Guru Amardas Merged into Supreme Being
Guru Amardas Ji called Baba Budha Ji and all other prominent Sikhs to attend the Guruship ceremony of his successor Bhai Jetha Ji. After taking a bath Bhai Jetha Ji wore new clothes. Then he was asked to sit on the throne. Baba Budha applied the Tilak on Guru Ram Dass's (Bhai Jetha) forehead and the spiritual kingdom was passed on to the fourth Guru. Then Guru Amar Dass bowed before him. After that excepting Baba Mohan, all bowed their heads in reverence.
After a few days, Guru Amar Dass told his family that the time had come to merge with the Supreme Being. Before his merger into the Supreme Being, the Guru called the members of the family and devotees on 1st September 1574 A.D., and said,
"No one should cry on my leaving this body of five elements. There is no need to place an earthen lamp on the palm of my hand at the time of my passing away because, with the word of the Guru, the darkness from my mind has vanished. For me, the rite of Pind (Balls of food thrown in water) or seeding the Brahmins is not required. The Name of God is the only food for the soul. I was hoping you would not take my ashes to Hardwar but immerse these in running water at any place. Do not take out a funeral procession. Let the Name of God be recited after my death."
A few minutes later all saw that the soul of the Guru had merged into the Supreme Light

3. Taaran Wala Guru - A Poem on Guru Amardas Ji
It is a poem by renowned poet Vidhata Singh Teer Ji dedicated to Guru Amar Das Ji.
