Bandi Chhor Divas is celebrated to commemorate the day when the 6th Sikh Guru – Miri Piri de Malik – Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji was released from the Gwalior Jail. He also got 52 other kings released with his wisdom who were imprisoned with him.
