“By the Grace of the Lord-sublime, Truth personified & attainable through the Guru’s guidance”.

O, Lord! We are like Your beggars, seeking (begging for) Your favors and You are our True Master, bestowing Your benedictions on us (all the time) May I be blessed with Your True Name through Your Grace (as a slave of Yours is begging for it) so that I am always imbued with the love of Your True Name! (1)

O, True Lord! I would offer myself as a sacrifice to Your True Name, as You are controlling everything in the world, being the cause and effect of everything happening in this world, as there is no other power apart from You, controlling our actions. (Pause- 1) O, Lord! This poor and helpless devotee (slave) of the Lord has been suffering through the cycle of births and deaths, leading to different forms of life. May I be blessed with Your Grace now so that I could get a glimpse of the vision of the Lord-benefactor, being a recipient of the Lord’s Grace (2)

O, Nanak! All my doubts and misgivings (including dual-mindedness) have been cast away and clarified (by throwing open all the doors) through the Guru’s Grace, thus realizing the Lord. Having imbibed the love of the Guru with faith and devotion I have developed a true love of the Lord in my heart, – thus reciting True Name always. (3-1-9)

राग धनासिरी महला ३ घरु ४ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसाद ॥ हम भीखक भेखारी तेरे तू निज पत है दाता ॥ होहो दयाल नाम देहो मंगत जन कंओ सदा रहओ रंग राता ॥१॥ हंओ बलिहारै जाउ साचे तेरे नाम विटहो ॥ करण कारण सभना का एको अवर न दूजा कोई ॥१॥ रहाओ ॥ बहुते फेर पए किरपन कओ अब किछ किरपा कीजै ॥ होहो  दयाल दरसन देहो अपुना ऐसी बखस करीजै ॥२॥ भनत नानक भरम पट खूल्हे गुर परसादी जानेआ ॥ साची लिव लागी है भीतर सतिगुर सिओ मन मानेआ ॥३॥१॥९॥

राग धनासिरी महला ३ घरु ४ ईश्वर एक है, जिसे सतगुरु की कृपा से पाया जा सकता है। हे ईश्वर ! मैं तेरे दरबार पर भिक्षा माँगने वाला भिखारी हूँ। और तू खुद ही अपना स्वामी है और सबको देने वाला है। हे सर्वेश्वर ! मुझ पर दयालु हो जाओ। मुझ भिक्षुक को अपना नाम प्रदान कीजिए ताकि मैं सदैव ही तेरे प्रेम-रंग में मग्न रहूँ॥१॥

हे सच्चे परमेश्वर! मैं तेरे नाम पर कुर्बान जाता हूँ। एक तू ही इस जगत, माया एवं सब जीवों को पैदा करने वाला है। तेरे सिवाय दूसरा कोई सर्वशक्तिमान नहीं है॥१॥ रहाउ॥ हे परमपिता ! मुझ कृपण को जन्म-मरण के बहुत चक्र पड़ चुके हैं, अब मुझ पर कुछ कृपा करो। मुझ पर दयालु हो जाओ। मुझे अपने दर्शन दीजिए, मुझ पर केवल ऐसी मेहर प्रदान करो ॥ २॥

नानक का कथन है कि भ्रम के किवाड़ (परदे) खुल गए हैं और गुरु की कृपा से सत्य को जान लिया है। मेरे मन में प्रभु से सच्ची प्रीति लग गई है और मेरा मन गुरु के साथ संतुष्ट हो गया है॥३॥१॥६॥

ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈਂ.
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ (ਦਰ ਦੇ) ਮੰਗਤੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੰਗਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ (ਤਾ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ।੧।

ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗੇੜ ਪੈ ਚੁਕੇ ਹਨ। ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ. ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ।
ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਭਰਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਦੇ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ) ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
