Vadhans Mahala-3 ( Rasna Har Saad Lagi Sehaj Subhaay )

Now the tongue has tasted the nectar of the Lord’s True Name with its sweetness, which has led to the state of equipoise and perfect peace (in the normal course) so the heart is fully satiated with the recitation of True Name. (1)

The Guru-minded persons, who contemplate the Guru’s Word and (teachings) with the concentration of mind, always enjoy the bliss of life in meditating on the True Name, and they offer themselves as a sacrifice to the True Guru. (Pause-1) Such Guru-minded persons have got their eyes satiated by concentrating their glance on the True Lord and then they attain peace and tranquillity of mind by getting rid of their dual-mindedness. (2)

The body and soul also feel the pleasure and joy of reciting the Lord’s True Name through the Guru’s guidance, as the (Chandan-like) fragrance of True Name remains imbued in their hearts. (3)

O, Nanak! The Guru-minded person, who is fortunate enough and is predestined with Lord’s Will, attains the state of complete detachment from worldly pleasures by singing the praises of the Lord through the Gurus’ Word in the state of equipoise and finally merges with Him. (4-7)

ਅਰਥ: ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ( Rasna Har Saad Lagi Sehaj Subhaay ), ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ (ਪਰਾਏ ਰੂਪ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਜਾਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਵੈਰਾਗ ਉਪਜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੭॥

वडहंस महला ३ ॥
मेरी जीभ हरि-नाम के स्वाद में सहज-स्वभाव ही लगी है;
हरि-नाम का ध्यान करके मेरा मन तृप्त हो गया है॥ १॥
सच्चे परमेश्वर का चिंतन करने से सर्वदा सुख प्राप्त होता है और
अपने सतिगुरु पर मैं हमेशा ही बलिहारी जाता हूँ॥ १॥ रहाउ॥
एक परमात्मा के साथ लगन लगाकर मेरे नेत्र संतुष्ट हो गए हैं और
द्वैतभाव को त्याग कर मेरे मन में संतोष आ गया है॥ २॥
शब्द-गुरु द्वारा हरि-नाम की आराधना करने से शरीर में सुख हो गया है और
नाम की सुगन्धि मेरे हृदय में समाई हुई है॥ ३॥
हे नानक ! जिसके माथे पर अहोभाग्य लिखा होता है,
वह गुरु की वाणी द्वारा सहज स्वभाव ही वैरागी बन जाता है।४ ॥ ७ ॥
