ਬੋਲਹੁ ਭਈਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨੋ

Punjabi Translation

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ ॥ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਬਿਲਾਵਲ ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਹੇ ਵੀਰ! ਤੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ॥ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਦੁੱਖੜੇ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਫਲਦਾਇਕ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਮੈਂ ਦਰਦ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥ ਮੈਂ ਮੌਖਸ਼ਸ਼ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਲਾਭਦਾਇਕ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਮੈਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਰਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ॥ ਜੋ ਉਮੈਦ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੇ-ਉਮੈਦ ਵਿਚਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਫਤਾਂ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਉੇਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

English Translation

“By the Grace of the Lord-sublime, Truth personified & attainable through the Guru’s guidance.”

O Brother! Let us recite the Lord’s True Name which could purify the sinners even, as it is the True Name alone which enables the holy saints also to cross this ocean of life successfully. The Lord – Sublime is pervading in full measure all over the world, and we should daily sing the praises of the Lord who is pervading all lands and oceans and could rid us of all our ills and sufferings. (Pause – 1)

O, friend! The True Master has made our life successful, as we have recited the True Name of the Lord, who casts away all our afflictions. We have got united with the Guru, who bestows salvation on us so that our life in the world has been rewarded (has become successful) and we have recited Lord’s True Name through the Guru’s guidance. Now we sing the praises of the Lord in the company of the holy saints. (1)

Oh, my mind! Let us remain steadfast in the hope of (reciting) attaining True Name. We could cast away our dual-mindedness (from the mind) as soon as we rid ourselves of the second thoughts, (of Maya) responsible for our destruction. The person, who develops the (hope) love of the Lord’s True Name, giving up the hope (love) of gaining worldly desires (fulfilled), becomes an embodiment of the Lord Himself and thus merges with Him. O Nanak! The person, who is always engaged in singing the Lord’s praises, gets refuge at the lotus feet of the True Master and gets united with Him finally. (2-17-17)

Hindi Translation

ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ राग बिलावल महला ४ पड़ताल घर १३ ॥
हे भाई ! पतितों को पावन करने वाला राम नाम बोलो। वह प्रभु ही संतों एवं भक्तों का उद्धार करने वाला है।
ईश्वर हर जगह भरपूर है। राम का नाम जल एवं पृथ्वी में विद्यमान है।
नित्य दुखों का नाश करने वाले हरि का यश गाना चाहिए॥ १ ॥ रहाउ ॥

प्रभु ने हमारा जन्म सफल कर दिया है क्योकि हमने दुखनाशक हरि का जाप किया है हमें मुक्तिदाता गुरु मिल गया है।
हरि ने हमारी जीवन-यात्रा सफल कर दी है, अतः संगत में मिलकर हरि के गुण गाते रहते हैं।॥ १॥
हे मेरे मन ! राम-नाम की आशा करो, यह द्वैतभाव को नाश कर देगा।
जो आदमी आशा में निराश अर्थात् निर्लिप्त रहता है, वह भगवान् को मिल जाता है।
जो राम नाम का गुणगान करता है नानक उसके चरण स्पर्श करता है ॥ २॥ १॥ ७॥ ४॥ ६॥ ७॥ १७॥
