Punjabi Translation

ਸਲੋਕ ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਧਾਰਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਮੰਦ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਣੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਛਲ ਫਰੇਬ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਲੀਏ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਛਲ ਫਰੇਬ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਬਿਲਕੁੱਲ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਲਈ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਜੇਕਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰੇ, ਤਦ ਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ॥ ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੱਚਤ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥ ਹੋਰਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਅਸਥਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ॥ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਿਲਕੁੱਲ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਭ ਦਾ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ-ਘੁੱਪ ਹੈ ॥ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ॥ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਗਮ-ਮਾਰੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ॥ ਊਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਤੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ, ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ ॥

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਉਹ ਸਾਧੂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਉਹ ਸੁਧਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਥੀ ਵੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥

English Translation

Slok Mahalla 4 ( Antar Agyan Bhai Mat Madham )
The self-willed persons have no faith in the True Guru as they are engrossed in the darkness of ignorance and their wisdom is under the cover of darkness and filthy advice. They consider all others full of deceit and filth as they are deceitful and clever. They are always engrossed· in their own selfish motives and suffer along with other colleagues, as they do not follow the Will of the True Guru. O, Nanak! It is only through the Grace of the Lord that one gets imbued with the love of the Guru's Word. (1)

Mahala 4th

The self-willed (faithless) persons are always engrossed in the love of the (Maya) worldly falsehood and greed and they do not enjoy peace of mind due to their dual-mindedness. They are constantly fretting and fuming (burning in the fire) with worldly desires by day and night and are always laboring under their egoistic tendencies and making others disgusted. Their heart is covered with the darkness of material greed, and as such, no one likes to join them - even. They neither enjoy bliss themselves nor enable others to have peace of mind and suffer the pangs of the cycle of births and deaths. O, Nanak! Even such faithless persons are pardoned by the True Lord provided they seek refuge at the lotus feet of the True Guru. (2)

Pouri

The person, who wins the love of the Lord, is accepted in the Lord's presence as his saint. The persons, who have recited the True Name of their beloved True Master, are considered full of wisdom; as they have partaken in the (food nectar of the Lord's True Name, and they have placed (applied) the dust of the lotus feet of the holy saints on their foreheads. O, Nanak! Such persons, who have applied the dust of the holy saints on their foreheads, have purified themselves and crossed the ocean of life successfully by (bathing at the holy place of the Lord) and imbibing the love of the Lord. (26)

सलोक मः ४ ॥ अंतर अज्ञान भई मति मधिम सतिगुर की परतीत नाही ॥ अंदर कपट सभ कपटो कर जाणै कपटे खपहि खपाही ॥ सतिगुर का भाणा चित न आवै आपणै सुआए फिराही ॥ किरपा करे जे आपणी ता नानक सबद समाही ॥१॥
मः ४ ॥ मनमुख माया मोहि व्यापे दूजै भाए मनूआ थिर नाहि ॥ अनदिन जलत रहहि दिन राती हौमै खपहि खपाहि ॥ अंतर लोभ महा गुबारा तिन कै निकट न कोई जाहि ॥ ओए आप दुखी सुख कबहू न पावहि जनम मरहि मर जाहि ॥ नानक बखस लए प्रभ साचा जि गुर चरनी चित लाहि ॥२॥
पौड़ी ॥ संत भगत परवाण जो प्रभ भाया ॥ सेई बिचखण जंत जिनी हरि ध्याया ॥ अमृत नाम निधान भोजन खाया ॥ संत जना की धूर मस्तक लाया ॥ नानक भए पुनीत हरि तीरथ न्हाया ॥२६॥

Hukamnama Meaning in Hindi

श्लोक महला ४॥
जिस जीव के मन में अज्ञान है उसकी तो बुद्धि ही भ्रष्ट हो गई है, उसे सतगुरु के प्रति कोई आस्था नहीं।
जिसके मन में छल-कपट ही है, वह सबको कपटी ही समझता है और इस छल-कपट के कारण वह तबाह हो जाता है।
उसके मन में गुरु की रज़ा प्रविष्ट नहीं होती और वह तो अपने स्वार्थ के लिए ही भटकता रहता है।
हे नानक ! यदि ईश्वर अपनी कृपा करे तो ही वह शब्द में समा जाता है।॥ १॥

महला ४॥

मनमुख जीव माया के मोह में ही फँसे रहते हैं और द्वैतभाव के कारण उनका मन स्थिर नहीं होता।
वे तो दिन-रात तृष्णाग्नि में जलते रहते हैं और अहंकार में बिल्कुल नष्ट हो जाते हैं (एवं दूसरों को भी नष्ट कर देते हैं)।
इनके मन में लोभ का घोर अन्धेरा है और कोई भी उनके निकट नहीं आता।
वे आप दुःखी रहते हैं और कभी भी उन्हें सुख की प्राप्ति नहीं होती। वे मर जाते हैं और जन्मते-मरते ही रहते हैं।
हे नानक ! जो अपना चित गुरु के चरणों में लगाते हैं, सच्चा प्रभु उन्हें क्षमा कर देता है॥ २॥

पउड़ी॥

जो प्रभु को अच्छा लगता है, वही संत एवं भक्त परवान हैं।
जिसने भगवान का ध्यान किया है, वही पुरुष चतुर है।
वह अमृत नाम का भोजन ग्रहण करता है, जो सर्व गुणों का भण्ड़ार है।
वह तो संतजनों की चरण-धूलि ही अपने माथे पर लगाता है।
हे नानक ! जिन्होंने हरि-नाम रूपी तीर्थ में स्नान किया है, वे पवित्र पावन हो गए हैं॥२६॥
