English Translation

Jaitsri Mahala – 4 Ghar – 2
Ik Onkar Satgur Prasad
( Har Har Simrahu Agam Apara )
“By the Grace of the Lord-sublime, Truth personified & attainable through the Guru’s guidance.”

Let us always recite the True Name of the limitless Lord who is beyond our comprehension, which would cast away all our and suffering through His worship. O, Brother! Let us join the company of the True Guru, engaged in the recitation of True Name, as by uniting with the Guru we could enjoy all the bliss of life. (1)

O, dear friend! Let us sing the praises of the Lord, by inculcating the love of the Lord in our hearts. Let us hear and discuss the nectar of the Guru’s Word by the recitation of True Name, as the company of the Guru would enlighten us with knowledge. (2)

The Lord, who is the destroyer of the demon of egoism and the Master of Nature in the world, is the protector of our lives. Such a Lord has endeared Himself with love within our body and soul. O, Brother! When the Lord enables us to unite with the Guru through His Grace, then we are likely to merge with the Lord, free from the effects of Maya. (3)

The Lord’s True Name is the benefactor and bestower of all worldly pleasures and comforts, as my heart is imbued with the love of the Lord Almighty so that we could enjoy the bliss of life through the Guru’s Grace. (4- 1- 7)

जैतसरी महला ४ घर २ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ हरि हरि सिमरहु अगम अपारा ॥ जिस सिमरत दुख मिटै हमारा ॥ हरि हरि सतिगुरु पुरख मिलावहु गुर मिलिऐ सुख होई राम ॥१॥ हरि गुण गावहु मीत हमारे ॥ हरि हरि नाम रखहु उर धारे ॥ हरि हरि अमृत बचन सुणावहु गुर मिलिऐ परगट होई राम ॥२॥ मधुसूदन हरि माधो प्राना ॥ मेरै मन तन अमृत मीठ लगाना ॥ हरि हरि दया करहु गुरु मेलहु पुरख निरंजन सोई राम ॥३॥ हरि हरि नाम सदा सुखदाता ॥ हरि कै रंग मेरा मन राता ॥ हरि हरि महा पुरख गुरु मेलहु गुर नानक नाम सुख होई राम ॥४॥१॥७॥

जैतसरी महला ४ घरु २ ईश्वर एक है, जिसे सतगुरु की कृपा से पाया जा सकता है। अगम्य एवं अपरंपार हरि का सिमरन करो, जिसका सिमरन करने से हमारा दुःख मिट जाता है। हे हरि ! मुझे महापुरुष सतगुरु से मिला दो, क्योंकि गुरु मिलने से ही सुख की प्राप्ति होती है॥१॥

हे मेरे मित्रो! भगवान के गुण गाओ; हरि-नाम को अपने हृदय में बसाकर रखो। मुझे हरि के अमृत वचन सुनाओ, जब गुरु मिल जाता है तो भगवान चित में प्रगट हो जाता है।॥२॥

हे मधुसूदन! हरि! हे माधव! तू ही मेरे प्राण है और मेरे मन एवं तन में तेरा नाम ही अमृत के समान मीठा लगता है। हे प्रभु ! दया करके मुझे गुरु से मिला दो, क्योंकि वही महापुरुष, माया से निर्लिप्त परमात्मा के समान है॥३॥

हरि-नाम हमेशा सुख प्रदान करने वाला है। अतः मेरा मन हरि के रंग में ही मग्न रहता है। हे हरि ! मुझे महापुरुष गुरु से मिला दो, क्योंकि हे नानक ! गुरु के नाम द्वारा ही सुख प्राप्त होता है॥४॥१॥७॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ। ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖੋ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੋਲ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ। (ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹੋ) , ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ (ਦੇ ਸਹਾਰੇ) ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਹੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾ। ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ) ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧।੭।
