause)
Sing all you devotees of God, Divine laudation;
By your tongue raise the jewel music of His praise.
Assuaged thereby is the thirst of millions of births,
And by Divine elixir is the self fulfill led. (1)
Feet of the Lord, Donor of bliss have we grasped,
And by the Master's Word uttered the Divine text of prayer.
The ocean of existence have we crossed;
Shattered are doubt and fear,
Saith Nanak: Such is the Lord's might. (2) (5.85)

बिलावल महला ५ ॥ राख लीए अपने जन आप ॥
कर किरपा हर हर नाम दीनो बिनस गए सभ सोग संताप ॥१॥ रहाउ॥
गुण गोविंद गावहु सभ हर जन राग रतन रसना आलाप ॥
कोट जनम की त्रिसना निवरी राम रसाइण आतम ध्राप ॥१॥
चरण गहे सरण सुखदाते गुर कै बचन जपे हर जाप॥
सागर तरे भरम भै बिनसे कहु नानक ठाकुर परताप ॥२॥५॥८५॥

Hindi Translation

बिलावल महला ५ ॥ ( Raakh Liye Apne Jan Aap )

ईश्वर ने स्वयं ही अपने दास को बचा लिया है। उसने कृपा करके नाम दिया है, जिससे सारे शोक-संताप नष्ट हो गए हैं॥ १॥ रहाउ॥

हे भक्तजनो ! सभी मिलकर गोविंद का गुणगान करो और अपनी जिव्हा सेअमूल्य राग उच्चारण करो। अब करोड़ों जन्मों की तृष्णा दूर हो गई है और राम नाम रूपी रसायन से आत्मा तृप्त हो गई है॥ १ ॥

मैंने सुखदाता की शरण लेकर उसके चरण पकड़ लिए हैं तथा गुरु के वचन द्वारा हरि का जाप किया है। हे नानक ! ठाकुर के प्रताप से भवसागर से पार हो गए हैं और सारे भृम -भय नाश हो गए हैं ॥ २॥ ५ ॥ ८५॥

Punjabi Translation

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਸਾਰੇ (ਰਲ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ, ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ। (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਰਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਭਰਮ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ।੨।੫।੮੫।
