English Translation 1

Sorath Mahala · 5 ( Antar Ki Gat Tumhi Jani )
O, Lord! You alone know the inner state of my mind being omniscient (my inner feelings), and You alone could solve all my problems and hurdles.
O, True Master! May You save us (protect us) from all our failings and shortcomings by pardoning all our sins in which we were engrossed all the time. (1)
O, Lord! You are our True Master, remaining close by us (within us). O, True Master! I have sought Your support (sought refuge at Your lotus-feet) being Your devotee (slave)(Pause-1)
O, Lord! You are limitless beyond any count, and an ocean of all virtues, being the greatest power, too deep for any probe, and beyond our comprehension.
O Nanak! The Lord has accepted me as His slave (devotee) by breaking (cutting) the chains of worldly bondage and worldly desires, as such I do not seek the support of any other power. (2-7-35)

Sorath, Fifth Mehl:
Thou alone Knowest my inmost state, O Lord; with Thee lies the ultimate Judgement.
Forgive me Thou, O my Master, though I’ve committed myriads of Sins.
O Lord, Thy Presence is ever so near :
Bless me, Thy Servant, with the Refuge of Thy Feet. [I-Pause] Infinite, Highest of the high, of Unfathomable Virtues, art Thou, O my Master,
And now when Thou hast made me Thy Slave, snapping my Bonds!, why shall I look up to another? [2-7-35]

Sorath, Fifth Mehl: Only You know the state of my innermost self; You alone can judge me. Please forgive me, O Lord God Master; I have committed thousands of sins and mistakes. ||1|| O my Dear Lord God Master, You are always near me. O Lord, please bless Your disciple with the shelter of Your feet. ||1||Pause|| Infinite and endless is my Lord and Master; He is lofty, virtuous, and profoundly deep. Cutting away the noose of death, the Lord has made Nanak His slave, and now, what does he owe to anyone else? ||2||7||35||

My mind’s conditions, Thou alone knowest and with Thee lies the ultimate judgment.
Pardon me, Thou, O my Lord Master, though I have committed lakhs of mistakes and sins.
My beloved Lord, Thou ever abide near me, O my Masters.
O God, bless me, Thy attendant with the refuge of Thine feel |Pause|
Beyond reckoning, infinite, lofty, virtuous, and deep is my Lord.
Snapping the noose, the Lord has made Nanak His own slave, then what obligation he owes to anyone. ||2||7||35||

ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖ।1। ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣ ਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੀ ਅੰਦਰਲੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਾਤਮਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈ।1। ਹੇ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! सोरठ महला ५ ॥ अंतर की गत तुम ही जानी तुझ ही पाहि निबेरो ॥ बखस लैहु साहिब प्रभ अपने लाख खते कर फेरो ॥१॥ प्रभ जी तू मेरो ठाकुर नेरो ॥ हर चरण सरण मोहि चेरो ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ बेसुमार बेअंत सुआमी ऊचो गुनी गहेरो ॥ काट सिलक कीनो अपुनो दासरो तउ नानक कहा निहोरो ॥२॥७॥३५॥

गति-आत्मिक अवस्था। पाहि-पास। निबेरो-निबेड़ा, फैसला। साहिब-हे स्वामी ! खते-पाप। करि फेरो-करता घूमता हूँ।1। ठाकुरु-पालनहार। नेरो-करीब, अंग-संग। मोहि-मुझे। चेरो-चेरा, दास।1।रहाउ। स्वामी-हे स्वामी ! गुनी-गुणों का स्वामी। गहेरो-गहरा। सिलक-फांसी। दासरो-छोटा सादास। तउ-तब। निहोरो-मोहताजी।2।

Translation in Hindi:

हे भगवान जी ! तूं मेरा पालणहारा स्वामी हैं, मेरे अंग-संग बसता हैं। हे हरि ! मुझे अपने चरणों की शरण में रख, मुझे अपना दास बनाए रख।1।रहाउ। हे मेरे अपने स्वामी भगवान ! मेरे दिल की हालत तूं ही जानता हैं, तेरी शरण आने से ही (मेरी अंदर वाली मंदी हालत का) खातमा हो सकता है। मैं लाखों पाप करता घूमता हूँ। हे मेरे स्वामी ! मुझे बख्श ले।1। हे बेशुमार भगवान ! हे बयंत ! हे मेरे स्वामी ! तूं ऊँची आत्मिक अवस्था वाला हैं, तूं सारे गुणों का स्वामी हैं, तूं गहरा हैं। हे नानक ! (बोल-हे भगवान ! जब तूं किसी मनुख की विकारों की) फांसी काट के उस को अपना दास बना लेता हैं, तब उस को किसी की मोहताजी नहीं रहती।2।7।35।
