ਅਸੁਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਉਮਾਹੜਾ ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪਿਆਸ ਦਰਸਨ ਘਣੀ ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮਾਇ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੇ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਵਿਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘਾਇ ॥ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਕਰਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈਆ ਸਿ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਿਣੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥ ਅਸੂ ਸੁਖੀ ਵਸੰਦੀਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੮॥

English Translation

( Assu ) ( Assun Prem Umaharha )

During the month of Asun, the love of the Lord has sprouted out like a fountain. How could we meet the Lord? O, my friend! May someone unite me with my Lord-spouse, as I have developed a great longing in my heart (body and mind) for meeting the Lord! I bow at the lotus feet of the holy saints, who could help me in developing this love. We cannot enjoy peace of mind without meeting the Lord, and there is no second place for me to get support.

The persons, who have realized the nectar of True Name and its love are satiated with it. O, Lord! May You bestow me with Your unison! I pray to You having rid myself of my egoism. The persons who are once united with the Lord Spouse have never separated again. O Nanak! There is no other power apart from the Lord, whose support we could seek! During the month of Asun, those persons enjoy eternal bliss, and are blessed with the Lord’s Grace! (8)
