Guru Hargobind Sahib Biography

Life and History of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji in Punjabi is a translation work by Prof. Bhai Jodh Singh Ji from the Original English version of Sikh Religion by Max Arthur Macaullife. Bhai Jodh Singh Ji was a renowned Sikh Scholar, Professor, and Chief of Religion Studies at Punjabi University Patiala.

Much less has been written about Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and there are limited writings that conclude his principles of Bhakti and Shakti. It was a ‘never done before’ task in the history and philosophy of the Indian Subcontinent to load Bhakti and Shakti together into an individual body. He established the temporal seat of Sikhs in form of Akal Takht which later proved to be a milestone in the revelation of Khalsa at the time of Guru Gobind Singh.
