Ascension Gurpurabs or Joti Jot Divas are the days when Gurus had to shred their physical elements and return to the union of Almighty Waheguru. There is no Ascension day or Joti Joti Gurpurab of Guru Granth Sahib as this is Jugo Jug Atal Jot of All Bhagats and Gurus and words of God.
The third kind of Gurpurabs are celebrated to memorize the Gurta Gaddi Divas of Gurus. Guru Nanak Sahib Ji is known to have Gurgaddi from his birth, later on, the days commemorate when one Guru passed his divine light to the next spiritual preceptor.
